They did a fantastic job on our HVAC replacement today! Price came out and did our estimate within an hour of us calling to inquire about a replacement and two days later we have a brand new system. Fast, affordable, and great customer service. Roy and Irving were our techs and they were very professional and explained everything about the new system to us. They honestly left everything cleaner than it was before. Highly recommend!!!

If I could subtract a star I would! I’ve never been soo disappointed in a well known company that I can remember. Their indifference to the problem and attitude like “oh well”.During freezing temperatures I first contacted Stan’s because they were the first company that I got in contact with when my furnace stopped heating. The technician came out, and all of a sudden the furnace started working. He said there was nothing wrong that he could see. Charged me $96. As far as I knew the problem was resolved.Then today, less than 30 days later, in 28° weather the furnace started doing the same thing. So we called again, this time the technician said it was a frozen drain line. He looked at me and said when you thaw that out it will work and he left before making sure it was working. He didn’t offer to thaw the short length of condensation drain line. He didn’t do anything to resolve the issue but he said the office would charge me another $96.I thawed the pipe myself but nothing worked. The furnace still wouldn’t come on. So I called them again and said Hey! The temperature in my house is 58° and it’s supposed to get into the teens. I need someone to come actually fix this. Third guy told me the drain line is probably frozen in the wall and so we will just have to wait for warmer weather. He again expressed no real interest in resolving the issue. “Just have to wait it out”. And for that very helpful information they again charged me $96.At no point in the last 7 years did we have this problem before a month ago and in the years past there were colder freezes and for longer periods of time. So it makes no sense to me that it would have frozen today. Or back on January 21.I would not recommend Stan’s heating and air to anyone.Update: after this review, I had the company reach out and sent two gentlemen came out that were the “fixers “ and they spent several hours just working to resolve my problem and ultimately fixed it. I’ve adjusted my star rating but I’m leaving the rest up because it shouldn’t take four visits to resolve an issue.I do respect that someone from the company reached out and they did make good on the promise to repair my furnace. I think the company intends well.

Joshua from Stans was amazing. Just before dinner, I heard water dripping under my kitchen sink and discovered the entire sink cabinets floor was soaking wet, and an electrical line was getting soaked. I called Stans, half expecting to hear a recording saying to call back tomorrow. Instead, the phone was answered quickly and Joshua arrived around 6:00pm. He diagnosed the problem -- a leak from an invisible hole in the sink faucet that had spray-coated the cabinet walls. He turned off the water and encouraged me to save money by buying a new faucet myself, rather than paying him to do it. I did so the next morning and immediately called him. He arrived mid-afternoon and replaced the faucet. I was very impressed by his knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail at every step.I believe if Im going to do something, I must do it right. Joshua clearly shares that same philosophy, and I recommend him highly.

Absolutely disappointed. Went with this company based on their reviews but it’s nothing like their website states. Look at the photos. I had to leave to work half way through the install just to come to this. Guy left the job with the unit plugged in with an extension cord he took out my garage! What? He Told my wife to call an electrician because the install isn’t up to code. What did I pay thousands of dollars for ? Complete ripoff. Earlier the guy had the nerve to tell me he couldn’t replace the water valve in the attic bcs my homeowner shutoff valve that I had replaced 2 years ago had an ant pile on it. … wanted to give me a quote to replace it. WHAT? I put ant poison on it and told his helper that I would dig it out and call them in a few days to finish the job then… his helper dug it out. Seems like the lowest guy on the totem pole at this company has more sense and decency than the installers and ‘managers’ that were at my house. I called them to ask nicely why there is an extension cord in my attic. She said she would talk to the mangers at get back to me….its been almost 2 weeks. I’ll call again tomorrow

If I could leave them negative stars I would. This company is beyond incompetent. They did the install for the two systems in my new construction home in 2021. There were problems from day one. They wasted dozens of hours of our time constantly sending technicians. Never finding the problem. Finally after 3 winter season I brought in another company to find the problem and they discovered the installation was bad. Stans left a shipping plate still installed attached to the air conditioning coil in the baffle, and they used the wrong size pipe to vent the unit. Through 20 visits nobody ever suspected an issue with installation or checked it. Yet this new company found it in about 10 minutes. After those items were fixed, at my expense, the unit finally worked properly. Im sure if you have a basic problem like a capacitor that needs to be replaced or a dirty filter Stans is fine. But stay away from them for system replacement or new build work.

Jonas was our technician today and he did a fantastic job! We had chicken wings (no idea how they got there) that got stuck in the toilet drain. In about an hour and a half, he removed the toilet, cleared the clog, reinstalled and cleaned up after himself. We paid ~$630 for the work (which is a competitive rate for removing the toilet to unclog the drain and replace the supply line). Thanks Stans!

Jonas Perez was wonderful. He worked steadily and was very thoroughly. Some things needed to be done, he reschedule and was timely on returning. He was pleasant, explained everything he was doing and answered my million questions. Very professional. We really enjoyed working with him. I hope he will return when we need Stan’s again. We have been a Stan’s customer for several years; this being our second home with them. They are always excellent.

I had an excellent experience with Albert of Stans Heating, Air, Plumbing, & Electrical! He came out to perform a diagnostic review of our 220v outlet in preparation for charging our EV. He was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. I really appreciated how he explained everything he was doing and why, which gave me confidence in the quality of his work. It’s clear he takes pride in doing things the right way.I’ll definitely be using Stans again and highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work.

Today I called Stans for emergency call out for heating system. Matthew Santos came out and fixed it and my heating system is running fine. He was very thorough and explained what the problem was and how he was fixing the situation. He is kind, smart, a good person and very capable at his profession. Matthew is a true asset to Stans and I really appreciate his efforts and his expertise. I will be using Stans again for 2 times a year checkups and any other issues that arise. I will be recommending Stans to my friends.

I was unexpectedly very disappointed in Stans (both the tech and plumbing department management) when they serviced my next door neighbors plumbing in December 2024. They sent a tech (Steve Garcia) out to repair a leak at the homeowners shutoff valve area. My valve is in the same hole as the neighbors. While the tech was there, our water was suddenly off. I ran out just as the tech was about to leave. He immediately said I didnt do it before I had a chance to tell him that he mistakenly cut our water. When I did tell him, he said that he didnt do it again, and then said that he did not have any responsibility for our water, and that it basically was not his problem. He continued to be rude and unhelpful when I said that our water was fine until he was working in that area. He drove away, refusing to turn our water back on. I was stunned by his behavior, and thankfully had a neighbor help get our water back on when Steve Garcia drove back to our property to say he would in fact fix the issue. Too little too late, after his behavior. I called Stans and explained the situation, and asked to give feedback to a manager. I was told one of the plumbing department managers would call me shortly. I never got a call. I am a longtime Austin resident and have always thought of Stans as a home-town family company. I definitely will not call them for service any more.

I had a very disappointing experience with this Electrical technician. From the moment they arrived, it was clear they didn’t want to do the job. They gave off an attitude of reluctance and immediately acted as though the task of hanging a ceiling fan would be overly complicated. When I showed them how straightforward the issue was, they begrudgingly agreed to proceed but then attempted to charge me twice the amount of the original estimate.This kind of behavior feels unprofessional and exploitative. Customers deserve honesty and a willingness to work, not price gouging and poor attitudes.Nice people took my call then management never followed up to answer my questions before the tech arrived. Brians name was thrown out twice for a call back, but apparently they have two Brians and even the staff was confused having two Brians. Neither Brian, whichever is the correct one ever called back.I would not recommend this service based on my experience. Sad, this company has been around a long time.

I called Stan’s on a Saturday afternoon and their technician (Felix) was at my house within an hour. He quickly fixed two the problems with the a/c unit. He was professional, knowledgeable and courteous, plus he discounted the rate for replacing a safety switch. I would definitely use them again. Had a great experience. They came and diagnosed my issue but found another issue as well. Joshua F the technician was amazing explaining and showing me the details. It was expensive so I had to think about it and then called them back. They came bright and early the next morning. And handled everything including dealing with the city water folks and finding a solution so the drywall in my garage had minimal issues. Very professional and thorough. Cleaned up and kept me apprised the whole time. Bravo.And Thank you!

My installer was great. Very nice and efficient. He moved everything that was blocking my water heater and moved them back after he was finished. My only complaint was the wait for the new water heater. It took way too long -- two to three hours. I wish he I remember the guys name. I was very pleased with him. He deserved 5 stars. The company not so much.

Roy (Rogelio) was great. We had three separate issues of varying severity that we wanted some help with, and he addressed all of them that same morning. He gave us good advice regarding a water pressure probem that was out of his control so that we knew what to do next, and he didnt even charge us for one of the fixes (incorrectly installed washing machine). Definitely would recommend and will be using Stans again for any other issues we have in the future.

Stans is the company you can trust! I had used Radiant Plumbing a few years ago to flush out my tankless water heater and they messed it all up....so luckily, a friend had recommended Stans to me. I had Stans come out and they fixed (most) everything that Radiant messed up and overlooked. Since then, I have ONLY called on Stans to provide maintenance for my tankless water heater. Today, I had them come out to do my yearly maintenance and had the best plumber on the job! Carrington was fast, knowledgeable, and super friendly! I had my A/C (newly installed a few months ago) and Heating inspected today by Brandon, our Service Technician. Both he and his partner were very polite and respectful along with being very knowledgeable. During his inspection he noticed that the Heater was incorrectly wired and he took care of that. I was very happy with the service he provided and being able to answer any questions my wife or I had.

My recent experience with Stan’s was so unprofessional that it’s hard to believe.I had an HVAC issue covered under my builder’s warranty so I scheduled Stan’s since they are the ones who installed the unit. Corina called me to cancel & reschedule 3 separate times, stating techs had been out sick. I was super understanding and this wasn’t a big deal to me. Everyone is short staffed and people get sick. I had no idea this was foreshadowing my ongoing experience with them.When a tech finally came out he diagnosed the issue and was able to confirm it was an entire missing piece that was never installed. First strike against Stan’s, they did their job wrong the first time. Now that we knew the problem I had to schedule again for someone to come fix it.When they finally came it was 2 guys. I had to ask them to wear shoe covers and they weren’t thrilled about having to go back to the truck (instead of being prepared and having them initially) they went into the bathroom to fix the issue. I asked them if I should move any of our personal items out of there and they told me no. They finished the job and left. Afterward I went in and saw that they had destroyed my bathroom. They had to cut at drywall and left it everywhere. Not to mention it was very clearly where we bathe our child so all of her toys, towels etc were all covered in drywall. They installed the unit crooked and left dirty black fingerprints all over the ceiling. They also took a nice chunk out of the wall with their ladder on the way out.I called and spoke to Corina about the issue. She said to send pictures. I sent them and never heard back. The next day after calling twice I finally got ahold of her and she was so incredibly cold and rude to me. Absolutely zero apologies. Did not even try to take responsibility for their actions. Just coldly said “we need to get you scheduled and don’t have anyone til next week” so you mean to tell me after 3 reschedules and some very shoddy work, I’m back at the bottom of the list?Just wait, it gets better.The guy who came the following week wasn’t given a reason for his visit, the notes just said that the other guys left a mess. So he wasted his time coming out.Due to all of the cancellations, I also had to cancel the follow up drywall appointment that was set to repair the drywall after Stan’s completed their job. When this company was finally able to come they went to go and do their job and stated that the fan piece (the part that was “repaired”) was installed incorrectly and was very likely going to fall from the ceiling. Thats right, a heavy bathroom fan in the bathroom I bathe my child in was not actually secured. So those 2 guys who destroyed my bathroom didn’t even do their job right.So once again Stan’s had to come out. This time Bernie came. Bernie showed up, immediately put shoe covers on and was beyond friendly. He went and looked at the issue and went and got plastic to tape around the walls to protect the bathroom. I asked if that was standard and he said yes. He was extremely thorough and professional and fixed up all of the shoddy work that had been done. THANK YOU for being friendly and competent unlike every other person I dealt with.So yeah, an issue that only happened due to their error in the first place took 3 cancellations, 4 actual visits and a lot of cleaning on my part. This is one of the worst experiences of my life and I wouldn’t recommend Stan’s to my worst enemy.

Now I know why these guys have such great reviews. My ancient heater broke the very first day it dropped below 30. They came same day. They didn’t have the part I needed due to the age of my unit- but ordered it & had it overnighted. There were some issues (not their fault- but the vendor from which they bought the part) but communicated very well throughout and did their best to get me fixed up asap. They didn’t try to overcharge me or sell me extra stuff I didn’t want. Just very efficient and professional- not to mention FAST. Will 100% be using these guys moving forward and as soon as I’m ready to replace the old dinasour. 😊 My tech Michael was also very nice and professional and I appreciated him not minding my dog’s excitement.

Our furnace stopped working and I woke up to a temp of 45 degrees this am. I called Stans and the person was very polite and friendly. Said they would send someone this afternoon. Cody came and had our furnace fixed in under an hour. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything and answered all my questions. I asked him if he would put up my new smoke/carbon monoxide detectors since I just recently had surgery on my eyes and wasnt going to be able to do it until after I healed and without a hesitation he did it for me. I will ask for Cody every time I have a problem with any future work to be done. This is the third time we have used Stans and have always been pleased.

I recently experienced significant water damage due to a ruptured pipe in my house. I hired Stans Plumbing to assist with home rebuilding project. Their service was great. I had a new water line installed from the city/street meter, kitchen and bathroom sink replaced and a full survey of all showers and other water outlets to ensure that there would not be any future issues. Stans crew was great. They were attentive to clean up and putting things back to the way they were before they arrived.I highly recommend Stans for plumbing service needs.

UPDATE 2: now zone 2 isnt working at all and wont ever get the rooms on zone 2 to the heat setting on the thermostat. Finally got the field supervisor Chris out to help, and he did a great job of figuring out what was going on. The zone damper was in the wrong position, the donut restricting one of the vents was reducing heat, and the zone 2 thermostat had never been configured to use stage 2 when required. The first issue must have been caused by the first attempt to repair, but the second two were original installation issues. Great that its all working, but way too much effort to get here.UPDATE 1: a faulty breaker switch on the fan coil unit, part under warranty but $400 to replace it. Poor Carrier quality, and Stans makes money when their stuff breaks. What a racket.New AC with heat pump installed 24 months ago. Last 2 winters barely used because primarily used gas fireplace. This winter gas fireplace is waiting for repair so must use heat pump. Out of town for 2 days with thermostat set to 58, return and set it to 68 and no hot air. Fan blower not running, compressor not running, but both thermostats say heat is on. Called after hours emergency service and nobody called back until normal business hours. Its 34 degrees outside. This unit was *expensive*, taking the advice of Stans, and either they installed junk equipment or installed it poorly. Unbelievably disappointed with this company.

Stans supplied and installed a Generac 26 KW standby home generator at my residence in the fall of 2023. I am pleased with the installation and the unit. The installation was done by a team which included a very qualified electrician who was experienced with wiring the generating unit into the home electrical system. He was also very knowledgeable about the generating unit itself and its operation. The team also included skilled installers and a plumber who coordinated well with the gas company, which was also very helpful and efficient. In the first year after the installation, we have not experienced a utility outage, fortunately. On Friday of every other week at 4:00 pm the unit automatically starts up and runs at idle for 5 minutes as a scheduled status check exercise. The installation has operated as expected in each of these test runs. Stans performed the annual maintenance check which was performed by Jeremy Rodriguez who was very pleasant, very professional and very knowledgeable of the unit. I recommend Stans.

Earlier???, I had just made the appointment less than 90 minutes before. He was friendly, thorough, explained everything and asked if I had any questions before he left. Outstanding service. I purchased a new HVAC Carrier unit Mar 2023. It included, a Blue Tube UV light product that reduces mold build up in the Condenser Coil. The cost of this product was free ($399, minus a discount of $399).During my routine Gold Service Club visit 18 months after installation, it was determined that the Blue Tub UV light bulb was burnt out. The bulb has a 24 month warranty, and the unit lifetime. According to the tech for him to replace the bulb would cost $300, so I looked on-line to see that the lowest price replacement bulb cost is $126. So Stans charges an excessive labor charge to replace a light bulb.While the manufacturer does warranty the product for 24 months their warranty states that only the original installer can replace the unit, including the bulb. This is for safety reasons. In any case, after the 24 months, the manufacturer recommends replacing the bulb since after that time it will not perform its intended purpose.If you do choose to have a Blue UV installed, even at no cost, expect a replacement charge of $300 every two years. One may want to consider using a high performance MERV 18 filter to eliminate most allergens and mold spores. Just dont open your front door and let mold back into the home.

Stans came through CLUTCH when literally every other shop in town said theyd fix my busted AC in a week or longer. Id seen them in my neighborhood quite a bit in the last year, so I figured to give them a try. I went from phone call to on-site repair in less than four hours, For significantly less than what I was being quoted by other establishments. My tech, Cody, didn’t take long to diagnose the issue and spent a grand total of 30 minutes on site. I could feel the second repairs were done, as cold air blowing in my living room for the first time in more than a day.Prompt? Check. Professional? Absolutely. Fairly priced? Surprisingly so, Especially considering how hot it’s been lately and how easy it would be to price based off of demand (Anybody remember the ice storm of 2021???).Give them a shot. You’ll be glad you did just like my family and I are. I will definitely be giving them a call in my next need, and give them my business going forward, over some of the bigger names with whom I had worked in the past.

I had an emergency water leak behind a wall on an outside faucet’s pipe. The call center was efficient. Stan’s plumber Gabriel showed up within 45 minutes, found the buried water shutoff valve at the curb and made the repair of cutting the copper pipe and installing a new faucet within 30-45 minutes. My only complaint would be the price of $700 (after 5 pm) seemed somewhat high, otherwise I would have rated them a 5 based on performance.

We had stands install a mini split system in our small house in Elgin Texas, 11 years ago. We have had mixed service over the years, including an original install that was flat out dangerous. Based on the fact it was installed with Molly screws rather than into studs. It also didn’t work correctly ever because the installation was incorrect. I wish it had taken less back-and-forth, but we did receive a good outcome with a low replacement cost for our system, which had to be fully replaced due to changing technology and parts.What I really want to make known is that our cleaning and maintenance technician, Samuel Marquez, was excellent! He took apart the wall units more than anyone else ever had, showing me a part I had never seen, and how filthy it was, and explained that was likely causing the condensation. Very polite, very thorough! I will request Samuel in the future.

I bought a new home and discovered my master bath shower wasn’t draining well. Kaleb came out within 2 hrs of my call and found plastic construction debris in the drain which he removed quickly. He cleaned up the shower pan and thanked me for allowing him to provide service to my new home. Very professional, effective and efficient. Did not try to up sell anything but offered me information on a system to deal with calcium deposits that the neighborhood is known for based on a different company I had put to look at my dishwasher. After years of patching my old upstairs central air unit I decided to upgrade and selected Stans for the service. Brandon and Nathaniel, the technicians, showed up 30 minutes early and replaced the A/C , furnace and outdoor compressor unit over the next several hours. They also added another two vents and returns to improve air flow and lower operating costs. Im super-pleased with the work. Installation was in a tight space but they managed to install it text-book perfect as the attached image shows. After installation Brandon walked me through using the new Ecobee thermostat and gave tips on quarterly maintenance to keep it running smoothly. This is the third time Ive called on Stans in 10 years and they have been consistently professional and reliable every time. They also installed my downstairs unit over seven years ago and it has operated flawlessly.

I had a bypass valve break on my tankless water heater. Stans plumber refused to repair the valve unless I agreed to over $1300 in additional upgrades and testing beyond the valve replacement that had nothing to do with my issue (unnecessary gas leak test, expansion tank install, additional shutoff valve install, etc.). The bypass valve required fixing as water was leaking from the broken valve. I was willing to agree to the itemized valve replacement charge but the plumber refused. This was clearly trying to take advantage of someone in a bad situation. Stans also has a $140 weekend visit charge that doesnt apply towards the job proposal. This is out of line with other plumbing companies that charge $40-$50 for a visit and apply it toward the job proposal.

I had a pre paid preventative maintenance service call and tech found a problem that prevented him from completing service. Problem was covered under warranty but still cost $430. When asked why they said it was, in part, a warranty processing fee. I paid it, they came back out, problem was fixed. Next day I get a call saying that I owed another $96 for diagnosing the problem on their pre paid preventative service call.Ive used Stans for years and have thought highly of their service and their company. The nickel and dime petty charges from this last service have changed my opinion. For my next service Ill look at different options.

I had to have the air conditioners replaced during the pandemic and supply was short and the smaller places that I normally use were being out stripped by places like Stans.Well, we all know how bad the summers have been so $17,000 for top end unit that I assumed would lasty 20 years. Not 3 years in and I already have $1,400 repair bill.To boot, install was heinous, but all service providers during the pandemic were. The installers were basically 20-year-old dudes making too much money and too cool for school.Fast forward to the first servicing and I told them the next day something was not working the same. It cooled down and I was ill so I let it go. When I had the units serviced this year I told them again and they implied it was me. Nope a few weeks later the whole unit stopped working, yup it was all in the old chicks head.You wonder why women get irate, this is a perfect example.It is ok though, it looks to be brewing class action suit product based on what I am seeing online and Stans will get roped in because there is absolutely no way that they did not already know that there were issues.Corporate greed at its absolute best, this is what is destroying America, my last units were 30 years old. I really regret replacing the second unit now.Carrier Infinity series, run the other way, Stans do not believe the salespeople.

Had a leaking water heater so I called Stans. They sent a plumber out and gave me a price of $3,660 to replace the water heater. I trusted Stans since I had used them for HVAC since 2003 and first and last time using Stans plumbing.Later I was talking to neighbors and they said that they had paid much less. Checked Lowes and the cost of replacing a 40 gallon water heater was $1,800 and $2,300. Checked Home Depot and the cost was $1,600 and $2,400.I spoke to a manager at Stans and he said the water heater and accessories cost was about $1,800 and for two employees labor was about $1,800 (two employees for 4 hours) thats $450 per hour.I will not renew my HVAC contract with Stans because I have lost my trust in Stans.

After my recent experience with their plumbing service I won’t be calling them again for anything.They missed the leak in the front yard, charged me $3,037 for testing, still couldn’t find the leak and proposed a project costing over $18K to run a new source line. I then asked for a quote from another plumber. He found the leak immediately and fixed it for less than $1K.

No-show, and then they blamed me! I called for an urgent issue and needed a same-day appt for an electrician. They scheduled me for 5-9pm. I got a text at 6:30 saying someone was on the way. No one came, no phone calls. I called at 7:30 and they said theyd message dispatch. I called back at 8:50 and told them no one showed up. By the next morning at 9am, no one called me so I called AGAIN–now my 3rd call. I told the woman who answered what happened, and she said, Well, the notes said he came and you didnt answer the door Not true. Maybe he went to the wrong address but then never called? I said I needed an electrician to come out that morning. She said, oh you need an electrician now? we had you down for H-VAC. WHAT?! disaster. Really poor communication and poor customer service. The technicians are professional and nice, but their service management is very bad. I replaced my HVAC with them in August 2023. After they had installed it, it went out twice in the span of two weeks. The second time, the tech informed me they would need to clean some lines in my house for the system to work properly. I got him to do it under warranty but it was like pulling teeth.In September 2024 the breaker to the A/C blew when the power was shut off at my house. I called Stans at 315 pm and requested a technician come diagnose and fix the problem. I was told a technician would be in touch that day. I called back at 830pm to ask about the status of the ticket and the operator told me they close at 5pm and would not do evening calls (news to me). They called the following day at 659 am to tell me someone would be out between 9-3. The technician who came checked everything and charged me $95 for the service call. He said he didnt carry the right equipment to replace the breaker box but someone would be out that afternoon to install it for $470. I called at 5pm to check on the status and the operator informed me no one could come out for four days. They gave me the number of another electrician they recommended but he doesnt work in the area anymore. I do not recommend this service.

Ive had my new AC and heating unit for a year. In Oct. My neighbor said he could hear my unit cycling off and on every 15 seconds. He was in his garage with door open and my unit is right next to that. Stans sent a service person. He said we need a new coil and we will not get until end of Nov., Today Nov 2 my cooler is not keeping up and I called asked for more freon. That was 6 hours ago. No reply. Granted it is Sat. but because my unit is under warranty I am especially disappointed with your service. I talked to 4 different answering svs employees. My A/C went out around 10:30pm on July 3rd, the day before a pretty hot holiday. I think we all know you dont want to exist in the Texas summer without an A/C. I called a bunch of after-hours emergency A/C repair numbers. Each one of them went to a call center and each one told me they would have a technician call back within 15-30 minutes. Hours went by, multiple calls were made, and I eventually realized that most of them were just lying; they simply had no technicians available and were just intent to make me wait until it was convenient a few days later. So much for emergency repair work.Stans was the one place that called me back. It was already 2am before I finally called them; their technician named Chris called me back within 20 minutes. I explained the problem and he said that hed be there in less than 30 minutes. He showed up, was super friendly, took a look at everything, and was able to fix the problem within an hour. The total bill was only $89.00 - the standard fee for an emergency, after-hours call.Ive saved them to my contacts for all things related to my house repairs and will gladly give them any business related to my HVAC system in the future. I really couldnt recommend these guys more. They were friendly, honest, affordable, quick-to-respond, and truly helped me at a pretty desperate time.

After getting the facts on the least expensive carbon system we chose the copper Fusion system for our whole house. After a few years as a God Sevice Member, I am breaking up with Stans. After multiple bad experiences, with no offer to make it right, we are switching. Here are a few of our experiences:1) We had someone come out to do our maintance check in the spring and they left our AC on permanently which we didnt discover until after 5. They made us an after hours appointment to have someone come turn it off - which no one showed for or called us to tell us that they couldnt make it. We didnt have anyone show up until after 10 am the next day when our house was in the 50s with condensation running down the walls and windows. I called and asked to talk to a manager. I spoke to someone who was interested, but never offered to make it right in any way.2) In general - they have never done anything to help us determine if there is something we need to do to avoid our heat or AC from breaking. Which is kinda one of the main benefits of having the Gold plan. Examples - we have one unit in the attic- they never advised us to go up regularly to poor vinegar down the drainage pipe. It of course backed up with a large charge to get it fixed - which took 2 trips from them. Our other unit (we have an ADU) had a drain line that was not installed originally the right way (by someone else). They never mentioned this to us (this one we did poor vinegar down regularly), after years of service and it backed up causing very expensive damage to our floors. They then charged us a service call to come out and say that it was poorly installed and that we needed to hire a plumber to rerun it.3) We had other after hours appointments with no one to show up with no call to even let us know that they arent coming. We stay up to the 11 call window and they never show. Never an apology or offer to make it right.\.

Price and Shannon worked with us during design to remove basically all of the existing mechanical furdowns and relocate the unit to the attic. I have had Stans come out several times to help both my clients and myself. Each time they have given a no nonsense, affordable solution to the problem. In two circumstances, they were a second opinion. In each of those situations, the other companies recommended a full replacement of the system (they were both less than 4 years old). Stans came in and fixed a few parts costing each client less than $1000 in repairs. For my personal home, I was able to make an appointment after 7 pm for a broken capacitor and had a tech out the next morning with the repair being done in less than 30 minutes. Just had Stans over for my semi-annual inspection. He showed up within the pre-determined time period. They always text when they are on the way which is very helpful. Ricardo A arrived, super professional and very easy on the eyes (never hurts!). You could tell he knew his job well and was super-efficient getting the AC inspection/cleaning completed with filter exchanged as well. If you are going to advertise Emergency Service, you should be able to provide it. 1 star review well earned.***UPDATE***My system finally did go out and I needed an all new system (outside unit, furnace, air handler, etc). When technicians dont feel like working they tell you its not possible or not worth the price. Prices are extreme (charging over $100 for removing some water from the drip tray is outrageous). The job was done poorly and came undone within 2 days. This is the 2nd 4-hour appointment and they are late again. I miss the old company before Stans took over. Make sure to shop around!TLDR: 26% higher on unit, and 273% higher on labor/ductwork.Called Stan’s to get an estimate to replace two units, low 5 figures. Their price was at least 26% higher for the most expensive unit (5-ton variable speed) and their labor/ductwork was at least 273% higher!! That is not a typo, almost 3x.To be fair the project manager that came out was great and the most thorough of the 3 other companies I spoke to, and was the best from an engineering perspective.Just wish Stan’s wasn’t the most expensiveoption by a long shot!

Efrain was excellent. Came to replace a bad soft start assembly for the scroll compressor on the AC unit. Called when arriving and was able to work with him remotely verifying the new part worked. Excellent service, Thx!Once again Stans service was excellent. Samuel did the winter tuneup and repaired a broken condensate line.New issue with the water line from the meter to the house. Was notified by water company that water had been running continuously for more than a day. Found that the leak was after the meter box at the pressure reduction valve fitting in the ground Paul came, dug it out and repaired it in a couple of hours, replaced with new PVC, more robust copper fittings. Nice work, just expensive. $900 for everything, even with $200 of pipe material and $150/hr would have thought that it would have been $500 ish.

I had to purchase a new AC unit back in August, 2015, and have been a loyal customer of Austin Star Heating and Air (the installer) since that time...being thoroughly satisfied with the service they provided me. I was recently informed that Austin Star no longer conducts general maintenance checks on residential AC/HVAC units. The technicians for Stans were on time, 8:00 am. They were professional, nice, easy to talk to. Answered my questions in lay mans terms and told me what I wanted to hear! They worked all day from 8 to almost 5:00, never complained, I could hear them singing, whistling and laughing during the day. Never a negative comment, so positive. Explained everything they were doing, told me items I could replace to help my system, reassured me when there was a slight problem with the electricity. While he was here, I was so impressed that I went on to have some additional work done including correcting some issues with our water softener and adding outlets in the garage so that we can plug our camper in (50 amp). Ok, two stars only because the work they actually did was good. I had paid to also have my hot water heater drain because of mineral build up, it did not happen. It has not rained here in 45 days and my yard and everything around was bone dry. I called and spoke to Brian at Stan ( Service Manager is who I asked for). Immediately he was on the defensive saying, I am sure he did. Facts are, I had turned off my hot water heater the night before because I had a faucet that would not cut off ( thats the part they did right) and after the tech left I checked the water and it was warm. I went out and checked and the hot water heater was still off. So, if the tech had drained the hot water heater and let it run for 45 min two things are for sure, there would be a lot of water in the yard and the water in the tank would be cold since the hot water heater was still off. Its been a week with no reply from Brian. Now, 99.00 is not a lot but it speaks to culture. If they will do it to me over 99.00 they will also do the same to someone else for 1000.00 or 10000.00. Air conditioning went out in the middle of the night during the hottest day of year (111 degrees). To make matters worse we were in the process of moving out of our house so that we could lease it. Ill sadly never hire this company because of the driver operating their company truck yesterday (12/3) afternoon. That driver was super aggressive (not an exaggeration) and I witnessed him come close to causing 2 accidents within 1.5 miles in Leander by HWY183. We were on a maintenance plan with Stan’s after having moved into our house and found that they were the preferred HVAC company for our neighborhood. Called to request service to add a vent to to a new mudroom we are installing. Company said someone would call. Waited 3 business days and did not hear anything. So I called again and was told someone would call. No apology just someone would call. They must be so busy that they do not need new business. So, I ended our maintenance plan and am now on a search for a new HVAC company. Really disappointed that in 2024, companies have lost the professionalism and curtesy so call back in a reasonable time. I am in the sales industry myself and would never think to not call an existing client or prospect back in a timely manner…….. no excuse. They lost me and everyone I know as a customer moving forward.

08/2023: We had our air-conditioning systems put in by Strand Brothers 20 years ago, with the promise of a 16-year lifespan. When the upstairs one finally failed in the heat of the summer this year, we called Stans Heating, Air & Plumbing (where Strand Brothers had moved). They were great 20 years ago, and they were great this year! Each person involved -- the expert who diagnosed the problem, the salesman who drew up our new contract, and the technicians who put the system in -- came exactly when they said they would. The system was replaced promptly and efficiently. It is a high-quality system and works great! We have the semiannual HVAC check up plan with Stans. We have always had a good experience with them and his time was no different.Samuel was AWESOME! He was very thorough, professional and efficient. He found we did need some refrigerant and a capacitor. He did not have the capacitor on his truck but put in a work order for another technician to replace it the following day. We received notification the next day a technician would be back between 2-8 to replace the capacitor.At about 8:45 we thought they were not coming but when I went out to bring our trash bins in from the curb, Samuel pulled up. He said he knew we need the capacitor and wanted to make sure it was installed.He quickly installed the capacitor and was on his way. That is customer service! I went to their webpage and they claim to be able to work on all and any water softeners. After their technician arrive, the first thing out of his mouth was Ive never seen nothing like this before. That gave me a bad feeling right from the start. I googled it, and I could tell him what the problem was. Then he started quoting prices, to do guess work on my unit. He took a picture of the standing water in my salt tank, and texted it to his boss to see if he could help. The point Im making is, Stans knowingly sent out an under-qualified technician to do work on my water softener. They charged me $97.00 for nothing! I called the supervisor on duty and all he had to say was we dont know how to work on everything. I would call that false advertisement, based on their website. What bothered me most, the supervisor wasnt at all concerned about customer service. I would not recommend them for nothing. Stans is the worst plumbing service, Ive ever used!

My AC was acting funky on a Saturday morning and decided that turning off the AC help, so we did that for about 5 or so hours and turned it back on and it was blowing air, but it was warm, so we decided to call Stans Heating, Air, Plumbing and Electrical around 4PM. The lady on the phone was so lovely and kind and said she could have someone out same day between the hours of 4:30-11PM. We were SOOOO happy because the previous place we called stated that they could not have someone out until Thursday (meanwhile it is 100+ degrees outside and will be for the foreseeable future). Surely enough, I received a phone call from Hermann Baggett around 6:30 and he swung by around 6:40 and was probably gone by 7:05/10. He diagnosed and fixed the problem and even helped me figure out my air filter situation. He was so kind and quick and next thing I know my AC is blowing cold air and all is right with the world! I would 100% recommend Stans to anyone experiencing heating, AC, plumbing or electrical issues. They are fast, effective and not terribly expensive!!!

My AC was not working smoothly so I called Stans to come check it out. The tech showed up and told me that the investigation of coil leak would cost $250. Also, the tech asked me to leave from my side-yard so I couldnt see what he was doing. I had signed credit card, thinking that $250 would be the price I had paid. Weeks later, even though Ive asked Stans on the phone, Stans has not sent / emailed me a receipt which explained what works were done that day. Finally, today, I received credit card statement which showed that Stans charged me $364.18. (And I still dont know what items were added to the coil leakage check-up.)I definitely will NOT hire Stans for any HVAC work -- Be it check-up, maintenance, repair, or installation. I needed to have my 30 year old HVAC unit replaced because the compressor was failing. Kevin came out on Friday. He checked out the outside unit, inside unit and even got on a ladder to check the duct work and insulation. Michael came out 615 pm on Saturday and diagnosed the problem and replaced the old thermostat. Could not have been happier with his expertise and quick actions in , my home, outside by the compressor, and in my attic. All accomplished in less than an hour.I was surprised that my thermostat needed replacement. Stan’s replaced my thermostat 16 months ago. What is the lifespan of a thermostat anyways? Would love to hear back from someone on this topic. The thermostats that are stocked in the trucks are suspect . Poor quality? Lot’s of money paid for a thermostat replacement considering how much the retail price of that thermostat is . Warrants a higher quality replacement for this service. I had my regular spring A/C service by another company and they said the unit either needed a new compressor or needed to be replaced completely. I scheduled two more companies to come out for second (and third) opinions. One gave a similar diagnosis but said he wouldnt recommend compressor replacement. He recommended complete replacement of the unit.Jackson Ponder from Stans came and was very thorough in his inspection of the unit. He cleaned it thoroughly, tested everything and said not only did the unit not need to be replaced, the compressor was fine too! He was professional, communicated what he was doing, and did not rush through the work.I will update this review if time tells a different story, but right now Im feeling like Stans was the trustworthy company out of the three I dealt with this week. I also appreciated the professionalism and friendliness of the scheduler I talked to on the phone.

My AC crapped out in the middle of Friday night and I woke up panicked, wondering if I was going to be able to get it fixed on the weekend. Called a few places, but then remebered I had worked with Stans in the past and they had always been great. Sure enough, I called and they were able to send someone out on the same day. Michael came and diagnosed my burnt out capacitor, and was able to fix it all within a half hour. Michael was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, talking me through the issues and answering any questions I might have had. Overall it was a great experience and I will always make Stans my first call when something goes awry with my AC.

We had a faulty cooling system due to power surge during the recent thunderstorm. I was able to get a technician’s appointment the next day morning.Herman, the technician, arrived promptly. He was very communicative and friendly. He explained exactly what he was doing and made sure I understand the diagnostic procedure. He went beyond the scope of his work and explained me how to do basic maintenance. I am glad that Stan’s was able to send such a competent technician. I would definitely recommend Stan’s for any HVAC related services. Cheers!!

Joshua F. and his apprentice was amazing! Very professional, thorough, considerate. Worked around my having to work on the clock at home. They really took care of our unusual plumbing issue with the pipes/spout in our backyard that obviously was not constructed well by the original builder. Josh found the most efficient solution for us while making sure that the fix was solid- and it looked great! So much attention to detail. Their work gave me such piece of mind. Thank you!

Technician Cody Clark provided expert support for our A/C issue when our secondary drain line was dripping from our homes exterior. He came prepared by studying notes in our file from past issues and was very knowledgeable about the entire system. He not only corrected the primary issue, but he also discovered some additional issues unique to our home that he educated me on and fixed as part of the comprehensive service. It was clear Cody has pride in his work and is not just there to get in and out to move onto the next one. He was going to make sure all my needs were met and that I continued to have great ongoing service and support. If all Stan’s techs operate like Cody, then it’s a place that will earn your business.
