Baytown Brake & Muffler

So discount tire sent me here to get a wheel stud replaced on my Honda, not only did it take a whole hour but I just had suspension work done a few days ago and my mechanic sent me this picture, obviously instead of going about it the right way they took a air Dremel to my spindle and brake shield. Absolutely ridiculous. Not even going to try to give this place a chance to fix it cause I know the owner is cheap and the old white guy that runs it is always in a bad mood. Plus at the end of the day discount tire sent me there so technically they’re responsible (for my case)Still beware taking your car here cause obviously they love their short cuts.

I took my car here because whenever I hit my brakes, the front of my car shook. They put my car on the lift and checked the front end for worn-out parts. They have this cool machine that hooks up to my car and cuts the rotors flat. In the video, you can see where the rotor is warped and how it cuts it flat. Im so lucky that they were able to do that because I didnt have the money to replace the rotors, and they said cutting the rotors is actually the best option since the rotor is cut on the car, there is no lateral run-out. Which makes the brakes have zero vibration whenever I hit my brakes.

I just got to Texas one month ago, and I started having trouble with my car. David was very helpful and patient with me. He took his time to make sure that I understood the issues that my vehicle was having. This crew is very honest and they do not try to take advantage of you. I will certainly be bringing my car back here.

I’m very pleased with the service I got today. I had my front brake pads and rotors replaced. The mechanic was honest and professional. The owner was also very professional. They quickly diagnosed my problem, provided an estimate, and completed the work in a reasonable amount of time. The parts and labor also have a 2 year warranty. I highly recommend!

Took the wifes car in for some new shocks on the rear. We left the car and we picked it up within a few hours. Very professional and prices are reasonable. We will be going back to have the struts changed. Honest, professional service can be hard to find. This place has both.👍👍👍

My husband brought my car in for the breaks to be repaired. The mechanic was very honest and actually found my car had a bigger problem than just the breaks which he was able to fix and get my car back to me quickly. My car is driving a lot better . My husband is happy with the work and is even happier we now have found a mechanic near us that we can trust!

Gotta give it to David, he tackled a picky Jeep suspension problem - Very clear diagnosing my problem, showed me the problem - then fixed it!! The crew went out their way to accommodate me, Ive found my new home shop!! Thank you!! P.S - they did a great job on my exhaust too, I wanted a deeper sound - it sounds MUCH better!

Took my car in for new brakes. They were straight up and honest with me about what I did and did not need. They truly care about the customer and it shows. Very reasonably priced too. Ill definitely be going back.

Updated. I returned the following week 1/10, 2023, after the shop manager asked me to come by for a shop inspection to my rear brakes for an adjustment. After I drove at least 200 miles by the manager’s request. Excellent follow up visit for about twenty minutes.My first visit, and theyre only half a mile from my home and also near my local shopping area, down on E Texas, from S Alexander Dr. Besides brake jobs, they also are a muffler shop. They arent a tire shop by trade, but could probably recommend one to visit. There are so many tire shops in the area, so it is best to find one that is well known to successful businesses like Brake and Muffler. Ask the shop manager Bobby. He will help you.

Man, these guys are awesome! I came in from out of town, and had a morning to get it all done, and those guys GOT IT DONE!For the services I wanted (new pads and rotors & brake fluid flush), Id been quoted here at home by Midas at about $500. These guys got me out the door at $383, and I couldnt be more pleased with their work! 10/10 would recommend and would use again if I need it next time Im in their area!

The main guy is cool af. He gets ish done quickly & the price is right.

After reading the reviews I decided to stop by due to ABS & traction lights, problem was diagnosed & he broke dowm costs of the issue. My warranty agreed to cover the repairs only after going back & forth with baytown brake. I appreciate the effort that was put into getting my repairs covered & getting us back on the road asap. Everyone was friendly, courteous and professional, took them about 2 hours to complete the repairs, and so far the car is driving great! They have gained a new life long customer. I definitely recommend them.

We’re polite and accommodating and when there was a problem with my wheelchair, they made sure I was comfortable at a nearby restaurant for the duration of the work. Went above and beyond with quality work. Very reasonable price also. I would recommend them and will definitely use them again.

I was referred by discount tire which is right down the street about 7 minutes away. I called to see if they can service my vehicle for stud replacements. Who ever I spoke on the phone and spoke with me had a very bad attitude and his customer service skills were not up to par. During the conversation I was bummed out because they couldnt fit me in on the same day to get to stud replacement and they were booked for the whole day and great chance that I would have to wait for the following day. Again, very direct and bothered he asked if Im paying out of pocket or what. I told him Im referred by Discount Tire. He stated that the referral doesnt guarantee me to be seen. My response was that I understood that Im well aware of that I was just simply following directions from the manager at discount tire. I understood and I said okay well if you dont have availability for today then I will go ahead and find a shop thats able to do it thank you anyways. He then interrupted me in the middle of that sentence and said with a really rude, snappy and ugly attitude If you hold on for one moment I am trying to find you the part and replace you with an appointment that I have today since you have to get it done! I apologized and said sorry I thought you were done.(since I heard silence and he stopped talking and it was an awkward silence) He then asked how fast can I get there to where hes at and I said within the next seven 15 minutes Im right down the road and he said okay Ill see you then and he hung up. I still didnt feel comfortable having someone maintenance my vehicle under a bad attitude maybe he was having a bad day or something is going on or just overwhelmed with work I dont know. Everybody has their bad days however I still didnt feel comfortable going there by myself so went back to discount tire provided my telephone feedback and requested to be referred to another location and which they did and I got better service. Note: This is my second time being referred to this location. My first time was great other than waiting in the heat in a little trailer. The phone call the first time last year was more friendlier and I know it wasnt the same guy. It is unfortunate to say that I had to refuse the service after calling back and I out of courtesy let them know that I will not be going there within the next few minutes and to proceed with seeing their previous customer. I do believe in second chances so I hope that this review will let them see that customer service is everything. What baffles me, I dont have a trusty mechanic other than my dealership in clear lake and not local. Sad, I liked them the first visit.

TBH I just went there to pick my brother up so we could go to the grocery store while his truck was getting new brakes. I will say that it was ready on time and the shop was really clean and thats a really big thing as far as shops go! Havent heard anything negative from him so I think hes on board too!

Outstanding work, quick and easy process, with reasonable prices. I had my front control bars that needed replacement, and Firestone in town had a two day wait. I went to Baytown Brake and Muffler and was provided a quote that day, and had them replaced the day after. My car is driving beautifully once again, and am very glad I had it repaired here. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to support a growing, hometown business.

I came to this shop for an alignment on a Thursday around 10 AM and they finally called me to pick up the truck around 4 PM. As I was leaving the shop I turned on Texas avenue and my tie rod fell off my truck. I had to park my truck and walk back to the shop so they could fix it. After they reattached my tie rod I limped my truck back to the shop. They decided they they could not fix my truck that same day and decided to lock it up in the shop. I came back to get my truck the next morning and they moved it out of the way so they could work on other peoples vehicles. I waited 4 hours for them to finally finish my truck. Finally I was able to leave with my vehicle after missing two days of work and countless trips to the shop. I drove my truck home and climbed under to discover they forgot to put on all of my skid plates. If you value your time and money do not use Baytown brake and muffler!EDIT: also the grease fittings that we’re supposedly “installed” were not on the truck when I climbed under to grease the front end. I was also overcharged for the installation of these fittings.

The service was great but the price to replace a cat was extreme considering its basically a plug n play process and the vehicle runs like it was never changed. I was reccomended there because apparently they could check if my cat was bad before changing it.. But was told they dk how to do it on my vehicle but they could go ahead n replace it either way. Wasnt diagnosed although brake n muffler is their specialty.I couldve bought an aftermarket american thunder cat and installed for the same price. Id look for other reputable places charging less before taking my vehicle here again. Unfortunately my time constraints didnt allow me to look elsewhere before deciding to just bite the bullet.

Very honest guys. Got quoted a price, the mechanic realized it was an easier fix than the quote, and didn’t try to over charge me. Reduced the price and then explained why I had the issue to begin with. Great service, and highly recommend.

I had my back brakes replaced on my Grand Jeep Cherokee several months ago and they started to squeak recently upon braking. Thankfully, they were still under warranty and Mr. Alfredo was so nice, explained exactly what the problem was and what to do to avoid this happening in the future! David fixed the problem and showed me everything(Ive never had anyone at a shop do that before) and got me back on the road in no time! Thank you for being so kind and for all your help!

They did an awesome job on my Honda. Man even took his personal car to pick up the parts instead of having them delivered... even though we hit a snag they were completely professional about it and accommodated me... I see why they have so many 5 star ratings...

I took my grandmothers car to this place because of the rating on Google, and I was not disappointed. They were extremely nice and knowledgable. They showed me upclose everything that needed to be done, and pointed out the difference between what needed to be fixed immediately and what could wait until a little further down the line. They werent pushy and didnt try to gouge or take advantage. In fact, their pricing was fair. It was around lunch time, so they thoughfully gave me a ride so I could get something to eat while I waited. The caliper I needed wasnt in stock, so they had to order it. From start to finish it took about 2.5 hours -- not bad at all, especially considering they had to order the part. I do recommend this place and will definitely visit these guys again.

I started coming down to this shop about a year ago and have learned to trust the head mechanic named David. I have a lifted Jeep JKU Wrangler and am very particular about who touches it. I also own a truck and a couple of cars (family) that have been serviced very satisfactory. It is the rarest of repair shops that will tell you, you dont need work done right now and David can correctly diagnose a problem and fix it. I give this shop 5 stars for honesty and work done. On top of that, the price is right.

Had work done here recently and was very pleased. Have a somewhat urgent need and went by for help and was shuned... I had just loaded my bike in my truck for out of town transport and he wouldnt look at or test drive or ride with me to diagnose my problem. Insurance reasons.... really? Anyway, I had to leave and find someone else to help me.Feel like he was such an ass about it. Went to can do front end repair and they were right on looking into my problem...

Donny is a great guy. First time we went I had just gotten hit (sideswiped) by an 18wheeler, I was pregnant and he handled me and my car with such care. Hes a family Man, and Thats the kind of place Id rather take my money. Second time we went he knew our faces and greeted us like an old friend. He always takes care of us. Great prices, great work, great place! I highly recommend them. .... now if only u were open on sundays Lol.

I was referred by discount tire. Which is 7mi away. They was suppose to fix the knuckle. On the left passanger side. And David and hisemploye messed up my anti freeze container under my hood. Now its leaking really bad. He said they have nothing to do with the problem. Well.my engine light wasnt on before I brought my car to you.

David and the rest of the team really helped me out. He took me with him on a test drive and showed me what was going on with the car. And they were very upfront with price and the details.

Prices completely unrealistic. Wanted 250 for a muffler delete. Went down the road and paid $80. Took 20 minutes.

Had an alignment done. My car had some vibration and pulled towards the right after having an alignment done at a different place and Baytown Brake fixed the issue.

Highly recommend this place. my stepdad truck needed the right ball joint and hub bearing replaced. We bought the parts and the mechanic replaced them in no time at all.
