Aire Cool Heating & Air Conditioning

I have used Aire Cool since moving here in 2010. I wish all service providers were as trustworthy and cost-efficient as Marcos Ordaz and his crew. They are always on time, and they don’t leave until the job is done and the cleanup is spotless. I have such peace of mind when summer heat comes, knowing that if anything goes wrong, they will be there to fix it, on time and at a reasonable cost. I wish I could give Aire Cool 10 stars!

First thing first: if you don’t have luxury of spending at least 2x more than others for the same AC services, find someone else. They are expensive. Details below.Even though I’m going to give you a one star, let me start with a positive.Positive: the repair guys are transparent with what’s wrong and what needs to be done. They were the fastest to reply to my request even though I requested on Sunday.Negative: the prices are outrageous. They charged me $180 to diagnosis which is about 2x more than local normal. They said it would not be charged if they repair. Now my unit is under warranty for parts, so it will be only for labor charge.A day later, I received a quote with $1,270 price tag. I did a quick research on Google and it said the average cost with parts under warranty is between $300 and $800. I complained and they gave me 10% discount. I asked is $180 would be applied. They said yes, and I assumed $180 will be taken out from $1270, which I was wrong… so the original cost was $1,450. I didn’t learn this after the repair was done.I asked breakdown of the price. They said it’s a flat rate so they could not give me. They couldn’t even give the original price, less $180? That’s pretty bad.I contacted multiple local repair people. Their prices with parts under warranty is between $350 and $750, give and take. This repair took them 45 minutes with 2 people. $1,450 for such job is outrageous and simply ripping customers off.We customers are blind and in a hurry with AC breakdown in the middle of the summer. However we should be delivery enough to do our homework. I hope the screenshots will help others to understand that this company charges at least 2x more than others for the same service.Edit: Here is my reply to the owner’s comments.1. Looking up whether mine is under warranty or not — takes 5 minutes.2. Gas to commute — shouldn’t be more than $50 for all the trip, and my parts shouldn’t be the only one picking up.3. You didn’t say $180 is price for weekends. You just said it will be $180 to diagnosis.4. You were not clear at all if $1270 included $180 service fee. If it were clear, I didn’t even check with your service person.5. Total time for this repair, 45 min. Commute to/from 30 min but I should not be the one take care of it all. Other labor to check warranty and pick up parts, shouldn’t be over an hour and it should not be my sole responsibility.6. This $1450 is above and beyond. This would be out of warranty price. $700 to $800 with all the “expenses” you have to cover and 15% margin. You added extra 50% margin.7. Finally, you should have itemized estimate for customers to understand how much you are charging for labor, service fees, etc.If someone is willing to pay you this much, that is great for you. Sure your service itself was honest and everyone should be like that. I’m only complaining about the price that is close to 2x as much as anyone should have paid. A good thing is AC repair in the summer = desperate needs = add more to the price. We just don’t have time to shop around. And yes I checked for 5 days for the price. I kept you since I approved the invoice with misunderstanding, along with myself traveling out of state while I had others staying. I just honored what I committed to do.Whatever you wish to say, it is your decision to make. I have no question about others I checked with being able to take care of the repair less than what you charged even if they couldn’t do the warranty repair.

Ive never been disappointed with the service from Aire Cool. The technicians are friendly, polite, knowledgeable and keep me up to date via text and emails. I couldnt be more satisfied. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Aire Cools services to anyone.

They charge a $140 service fee charge. A lot higher than average. They quote extremely high and give you the run about the estimates til they know how much they want to price gauge. Find someone else please. We did.

We trust MARCO and his sons absolutely! He is so knowledgeable. He always cleans up after himself, arrives on time or lets you knew if running late. We have confidence in his recommendations.

I was referred to Aire Cool by a family friend and I am highly pleased by the service I received today from Marco Ordaz. He was very knowledgeable and explained the technical information behind my heaters problem in a simplified manner making it easy to understand. I was also very pleased by his prompt response time considering I had called him just a few hours before. I will definitely refer Aire Cool to friends and family in the future.
