Quality Living Services (QLS) HVAC

The gentleman that came out did a good job on a very difficult task. Our A/C is working again - very much appreciated! That said, Im concerned that the furnace fan failed after only being in operation for 1.5 years. It was covered under warranty, that is good, but it makes me question the quality of the unit installed by QLS. I hope you guys track such failures and take it up with the manufacturer if they are too common.

Im so impressed with how honest and straight-shooting QLS was. First, they had a quote that was more than 30% below a bigger-name competitor. Then when the job ran into some hiccups, they probably ended up spending 3-4x more time on it, and in the end they still charged me just the original quote. Highly recommend!!

QLS are professions. They handled a big job for us and had a very timely follow-up when one of the components needed more attention. If need help with AC again, theyll be my first call.

I really appreciate the time the tech took to understand my system and troubleshoot why I was having issues with uneven heating and cooling.

Our technicians, Alex and Luis were prompt, kind, respectful, clean and worked the entire day to get the job done. Told us we could replace the motor or get a new system. We opted for a new system since ours was over 10 years old. Once we told QLS we were going with a new system, they ordered it promptly and we’re out the next morning for the install. We only use QLS for our AC/heating needs. Always reliable and fair pricing. Sounds, looks and cools great!

Casey responded right away and was able to get someone out to repair our A/C the same day. They were professional, thorough and did a great job! We are now planning to use them for annual maintenance and we would definitely call them if any other problems arise.

Everything with the service visit went very smoothly so I hate to be giving this review. This review is because of the follow up after because after they left the AC would not shut off. The visit cost $120 and the service rendered was to change the capacitor, which took about five minutes. They charge $300 more to change this capacitor. Because I was, not familiar with what normal charges would be for this service I of course approved it. After they left, I called the company I had originally wanted to use but they were unavailable. I asked them how much they would charge for replacing the capacitor and they said it would be a total of $287. That’s a big enough difference to be concerned that I just got ripped off. So I called back quality living services to ask about the pricing and I said was the service called not supposed to be part of the labor charges because that would’ve made complete sense on how much I just paid. But she explained no $300 was the parts and labor and then $120 is the flat service fee, even though they were at the house for less than 30 minutes. I asked if I could speak to the service manager and she explained kindly that he was in a meeting but he would give me a call back in the afternoon. Nobody called me back in the afternoon, and as my AC stayed on the entire day and could not regulate temperature. I called back the following day and left a message explaining that that I was disappointed that nobody called me back and I would like somebody to acknowledge me. Again the following day nobody has called me back and I don’t expect to anymore which is why I’m leaving the review. I should’ve gone with who I was referred to the first time because that feels like a more honest company.

The repairmen called to ask if they could come earlier (thanks!). These two men are friendly, have good communication, and are very skilled. They let us ask a lot of questions and watch while they diagnosed the problem (were curious). One of them showed us the cost before they began the work; he realized we were under warranty for the part.We like QLS; they are consistent in service and they are honest and never gouge you. Good people, good owner, good results.

HVAC stopped working and they showed up next day and fixed it without any trouble. Good communication. I recommend this company.

Glad to report a really good experience with QLS!I was worried about the initial diagnosis of my AC unit needing both dampers replaced. My upstairs thermostat had stopped regulating the temp correctly and was cooling consistently too low. Since the initial tech who came out seemed a bit uncertain, I wanted to talk it through before agreeing to the replacement. Sergio then called me, explained the damper issue with expertise and patience and offered to send out a 2nd tech to confirm. The 2nd tech, Ian, arrived a few hours later, and after digging deeper, found that the real culprit was a couple of loose bolts, not the dampers at all. He tightened them up, ran multiple checks on the dampers and arranged to charge me only the initial diagnosis fee - no extra fee for the 2nd visit and his labor! He showed me pictures of the problem and how he fixed, patched and securely taped everything back into place. Ian was prompt, personable and genuinely pleased to be able to save me money. Thank you, QLS, for taking the time to dig deeper! I am very satisfied!

Ive used this company twice. From scheduling to service techs they are on task, on time and somehow the solutions fit in my budget. Great people!Vanessa is a pro at scheduling.Alex fixed my condensate line last year.This years AC maintenance showed I needed a component replaced and Luis handled that with ease. When another issue popped up he came back and fixed that too.Nice guys, professional and honest. Cant ask for more than that!

I got a good deal many years ago on a new A/C system from QLS, and have used them for annual HVAC checkups since. A good business with great responsiveness and honest and fair service. The A/C is still going strong and our electric bill has always been DRAMATICALLY lower!

Alex from QLS was early, which from the start puts them above most service providers and their “arrival windows”.I described the issue and he quickly got to work diagnosing. I consider myself a smart guy, but I only know the straightforward things to check. Alex heard my description and immediately put two-and-two together to figure out what was going on.With the issue identified, he presented my option and told me the costs. He proactively discounted the options because the needed tune-up service includes a service call fee, which is already paid. He easily could have double charged me and wouldn’t have known. But he didn’t.His honesty showed up again when he said I needed to add Freon and quoted the price. I approved and he went to finish the job. He shortly came back and said I didn’t need the extra freon, saving me a couple hundred dollars.Highly recommend Quality Living Services for their professionalism, honesty, and expertise. Today they earned a new lifetime customer.

The technician (Alex Gonzalez) was very informative and upfront about all work and services. He seemed knowledgeable about AC systems and was able to answer any questions I had, additionally he was very through in his work and didn’t leave until he was certain the system was working as intended following the repair. Service was performed within 1 day of the initial evaluation and if I called the offices to other I got a response right away or was called backed within 15 minutes of leaving a message. The rates were very reasonable especially compared with some other companies operating in my area. I plan to continue using their services and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for AC services within their area of operation.

I was referred to this company by someone I know and the only positive is that the next day a tech was at my home. I asked for just an estimate on what it might cost to fix my AC problem. The man was not very professional. He asked to use my restroom after only being in my home for 10 mins. He also told me 3 different times what the problem could me and then changed his mind. He was asking me personal questions which were not anything to do with the AC and after the fact he tried to charge me for labor even though nothing was fixed and no work was done. Agian only supposed to be an estimate. I asked if he did anything or fixed anything he said no, so I asked what the labor is for, I did not approve it. He said we dont come out for free, which I said thats what the service charge is for. He said I could deal with the office then and I have called a couple times no luck. I have yet to recieve my estimate and no one has called to discuss the charges. So I do not recommend. Its been a week since the tech came and if I would have waited for my estimate and his misdiagnosis I would have been suffering in a hot house. I have since already got someone else who came out right away gave a correct diagnosis and fixed the problem.

We had an overinflated estimate from another local company, and were hoping to connect with a smaller more customer focused company whose expertise and service we could trust. We were looking for a good reliable company to get our office system repaired, so we found QLS. They were here the next day and their tech was super nice and took the time to explain the repair. He was very careful with our equipment and made sure to leave a neat work area. I will be using them again for our yearly maintenance services! I 100% recommend them!

My A/C went out on a Sunday. The company I normally use was backlogged by 3 weeks and suggested I call QLS. I called on Monday and spoke to the owner who was fantastic. Set me up with an appointment first thing Tuesday morning. I’m a paramedic and work night shift so he was very accommodating and thoughtful when scheduling. Jamauhl showed up exactly on time and was an absolute professional. He was courteous and thorough. Found 3 issues and fixed them. He had to come back the next morning to replace the thermostat. The front of the house was not cooling and he immediately went into attic and discovered the issue. Called another installation crew who was out in 30 minutes to finish the job. They were equally as professional. They fixed it and now my house is nice and cool again. My dogs certainly appreciate it. I can not say enough about this company and their employees. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

Ive used QLS for a lot of years and always been pleased with their response time and quality of service. This time was no exception. I suspected and QLS confirmed that the small exhaust vent fan was making a lot of noise but was still doing its job and would be safe to run as the rest of the heat cycle was working properly. Since the HVAC is 18 years old it was suggested that we consider replacing the unit rather than just replacing the fan. No pressure or big rush since the unit can be operated safely.

My AC system had a leak this morning. I called QLS and they came out in about 2 hours. Their technician Chris did a thorough job of diagnosing and fixing the problem. The price was also great considering what other companies have charged me. They did great work and service. I would give them a 6th star if I could.

Chris was a great guy, but spent the whole time on the phone being coached by someone. Obviously he did not know about our system. No regard given for a 90 year old in 90+ degree weatherChris and his service manager came back today and worked very hard to get our air-conditioning back up and running. I have to say of the response was very quick and very good. I would recommend them two others if I were asked

I was impressed by KC Walters, owner of Quality Living Services. He solved a problem weve had in our house for 15 years, which is getting the master bedroom cool (or warm) enough. He immediately saw that the installing contractor had not used the right type of vent, so the air was going down and to the sides instead of across the room. Then, KC suggested installing air exchangers between rooms that normally have their doors closed. This was all very inexpensive work, and his guys were very professional, cleaned up after themselves, and did good work. We recommend Quality Living Services to all our friends.

I am grateful for Luis Sepúlveda who was here today to install a new thermostat and check the systems to ensure the highest efficiency of cooling during these hot months. He was great!

Thanks for charging approx $90 to take photos of my heat circulation pump, loosing the screws to the cover so it cannot be reattached and leaving it without telling me. And no follow up the next day as promised on if your co and techs can complete this job. Even though I was told they were qualified on the system I have when I booked the appointment.

The QLS technician showed up on time, and I received a text when he was en route. He was friendly, seemed quite knowledgable and addressed all of the issues to help get my AC unit running more efficiently. Prices seemed reasonable. I would definitely recommend QLS for HVAC needs, and will definitely use them again in the future.

Alex and Greg saved us from a night without A/C. They arrived within 15 minutes of my call after hours and couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. I will recommend these guys to anyone who is needing hvac assistance. Customer service still exists with these guys.

I had QLS out to perform maintenance on my heating system. I do not know when the last time the system was serviced and I feared the worst. QLS let me know that my system was in excellent shape. They inspected and cleaned my furnace and will be following up with some recommendations on how I can continue to maintain and improve my system.

Had condenser go out one one unit. QLS was able to come out same day (108’ outside!). Quickly fixed issue and price was great.

Steve came by exactly on time, and we were very happy with his manner. Easy to talk to and he understood what our problem was. He checked everything and we could not replicate the problem. I have used QLS for everything from complete AC replacement to installing a new wifi thermostat and everything in between. Currently they are cleaning some of my duct work. They discover a construction flaw on how my home was built 25 years ago that was causing problems in my AC ducts. Their whole house forensic root cause analysis approach has made me a true believer. They are on time, professional and I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them.

For over 10 yrs QLS has maintained and serviced our HVAC. This year QLS replaced our ducts and added insulation - and QLS has been incredible. Their bid was highly competitive. QLS has installed 2 systems for me and have always been very professional and courteous. Ive had some issues with both of the systems that were problems with the manufacturer and QLS has taken care of everything. I will continue to use them.

For a service call, it was a bit on the pricey side. I was grateful they came out because I didn’t have any heat but I also found out upon 2nd inspection, no parts were needed to solve the problem... instead I was told my thermostat was going out. In all fairness, one of the 3 other HVAC/plumbers called out should have figured that out as well! 😕UPDATE - The thermostat is not the issue. Something is still wrong with the HVAC unit and I fear it’s going to cost more now to have the issue resolved.

QLS rearranged their schedule on short notice to replace my air conditioner – and spent an unplanned hot day in the attic so we could be comfortable. They also responded positively to my requests for a little extra attention to the outside wiring route. I recommend QLS!

Alex did a great job, both clearing our drainage line and also resetting our electrical connections so that the blower would keep working.

Capacitor blew out causing the A/C to stop working. Jamauhl, the super friendly service tech, had it working and blowing cold in no time. Price was reasonable and about what I was expecting for a service call and part replacement . Would recommend.

I was quoted at a rate for inspection, service and trouble shooting for my HVAC and was charged almost double. If customers are being charged more than they agreed to, this is not right and needs to be fixed.

Quality Living Services (QLS) installed a new Bryant 18 SEER Variable Speed HVAC System at my home in Austin, Texas in January, 2021. It is now July in Austin and the new Bryant system is just humming along very nicely. Both inside and outside units are very quiet. Since I switched to Cooling mode back in May, it has been doing more dehumidifying than cooling which works well in hot, humid Austin and is more energy-efficient while meeting the temperature requirement. I chose QLS and this Bryant system by requesting three bids, comparing the pricing and the products carefully, then selecting the choice that I considered provided best value - that is, best product and service for the money

This service has provided maintenance & repairs for me since 2010. I’m amazed that each technician is exceptional. I highly recommend.

HVAC tech Steve perform heavy duty coil cleaning. Took the time needed to clean and reinstall coil, filter dryer, and check system working. Satisfied and trustworthy company.

Someone needs to tell home repair companies that we should be well past their “pandemic pricing” schemes. Was quoted $2500 today to replace a fan motor in 2-ton condenser unit. The entire condenser can be bought today on Amazon or Walmart for $1600. This insanity (and price gouging) has got to end.
