I was fairly satisfied with the entire loan servicing process, but I have to say that I am disappointed with my experience during the final stages of the mortgage process, specifically regarding the handling of the Closing Disclosure (CD) and Cash to Close amount.1. the final CD was last minute modified- The final CD was changed multiple times even after I had confirmed the wire transfer amount.- This created unnecessary confusion and caused me to expend additional effort to correct the issue, which could have been avoided with proper verification upfront.2. Lack of ownership and support- The Closer - Chelsea Chinworth was not proactive in providing a solution.Her attitude was dismissive after I sent an email stating, “I was surprised to learn about the additional amount needed for the Cash to close. I had previously confirmed the amount in the CD with you and wired per instruction. Is there a way to resolve this balance without incurring an additional wire transfer? Because each wire transfer will incur a wire transfer fee. Thank you for your help in resolving this matter!”, she responded by asking me : are you inquiring if CMG can pay the difference for the change to hazard insurance? ????? This left me to figure out a solution on my own with the title company.As a borrower, I expected the mortgage company to ensure a smooth and transparent closing process, rather than introducing avoidable errors and shifting the responsibility for resolving them to me.This handling significantly increased my stress and left me with a negative impression of the companys professionalism.I strongly urge the team to improve their internal communication and verification processes to prevent similar issues with future borrowers.

So the communication with Rachel & Chris from CMG financial was a little slow. So I think in terms of communication I would give a solid 6/10. Their Loan worksheets are very confusing and makes you wanna hate yourself. I was very close to going with someone else because their loan worksheet was confusing and I couldnt understand anything in it! But they have a solid platform where you are informed at every step of the loan like approval and signing documents and underwriter stage and so on. I liked that they used technology to personalize my home buying experience! I loved that Chris and Rachel took care of me as a customer. Although they took her time they was very polite and friendly! Would definitely go with CMG financial if the rates are good!

Chris and his team worked with our unusual situation (foreign employer) to get us approved and introduced us to their All-in-One product which beats standard mortgages without question. The team worked with me to get my mortgage approved. I had a condo in Illinois that, at time, had not sold. I have a complicated financial profile because I had worked in Pennsylvania and Illinois. I had a 403b in Pennsylvania, two 401ks in Illinois, and three retirement accounts with a financial planner in California. They sorted things out. After everything was said and done I was approved for my mortgage. I would not hesitate to recommend Christopher, Beau, Melissa, and CMGFI to anyone. Even though I have an ARM I happy with the low interest rate on my mortgage.

Elizabeth spent HOURS on the phone with me discussing different options and scenarios until we found the perfect route that made sense for me financially. If you are a first-time home buyer who expects someone to break down all the steps along the way dont expect that from CMG as they work like a big company where everything is automated and you would have to call them to get all your questions answered.They wont be calling you to inform you of whats happening instead there will be an automated email explaining which step you are along the way. This is great since there is no communication with them but that automated email is detailed enough for you to get the picture of whats happening with your mortgage application. If you are not a first-time home buyer then 10/10 I would recommend CMG but if you are a first-time home buyer then I would not recommend them as you would have so many questions and would want someone to be proactive in helping you out in your first big financial purchase and I didnt get that from CMG.In my experience (First Time Home Buyer), I had no idea who will be the person that will handle my mortgage application so I called them and asked that question to them and they informed me that there will be multiple people working on my mortgage application from CMG it wont be just one person handling it. Initially, they sent me an email saying it will be Chris Minjarez that will handle my application then after calling them I figured out that Chris Minjarez is the boss and under his team, there are multiple people so technically it was Chris Minjarez Team that worked on my mortgage application, not Chris himself. Once I figured out the contact information of the person under Chriss team anytime I had a question I would schedule a call with them and talk to them and ask my questions but I always felt rushed or like the person is not fully there because the person was so busy but eventually I did get all my questions answered and when we moved to the phase where we needed to sort out the financial stuff they were responsive (Of course) and did a great job in guiding me to get all my documents ready and gave me tips on how to handle the wire transfer stuff which I appreciated.Overall, it was still a good experience for me since I wont stop asking questions and I will find a way to go above and beyond to get what I want but if you are not like that, you would have a tough time dealing with CMG.PS - I did not use AI to write this review. These are all my words and thoughts.

You hear crazy stories about closing and having time against you to retrieve documents and be submitted in time. CMG staff communication exceeds above and beyond. My first home purchased was amazing.

We started our refinance journey with Chris in late March/early April. Come June we still had not closed on our house. We were continually told they were waiting on a better interest rate and then one day said we were closing without ever discussing the interest rate with us. The communication was absolutely awful. There were 5-6 different people who would be in contact with us, one of which called us half way through to return our phone call and asked us if we would like to being the refinancing process, he had no idea we were already half way through. We were also told in an email that we would get $1900 in closing cost and they forgot to give it to us in the closing documents. We ended up ending our work with them days before we would finally close because we felt we couldnt trust them. I would suggest finding a different mortgage officer if you plan on closing and knowing what you are getting. We went with a different loan officer who is closing us within a month of working with him and he got us a much lower interest rate.

Not happy with how we ended up with the mortgage. Had we not been that we were hard pressed to close on time, and CMG being identified as preferred lender by the builder, we would have walked away with a different lender, much better rate and far far less closing costs.Wouldnt divulge in the details here but watch out for the high fees, not so competitive rates and changes without notification. It seemed like a bait and switch for a lot of reasons.

Had similar experience to what imran explained. The builder identified Chriss team as the preferred lender, and we got stuck with them. They knew that we did not have any other options and cannot shop around. The rate was not competitive, and the closing cost was very high. I do not recommend this team for your mortgage.
