To anyone looking for your next home. Youd be lucky to deal with Charles R. We bought our first home in Southgate and it all can get a little overwhelming at times. Charles made us feel welcome and heard throughout the process. He was very kind and patient with all the questions we had. I wish you are as lucky as we were to deal with him. Thanks Charles for making the process as easy as it could be!
Charles Rathgeber with the Southgate community was absolutely awesome! He was very responsive and answered any and all questions I had regarding the process of buying my dream home. Highly recommend Charles!
Im a realtor and Ive worked with Chris Nealon, a sales counselor at D.R. Horton, several times because he is simply outstanding in his expertise, attentiveness, and dedication. From the moment my clients and I started exploring new build options, Chriss in-depth knowledge of D.R. Hortons properties and communities was evident. His guidance in helping my clients find the perfect home was invaluable. Chris took the time to understand all my buyers needs and preferences, making the entire process smooth and tailored to them. What truly stood out was Chriss responsiveness. Any question or concern I had or my client had, no matter how small, was met with quick and thorough answers. This level of communication made everyone Ive introduced him to feel valued and assured throughout the journey.Chriss honesty and transparency were refreshing. He provided insights into pricing, features, and the homebuying process without any pressure, allowing my clients to make informed decisions confidently.Even after the sale was completed, Chriss support continued. He followed up to ensure their move-in was seamless and addressed any post-move-in queries promptly. In all aspects, Chris Nealons professionalism and commitment to excellence shine brightly. If youre considering a home purchase with D.R. Horton, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Chris for an unparalleled experience. Their dedication to their clients is truly remarkable.
My team and I have had the pleasure of working with Chris Nealon on multiple occasions, and it has been nothing short of exceptional. He consistently exceeds expectations, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to his clients throughout the entire process, from before the home purchase to well after the closing. Whenever we have a home buyer who works with Chris as their sales counselor, they are always elated with the outcome. We genuinely wish that he could extend his remarkable services to all DR Horton communities, as it would undoubtedly result in an outstanding experience for everyone involved.
3 years in and MY ROOF IS LEAKING. They told me my warranty is up and they won’t fix it, yet roofing should last 15- 20 years. Absolutely horrid to deal with building. They caused so much stress ignoring our complaints and using negligent contractors. We had originally explained we were concerned about the roof and they blew us off. DO NOT DO BUSINESS. You will be out in the cold on your own paying thousands in repairs.
Chris Nealon is an awesome sales agent. From day one to looking at the lot, to the day he handed us the keys, he was always available to let us know what stage our build was at and always kept us updated. He knew the area very well and was able to answer any questions we had about the community. Chris was very personable, honest, and patient! We were very grateful to have him as our sales agent for DR Horton.
I recently just bought my first home in Watermill, and I could not have had a better experience. From the first time I entered the sales office, Chis Nealon was outstanding. He was quick to answer questions, was patient, as I decided on a floor plan, and was always accommodating to anything I needed. He went above and beyond and I could not be happier with my new home!
If I hear about D.R Horton. The name comes into my mind is Charles Rathgeber. He is a great Sales Agent in Southgate community.
I will not recommend you buying DR hortons house, the contractor they use is low quality, I bought a house from DRhorton 2 years ago, last week I found there are roof leaking and turned that a lot of shingles was falling apart, it is only passed two year! . DR horton refuse to fix it to me. The roof company they hire called D &H roofing (not sure if related to DR horton) but if you check the reputation of this roof company you will find similar complaint like mine. DO NOT BUY DR HORTON
I, fortunately, have saved several people from buying DR Horton homes. Their deceptive practices and shoddy work from low-budget contractors are the new DR Horton. Well never buy a home from DR Horton again, and we are thrilled each time we can steer someone else away from them.
Update: DR Horton did fix the address issue with city.Closed a house recently with them. Felt like they dont care much after the closure. My address was showing incorrectly in the citys website. I was told by USPS that the builder has to request to fix the address. I have to follow up multiple times to remind them of the issue and after multiple attempts only reply I get is we did submit right and you need to take care of talking to the city. It felt like I have to figure out all the process by self. Such a pain. Not sure why cant they provide smoother experience for buyer.
Chris Nealon with D.R. Horton homes helped make my dreams of owning a new home come true! He was always available to answer any questions I had and made this a smooth process for me. This was especially helpful because I am a first time home buyer! Thank you for all you did Chris!
I recently purchased a home in the Southgrove development in Kyle TX. Our property did not get irrigation or sod prior to closing due to issues with the City of Kyle. Since that matter has been resolved and irrigation was finally installed a week ago, sod has still not been installed. We have been stood up several times, ignored and left with a yard full of uncovered dirt, which is now a swamp. Our superintendent told us we got bumped because other houses needed to be finished to get to closing so we were left with nothing. That tells you that their priority is getting the money and homeowners can go to hell. The entire experience has been terrible and I would never do business with DR Horton again. This is just one example in an 11 month nightmare with this builder. The construction is shoddy, the finishes are incredibly cheap. I won’t even go into the workers leaving their trash and empty beer cans all over the job site. I’m disgusted by this entire ordeal and I will be filing complaints with every consumer agency in Texas.
Charles W. Rathgeber is so friendly and we experience with him was amazing. We got all information thanks to him. He knows to do him work.
Bought a new home at the end of 2011. So far I have had to repair the roof due to poor installation, have the HVAC fixed twice (improper wiring.), and fix then replace the water heater due to in proper installation. Additionally when purchasing the home they never finished all of the paint and repairs that were requested. The doors not hung correctly and countless other repairs I have made to this new home. They damaged our irrigation system and have not done anything about it. DR Horton needs to work on their quality and brand.
Chris Nealon is my go to sales rep for DR Horton. We’ve built a great relationship over the last few years and he always shoots my clients straight and is great at breaking down the numbers for those monthly payment driven buyers!
We purchased a new home that was in the completion stage of building at the Fairhaven complex in Georgetown, TX. I had the moving company with our household goods scheduled for delivery. Two days before closing we were notified that there was a flooring issue and closing was moved a week forward so they could fix the flooring issue. I had to pay another fee for the household goods to be stored on the moving trailer due to their problems with the flooring. A cost of $450.00. I contacted the company (their sales agent, who forwarded my inquiry)to see if they would reimburse me for the storage fee due to their problem, not mine, and the response was no. No apology from the company, nothing. I will say the sales department and the superintendant on the site were excellent and said they were sorry for what transpired. D.R. Horton company, in my opinion, could care less about you as a customer except when they are trying to sell you a home, which is all talk. The people, as I mentioned earlier, who we worked with, were great and do not reflect the companies attitude towards their customers.
Horrible customer service by the warranty department. I had a sprinkler leak due to bad installation by their terrible sub contractor and poor management by DR Horton. When it finally did get fix after 2 months they managed to ruin my back yard. Left the area in a complete mess with mud and holes everywhere causing a small flood in some areas. When I filed a complain and asked for a reimbursement of two water bills that were over $300 to $400. It took them over 2 weeks to just agree on issuing a reimbursement but never issued anything. I followed up 3 times tagging their whole team (Frank Merola, Blake Phillips, Jennifer Kindel, Kaycee Collins) and not a single courtesy call or reply to let me know the status. It has been over a month now and I still havent heard anything back. Very frustrating since these are trouble times with covid and people struggling to make payments. I dont recommend this builder and for the next house I purchase in around 3 years I would definitely not purchase from DR Horton again! Word of advise if you do purchase their home. Hold on to the survey before giving a positive review. I definitely wrote mine after these incidents.
I closed on my home on January 2015, since then I have had more than a handful of problems with my home. From my AC unit being replaced, to the layout of my property and poor drainage design. Drywall was cracking my floor and carpet are horrible! The floor is peeling they came out to repair but it only made it worse and did not look very clean. I have a hole between two roof elevations and I was having rodent climb into my attic, you can actually see in my attic between two elevations, I had a guy come out and tell me its within standard literally stood on my sidewalk and left. Now my roof is leaking in a different area through my ceiling into my pantry, drywall damage insulation is damaged the roof is soaking wet and Im being told now that Im WAY out of my warranty. When I was looking for a home I was looking for Dr Horton as Ive heard many good things but so far Im getting the bad end of it. JUST OVER YEAR 2 and Im dealing with this crap!Perhaps if OSHA gets involved things will get done. Im pretty positive adolescent boys are not supposed to be building our homes. As I have seen that are currently building homes in the neighborhood.I am currently trying to get in touch with the warranty and I will keep up-to-date with the answers I get.
My DR Horton customer experience has been terrible. 1st time home buyer and I thought this would be a fun time. So far the only responsive, polite and courteous individuals have been the fellows building the house. Super Disappointing! Completely unnecessary! When was customer service and empathy a thing of the past. Thanks for listening social media! Although I dont expect any of my several messages to receive a response, one can still hope. Sierra H.
I purchased a DR Horton home in Briarcreek, which is a subdivision in Manor. I purchased the property in 2009 and it was built in 2003. I have been unable to sale my home because the foundation is off by nearly 10 inches. The engineers and foundation repair companies that have inspected the property, have all said the home was likely built on fill dirt that was not compressed properly. I have yet to receive a call back from DR Horton and now I am stuck with a 10 year old home with a major structural problem that will cost me over 10k to remedy. I will never buy or encourage anyone else to buy a DR Horton home. These home are poorly constructed cookie cutter homes and mine has turned into the home from hell!
Exceptional experience with the Chris Nealon! He is always available even on his days off he will meet me and my clients at the office. The professionalism, knowledge, and responsiveness are outstanding. He guided us through the entire home-buying process, answering all our questions with patience and clarity. Thanks to his expertise, my client found her perfect home that meets all her needs. Highly recommend this Chris Nealon for anyone looking to buy a new home.
Chris is the best. He believed in us from the beginning. Even dough we were a young couple buying our first home he was really profesional and never left us true the whole process. Thank you Chris!
Houses are built cheap and it shows. They use window trim for base boards. The thermostats they use are not up to city or state efficiency standards. The windows are also not efficient for heating or cooling. The shingles they use for the roof arent even rated for 10 years. The house outdoor wall panels will start to lift away from the house before its even 10 years old, they used nails, not screws. The fences will fall apart before 10 years. I have more I could list... How do I know all this. Because I had to do all the work on my own time and dime. Cant wait to be out the second D.R. Horton house I have had the joy of living in. Should have learned the first time. Stay away from them.
We were looking for a house that will accommodate the needs of our combining multigen households. After having difficulty finding what we were looking for within our budget, we went out on a limb and visited with Danielle Robert. She took the time to listen to our story; she fully understood our desire for independence and privacy paired with the necessity to easily support each others medical and mental health needs. She worked closely with our awesome realtor, Kelly Freeman, to find the perfect floorplan on the perfect lot within our budget.Danielles empathy and compassion for our situation was abundantly clear from the start, and her genuineness has truly made the home buying process a positive, stress-free experience - and not just at the time of the sale but throughout the entire building process. Ive lost count the times shes gone above and beyond for us, and the builder, Garret, has kept me informed throughout the entire building process. Kristen and Margaret with DHI Mortgage have been just as empathic, understanding, proactive, and easy to work with. We truly have a team of rockstars! This new house represents a new chapter for my family - more security and less stress for my parents, an opportunity to make up for lost time for all of us, and financial security and a fresh start for me. Danielle and all of the DR Horton Austin team made this difficult process as easy as it gets, and I am immeasurably grateful to them for being such an integral piece to my familys journey! We cannot wait to move in later this month and soak up the beautiful sunsets from our back porch while watching the deer graze on the greenbelt behind us!
Yes, this was on closing day after builder walk through and said it was ready. Nothing else more I can say. The pictures say it all.
I have purchased 2 DR Horton homes while working for other builders where I could have gotten an employee discount. The quality, locations and value for my investment were only elevated by the service I received during and after purchasing.
Natalie Smeby the marketing representative helped me recently. Her professional courtesy and knowledge of the Central Texas Market was welcomed and appreciated. She allowed me to express my concerns and made recommendations that I appreciated. She is a pleasure to work with, many thanks.
Great builder, love the homes and the staff is fantastic.Summer Crown and Eddie of DHI, Rock! Chris Nealon, David Solis, Charlie Rathgeberg e.t.c are Awesome! Love doing business with them.Go D.R. Horton, you cant go wrong.
We love our new home in Walnut Creek Enclave! The DR Horton staff made our experience fun and enjoyable from the start to after we moved in. They are very helpful and professional.
Top concerns/issues Impacting our Community.CONCERNS reported by HOMEOWNERS to our HAO Board1. Traffic volume/speeding - This is impacting the safety, noise levels and value of our properties.2. Overnight street parking and Corner Parking make driving in our community extremely dangerous.3. The number of Investment properties in our community is at over 20% (shocking).4. High Number of Units have multi-families living in the same house.
My kids live in RR Turtle Creek. They get a theatning email from HOA about grass being brown. This is B\S. Not everyone can water daily nor afford sprinkler systems. This is discrimination against poor people. If I see one more message of this such I will help all file a class action lawsuit against this HOA
Fast prompt service. Only gripe is house in kyle and title was n austin so spent bout Halfday to make trek and sign and come back to close in rush hour austin traffic
Currently looking at homes and its difficult when they spam every realty site with irrelevant listings. Theyre advertising every possible floorplan they have on every possible realty site. Itd be fine if they were actually available. Can you guys please remove these? I dont know how this possibly benefits you in any way - its annoying and sketchy
I’m a new homeowner , just bought this new home in Fairhaven Georgetown Tx, I still have unresolved issue with my yard, DR Horton just doesn’t care about customer, been two month living here and I’m not happy at all with DR Horton work, to much promise, not one get job done....I’m been talking with so many superintendent for DR Horton construction and all they do is just talk and more talk, but not one get job done, keep promise, make me waste my time to meeting here at home one and other time and nothing happen, today December 7, 2020 I still have not resolved the issue with my yard, and I close this home in October 2, 2020

My experience with DR Horton and people who work there as been amazing.
I have been in my home for 3 years now & D R Horton has been their for me on everything
DR Horton is consistent in quality and customer service.
Abysmal build quality and is impossible to work with.
Crestview is a great neighborhood!
Great company with great people!
Nice place
