Amazing service and experience. Right from the owner coming in and establishing trust, to the scheduling crew as well as the technicians that did the install and the final check as well. They worked quickly and were prompt about their timing. Overall, I will gladly use them again.

Im optimistic that my concerns will be addressed and will adjust my review after)Hired A+ to install a water heater that would get the city rebate as they were listed by Austin Energy as an approved vendor. The installation was very much not to code and the plumber never filed any of the permits (I asked if any were necessary). The city (rightfully) refused to give the rebate, and I only found out about the permits when I confronted them about the issue. Honestly, I dont want them on my property any more after the number of basic mistakes they made (for instance, the drain pan is not connected to a drain)On a separate note, it took over two months after the installation for them to give me a bill, despite phone calls every week after. When I finally got the bill, I drove to the office and paid in full via check. Im very glad I got them to email me that I had paid in full because 6 months later, I received a phone call from them telling me that I had not paid in full. After some back and forth, they finally admitted that I had in fact paid in full and had made a mistake.
A-Plus was supremely efficient from start to finish, and our new unit was installed in no time. Greg explained every detail with great clarity at our residence, and Andy was always accessible and helpful over the phone. We’re very pleased with both the performance and affordability of our new HVAC system, and we have appreciated the high quality of the company’s sales, technical, and service staff. After receiving a considerably higher estimate for the job (almost twice as much) from a slick corporate outfit, we’re glad that we chose an independent and locally-owned company that retains the values of old Austin.

Ammmmaaazing!They did all my updates on my house worked diligently to weatherize everything with great workmanship and updated all my events cleaned out my AC units added all authorization to my home and their work looks great. I would highly recommend this company to top that they are really kind and super easy to work with. For anyone looking to install a new hvac system definitely look elsewhere. I usually don’t leave reviews but I’m still dealing with the mistakes this company has made installing my new system. It has mainly been around the zoning board that was installed when we asked for our system to be zoned. We would have issues with our system suddenly not working when switching from heat to air and vice versa. We had A+ technicians look to fix our issues and it would be fixed only for the same issue of it suddenly not working to appear again. Finally through a separate company we were able to diagnose that the wiring on the zoning board was not properly installed and it eventually caused our heat pump motor to completely stop working. We were under the impression that A-Plus had installed zoning systems previously but after multiple attempts to fix issues by their own technicians we were still having problems until getting a second opinion.

Greg and his team did a great job. Greg is very knowledgeable and started designing out our HVAC duct replacement that I requested the moment he was out inspecting our home. He even accommodated an addition we are putting in no problem. You know you are gonna get a good result from a pro when they are mathing out the design in real time onsite.So happy with the improved air flow and sizing they did. Our office used to be sweltering while the rest of the house was frigid but now it is nice and consistent throughout.I was also very pleased with how quickly we went from initial consult, to design, to installation for such a big job in under 2 weeks! Even better, they didnt push any hokey features just exactly what we wanted. I will definitely be using A-Plus for all my future HVAC needs.

A-plus gets an A-plus! My AC went out in the hot Texas summer. I received 3 quotes for a new HVAC unit. I spent a day reading tons of reviews from each place I received quotes from and was overwhelmed. I ended up choosing A-plus because they are a family-owned company that has been around Austin for a long time. Josh and Andee were awesome to work with! The Install Team was absolutely amazing! They were so great, so nice, and so professional. They did not have an easy task, as my unit is on the roof! There was a crazy event that happened that forced them to stop work (to no fault of theirs). And they were so nice and professional about the hiccup in their work schedule. I cannot recommend A-plus enough!

Angel diagnosed my AC problem and explained everything. He went to Kyle for the part and returned quickly. He had the unit up and running shortly after. I was very satisfied with the job he did.
I called to have my air vents repaired/replaced. Solomon came out and did an inspection. He said their was extensive damage and he would take the pics back and have an estimate sent to me for repairs. This was back on Oct 16th. I told Solomon I wouldnt be available again until Oct. 18th. Just as note, Solomon was very prossional and courteous. On Monday, Oct. 21, I called the office and they said yhey would check on status and call me back. Today, Oct. 23rd I called again since I hadnt heard from anyone. Again they took a message. I did not get a return call. At this point I would think they should just refund my $220 they charged me so I can get my vents fixed. I have dust on everything in my house from these holes and I need to get this repaired.
Greg is the best! He is professional, listens to your concerns, including your budget and will find the right system for you. He promised and over delivered on every aspect of the purchase and installation. Of all the companies I dealt with, Greg was the only one who consistently stayed in touch, kept me updated and patiently answered my questions. I like working with a family owned business and each member of his staff approached the relationship the same way. Everyone I dealt with was cheerful, courteous, helpful and kind. I can’t say enough good things, I can just enjoy my new system and be thankful for the relationship and care I received.
Charles came by to give us an estimate. He came on time and did a good job of explaining everything to us. He also struck us as a straight shooter who wasn’t trying to get us to buy something we didn’t need.
So far weve had a great experience with A-Plus, they did plumbing work for us a few years ago and has been working very well. Then on Friday June 16th I called and they came over immediately to see what our plumbing issue was. Waiting for an estimate at this point, but Im very pleased with their service so far.

Another Not Trustworthy HVAC in AustinI had a leaking Evaporator which is under manufacturer warranty. They took my new replacement part for themselves and gave me a all beat up old part as the replacement part. Then the HVAC tech while he replaced my leaking Evaporator with their old part, he turned my water heaters flush faucet on trying to create a new problem for me to call them again later.
Really just not enough great things to say about them! On time, excellent communication, respectful, efficient, and fun to talk to! Id definitely do business with them again and again!
Weve been using A-Plus for our routine service and have been very happy. When our old system finally died, they were very responsive, installing a new system within a couple of days. Their communication before, during and after the install was outstanding - definite recommend!

I hired A+ about 4 years ago when I needed to replace my systems because of recommendations from our friends. They had the most reasonable estimates and were open and honest about every aspect of the quote. Fast forward to last week when our rental property required emergency AC work and the HVAC company that my property manager hired charged us an arm and a leg to replace a control board and then quoted us on full system replacement vs coil replacement which were both on the very high side in terms of cost.Since I trusted A+, I had them come and inspect to give a second opinion and if it truly needed replacement, then I would have gone with A+. Charles, our technician, performed the inspection and determined that there was little to no measurable leak and that the current 8 year old system should still have plenty of life in it. So the advice was not to replace or even make any major repairs aside from a quick patch of the plenum.Based on both my experiences with A+, they will be my default for any future HVAC issues.

Their office responded immediately to my call on a Sunday of a summer holiday weekend. The tech was at my house exactly on time, diagnosed the problem, had and installed the part and had the AC back working in 15 minutes. The tech was knowledgeable, courteous and very efficient.
I called A Plus to schedule an initial visit to see if what I wanted could be accomplished in the 40 hours. They said that they would call me back to schedule it. After a week, I called back. They said they would call back. They never did, so I called back after another week. Finally, we scheduled their initial visit.Josh & Gilbert show up to see the space. Gilbert was very professional and seemed very competent. I was not really sure why Josh was even there, but he was not very professional. While we were talking about the project, he plopped himself down and laid down on our bed. Im not the most anal person, but I dont like sweaty strangers resting on my pillows. Gilbert sounded confident he could do the project in 40 hours; Josh kept telling me how he doubted it could be (and that it would be $80/hr after the 40).A few days out from when they were supposed to start, they called and said they had to pull Gilbert to another job, and they would reschedule. 2-3 weeks went by, and they never called. After pestering them with phone calls, they finally rescheduled. This time they actually showed up.They started the project on 11/21 and worked the following schedule:11/21 - 5 hours 20 min (but they tried to charge me 7 hours to include travelling time. I said, No, I am paying for 40 hours of labor. Getting to my house is the cost of doing business.)11/22 - 3:2511/23 - 3:35 (but there were two people, so 7:10 in man hours)11/25 - 3:30 (again, two people, so 7:00 man hours)...Now, here I guess they needed to pull Gilbert to a more lucrative job...so, they said they would schedule the rest of the project for the next week...the next week came and went with no call. A pattern had developed by this point, so I started pestering Katie (the phone lady) earlier. Gilbert finally returned on:12/14 - 2:1512/15 - 5:1512/16 - 6:00Gilbert had to go somewhere else again, so they finally finished the job on 12/21...a month after they started, and two months after they said they were going to start.Now, the work itself sucked pretty bad. Electrical outlets needed to be cut; well they were cut too big, so they just put a glob of plaster in there. Plaster is not drywall, and it breaks. Now, whenever we flip the switch, it moves into the wall, because the flanges are not resting on the drywall.They removed a window, and installed Hardiplank. It looks like crap, and I question its ability to keep out a good storm.Gilbert did do a good job of spraying texture. However, he did not cover up anything even though I had provided three plastic sheets and a painter’s tarp. There was paint texture on our ceiling fan, bed footboard, leather ottoman, the electrical outlets and switches, and all over the carpet. We cleaned it up, but this is not what really ticked me off.I purchased pre-hung French closet doors. They were sitting in the room the entire month of the project. Now, by this point they were trying to get outside the 40 hours quickly. They were stepping outside to take calls regularly. So, by the time they finished texturing, it was beyond 40 hours, and I would need to pay the regular $80/hr rate. I was pretty irritated at this point, and just wanted them out. I can hang a closet door....If the doorframe was built to fit the closet door...I went to install it myself. The door is 80 tall. Pretty typical. Almost all doors at Home Depot or Lowes are 80 tall. The doorframe was not 80 tall. It was 79 1/2 inches tall. For a very brief moment, I thought about having them come out to fix it, but I figured that would take another month or two, and they would be trying to charge me for every little thing again. It was easier for me to just saw off an inch of the pre-hung frame. I got the doors in fine. Now though, because the doors are not as high as carpet makers assume a closet door would be, the doors drag on the carpet and it takes real force to open and close them.
From the ductwork to insulation the work was performed with care and professionalism.The ac grill installation, attic zipper installation, and lights that I could not change on my stairway were done by Dave and Kevin. They were meticulous and very professional with their work.Carmen did a great job with attic insulation too.The whole process was very organized. I was impressed.
Hunter from A Plus Air Conditioning fixed my air conditioner problem two days ago. He was quite knowledgeable and very reasonable in his price.My AC was not blowing any cold air. Since it was under warranty, I called the original dealer (I did not have to). Their technician diagnosed the problem as caused by TXV and the part and labor were going to cost over $2200. My cost for labor would have been over $1140.Since the cost appeared to be too high, I called David of A Plus and he sent this smart young man Hunter. Hunter quickly suspected my blower motor and found that it was not working. After all it was not a TXV problem. He replaced the motor within an hour and my AC started working properly. The total labor cost was close to $450 plus the initial diagnosis cost of $89.However Hunter was smart enough to convince me to purchase an annual maintenance contract for two units for $340 which also gave a 15% discount on the previously mentioned prices.These guys are very good and not greedy. Based on my experience, I will strongly recommend Hunter and his company for Air Conditioner problems. They do take care of heating systems too.
I had a great experience working with Solomon. He was courteous and extremely knowledgeable. And I let the dispatch know that I was hosting a special occasion when my AC broke, and they sent help in an hour. Amazing.

The installation process went quickly and smoothly. I appreciate the fact that the installers were attentive to detail and did a neat job. Its spring and so far, the weather has been hovering in the comfort zone, so I havent had an opportunity yet to actually use the air conditioner and to comment on the performance of the Lennox I purchased.
Solomon exceeded my expectations after watching techs for over 50 yrs. He’s very thorough and explains findings. He cleaned the outside unit better than anyone I’ve watched. Extremely friendly and outgoing. A+ you have a keeper in this guy!
We had our a/c replaced by A-Plus last year and have had no issues. We had them out for a check up and get on a maintenance plan and the technician, Charles, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure everything was working as it should and was happy to answer any questions. He was beyond understanding of our newly adopted puppy who jumped to greet him, and didnt bat an eye when he was covered in stickers near our a/c unit. I felt so bad but he kept such a pleasant demeanor and even shared how he just got past the puppy stage with his own pup. Every interaction with A-Plus has been wonderful. They are efficient, friendly and happy to answer any questions. Happy to continue business with them!

I appreciated the communication with the manager. He tolls me when the technician would show up, which was just before 8am. They finished by 11. I have no idea whether the coil they put in will last, but they were courteous and efficient.

This company was wonderful. The person on the phone was easy to communicate with regarding our problem with the AC unit. The repair technician came out to our house within 1.5 hours from the time I called! Solomon correctly diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes, and had it fixed in about 10 minutes more. Solomon and was very knowledgeable and generous in sharing his knowledge about out AC system and how to extend its useful lifespan. There was a reasonable charge to come to the house and diagnose and fix the problem and while we had Solomon here we also did some preventative maintenance replacement of the capacitor, which the internet suggested was also done for the correct fair price. I will be using this company in the future for our HVAC repairs/new purchases.
Josh was great. Explained all the details on our new AC/Heat system for our house. The installers Isaac and Jose were the best. Worked as soon as they arrived and didn’t stop till done. Andee and the dog crew at the office was very good as well. The insulation crew were great. They worked around a few obstacles in the attic with no complaints. I would use A Plus again if needed. Update 12/16/2024:APlus remains my Go To company for HVAC servicing at my home & rental properties. Their bi-annual maintenance plan is currently $182 (for 1 unit,) and includes a discount on any repairs needed throughout the year. I appreciate the checklist they go thru and that they write down the gauge readings, pressures & temp differential, so it can be tracked over time. I needed the serial # of my A/C last year, and saved myself a trip into the hot attic because it was written on the paperwork from last checkup. Thanks for quick scheduling, and professional service people!Update 9/18/23:Angel consistently provides excellent service & problem-solving. He explains options clearly and makes even the bad news easier to swallow! I know APlus maintence program with 2 service calls a year has extended the life of the unit at this house.Update 6/2020:Time for my twice/yearly visit from APlus A/C! Not only do they remind me when its due, but they call when on their way, so I dont waste time waiting in a huge service window.Kyle arrived on time, & was wearing PPE, so I didnt have to ask, nor was I concerned with him being inside my house.. After working inside & out, he gave me a detailed written report, and fully explained steps I could take to lengthen the life of my HVAC system. Now Im off to buy a new A/C filter.... Gulp!I love having APlusA/C service my HVAC at my personal home, and many rental properties. I always get good maintenance tips and the staff & service tech are friendly & respectful.

Manage to get an appointment with A+ Air Conditioning a day after my call. Happy to get them in before an upcoming cold front. Charles came over and confirmed that we had a motor issue with our condensor and was able to get it replaced within 2 hours. Knowledge, timeless and customer service were excellent. Even got some great maintenance tips for system.
I ask to blow out unit I the ac/ heat drain system and he wanted to change 129.00$ when u can get a service agreement for 180.00 plus a year . A 8 min task and he comes up wit a ridiculous price.
The technician who came to perform our a/c check did an excellent job. Solomon P arrived on time and quickly checked out our system. He identified some components that were not within normal operating tolerance and after discussing it with us he replaced those parts. Having a dependable a/c unit is important in central Texas. We have had A-Plus working on our systems for many years. Technicians like Solomon are one of the reasons we have.
During a routine check of our AC, another company told us that we needed a new AC unit. We decided to get a second opinion and contacted A-Plus Air Conditioning. Jacob, our technician did a thorough job of evaluating our unit and told us that everything looked fine and that he did not think we needed to replace our AC at this time. He saved us close to $30,000! We will be using A-Plus from now on and are canceling our service contract with the other company.

My central AC broke in the middle of the night on a hot day, so I needed it fixed as soon as possible. After I called them in the morning, they were able to arrive before noon. They quickly diagnosed the issue, which was a clogged drain buried under several inches of mud, and were able to flush it out quickly. Initially, the service wasnt covered under my warranty, because it wasnt an issue with the unit itself, but A-Plus was very kind to allow coverage anyways, making the service free! They also gave me advice on elevating the drain pipe and routinely flushing out the drain, which will ensure that this doesnt have to happen again.
Hunter did a nice and explained everything he did and explained in detail to me before he left.
Andee has been a great help. She patiently answered my questions over the installation with a cheerful attitude. And I called often. She really made a great effort to meet my needs as a customer. She kept the process going smoothly. And really all of the staff have been professional, considerate and nice.

On the day of my scheduled appointment for a complete AC/Heating inspection, I was contacted by the A+ office saying that their technician will be at our address in 20 minutes.Charles, an experienced technician that I had at a previous appointment, was on time and announced for what he was scheduled to complete. Following his inspection of two AC units, he expertly and clearly explained and revealed his findings. After asking me if I was using my phone to control the existing Ecobee thermostat and acknowledging my response, he volunteered to help me download the application for the Ecobee thermostat which had been previously placed by them. I am very impressed with A+ service. It is something definitely ‘above and beyond’. Something not seen often in many businesses today.

With a heat wave approaching, we called A-Plus to schedule an AC check up. They were very responsive and able to send a technician the next morning. Angel arrived on time and did an excellent job. We have used A-Plus for almost as long as we have lived in our 30-year old home and dont intend to ever change companies because we have been so pleased with how they do business.They installed the first Lennox HVAC system years ago & now a second one. Always providing quick, courteous, competent & reliable service & communication. Always a live person to talk with when we have called-- they even have an after hours call line for emergencies.The paperwork that needed to be completed for the new system was pretty involved & complicated, but needed to be done to qualify for warranties, current rebates & tax credits, etc.Their wonderful, kind & very knowledgeable coordinator, Andrea, patiently provided the needed details, explaining everything to our complete satisfaction. This meant so much to us! I had another HVAC company come out because I was getting high humidity readings on my Ecobee thermostat. They wouldn’t work on my AC unit because it’s over 10 years old (it’s only 11 years old), and they tried to sell me a new $12k hvac system. I called A Plus for a second opinion, and they sent Angel out the next day, who thoroughly explained the readings he took, flushed out my drain line, and reassured me that my unit is working well and likely is an inaccurate reading on my newly installed thermostats. I very much appreciate Angel’s honesty and thoroughness. I plan on purchasing a humidity reader to calibrate my Ecobee.

Ours was the first fence using Trex® that A-Plus had built. The guys arrived promptly and had obviously closely studied how to assemble the fence. They took out overgrowth that was in the way and worked steadily until the fence was complete. Weve had many complements on the new fence already.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. Extremely responsive, showed up on time to give me a quote and Josh took the time to explain everything in detail. He even caught some error another company made in their quote which would save me a significant amount of money. We returned home from vacation to find our A/C running intermittently. The thermostat kept shutting down and turning back on. Our A/C was doing the same, and the temps in the house were rising. It was after hours (7:15 PM) and we really needed help because temps outside were over 100 degrees. When the air conditioning in my rental house began to fail, I called A-plus to see if the unit could be fixed and perhaps last for another summer. The technician promptly came the next day but the verdict on the ac unit was terminal. A-Plus quickly presented a proposal to replace the unit and had the unit replaced before the old unit completely died. Amended review: my previous review was inaccurate do you getting mixed up with a different tech from a different company with regard to appearance concerns. My apologies for the miscommunication.I requested a service call from this place on a Saturday and they sent someone out that morning. He was very nice and cordial and seemed to know what he was doing.He gave me a quote on the price of replacement for the part that he assessed as bad. After he left and I reviewed the quote, it was unclear if this price included installation or was only for the part. He had left by that time so I could not clarify.Attempting to gather more information I called and spoke to a rep who told me I couldn’t find out what I was wanting to know until Monday. He said he would have David call me Monday morning.This is now Friday after and I have yet to hear from someone. This was a company I had used previously.I ended up using a different company for my service needs.

This is how a business should be run. They make sure they provide full value for your money. There is no dragging out the time necessary for a repair in order to duck or inflate costs for additional work that needs to be performed. Frankly, I was unprepared for everything they can do. I recommend that if you decide to use A-Plus for a repair that you first tour your house and write a list of any maintenance items you need performed. That way, if they are finishing items faster than you expected, you can get full value for your money for their minimum 4 hour job time period.Kevin was the person who came to our house and he was impressive. First we had him work on fixing loose fence posts and adjusting the gates into the backyard which had become difficult to open. While working on this he took the initiative to check the outdoor vent from our dryer and cleaned that for us. As we realized we had someone who was skilled, and willing to give full value for the amount charged, we had him clean out and adjust three locks on our front and back doors, adjust a doorbell that had stopped working, and hang a shutter that had fallen down. We still had time left over.Due to the skill and work ethic of Kevin, I have decided to use him for some future repairs to my home. Overall, I am very impressed with this business. From, my first experience it seems to have old-fashioned values of providing full value for your money despite the rush-rush ethic of modern society. I will post a future review to highlight how my additional home repairs go.
We contacted A Plus to remodel our bathroom. Josh was out the next day to assess the job. He got back to us 2 days later with the quote. We agreed to the price and work began the next morning. Stacey was a dream to work with and updated us daily about scheduling. All the subcontractors were here on time, accomplished their tasks and cleaned up on their way out. The entire job wrapped up in about three weeks. (a neighbor is still struggling with a bathroom remodel after four months!) We couldnt be more pleased with the end result. Its a huge improvement and a joy to experience. We highly recommend A PLUS!!!
The “Texas Summer Nightmare” of having your AC go out happened in the middle of the night to us last night. I was able to contact A+ and they had Hunter come right out today and took care of it. He also showed us how to better maintain our unit in the future. No upsells or hassles. Just good honest work for a fair price.
A+ installation staff were highly competent, very knowledgeable and friendly. They had new AC unit installed in my home and have it running in no time. After the work, they cleaned and vacuumed all the debris from the work. I am extremely satisfied with installation and will highly recommend them.
I don’t know what I would do without A-Plus! Before I found A-Plus I’d tried various handymen and contractors of one sort and another to do work on my home and at a couple of rental properties that I own, but nobody has offered the same level of service at such reasonable prices. They’ve done many repairs, painting, re-tiling, “make-ready” tasks when tenants are moving out, and have helped me locate other outside contractors when needed. Their management and staff are all easy to deal with--cheerful, responsive and ready to take the time for an in-depth discussion of the project in question. Josh and Craig have been particularly patient with a recent project of mine which has involved a lot of e-mails and messages concerning changes of plan, and Josh went to a huge amount of trouble to get exactly the product I wanted when replacing some doors that were past their prime. The technicians are great: Kevin and Edward have done really excellent work for me recently, and both are smart about what they do, making sensible suggestions about alternative approaches to specific problems. It’s nice to know that there are still people like them out there who take real pride in their work! With A-Plus I am always confident that my messages will be returned, that someone will turn up when scheduled, that my concerns will be listened to, and that the job will be done right. And when they leave, they clean up properly and haul away anything that can’t be easily disposed of through the regular trash and recycling bins. I highly recommend them!
Kevin (handyman) was very professional and knowledgeable. I had a number of honey do items for him and he finished all of them, and then some that werent on my original list, in the time allotted. He did the jobs in the priority that I had them listed, explaining as he went along, advising on some other items that I plan to address myself and had questions about. My two small grandsons were enthralled with everything he was doing, asking questions the whole time as they love to build things. Kevin was very patient with them, answered their questions, and let them watch him work. Kevin is a hard worker. He used the best methods available to complete my projects so that they were done correctly and would last. I would definitely hire A-Plus and Kevin again!

Have been using them since i can remember, and when our old HVAC finally died at the beginning of this summer, they got us up and running with a new system swiftly and as affordable as possible.
We had been having problems with a loud noise from our a/c and inconsistent air conditioning temperatures. We got an estimate from one of the larger , well rated local companies who thought we should replace the whole unit for somewhere btw $15-30k. We decided to try Aplus as local smaller business. From the moment Hunter got here he knew what was wrong, made a quick trip to get some parts, came back and made our repairs in less than an hour. He was thorough and explained all of our options. The repairs were a small fraction of the other estimates provided. Aplus has won our business for any future repairs in plumbing, HVAC or electrical. They were a great business. We are grateful to have had their help.

I tried changing out and electrical switch myself, but it went terribly wrong and the whole breaker went out (which included the hot water heater). Stacy at A-Plus was incredibly helpful and we had an electrician out within a few hours. The repair was done within an hour and its been working great since. Great customer service and I was shocked to get someone out so quickly.

The forced-air blower on our 10-year old HVAC stopped working on a winter day. Fortunately, A-Plus was able to diagnose and replace the unit on the same day. 10/10 would recommend!

While searching for a repair company that would be open on Sunday, I found A-Plus. I called them as soon as they opened and their customer service is remarkable. They were able to send out a tech later that afternoon (Jeremy). Jeremy was very friendly and communicative as he diagnosed what the issue was with my unit.He discovered that the control board on my furnace went out and relayed this to his boss to get a replacement on order. Of course, it being Memorial Day, nobody was open so I had to wait until Tuesday for Jeremy to replace the board. Upon replacing the board, he noticed the pressure wasnt functioning properly and the suspected defect was the TXV valve.David (who was very prompt in calling me every day with updates) suspected that maybe the coil had frost on it and that the fan needed to run for a few hours. When I told him that didnt work, he later informed me that there was a component that needed to come off of the old board and installed on the new board that was missed (inadvertently) and he would send Jeremy back to install it. THIS is where the 5 star rating cemented itself: Jeremy came back to install the component. He also assumed that the TXV valve wasnt the issue...he was right. He examined the box where the coil resides and discovered that some of the insulation had gotten wet and was being sucked into the coil which gave the impression the TXV valve was faulty. He removed it all and not only did the unit flow strongly, it was blowing out cooler air! Tremendous heads-up thinking.Tl;dr: This company cares about their customers satisfaction and will go the extra mile in diagnosing and servicing! Highly recommended!Update 10/31/23 - Donald is the real MVP! My circuit board went out and he and A-Plus went above and beyond to diagnose the issue and replace my circuit board the same day. Donald persisted with calling the warehouse to get the part and after he left, I got a call back to let me know they were able to get through and get the part as well as come back to my house to install it within 90 minutes! Everything I said in my previous review, I stand behind it even more with the latest service I received. Cheers!Update 7/2/24 - As you can see, I continue to use A-Plus for my HVAC services needs. I wanted to have a maintenance check done on my AC unit. Solomon was absolutely fantastic! From the moment he stepped out of the van, he was very professional and had such positive energy throughout the service. He discovered that one of my capacitors was getting ready to go out so he advised that I have it replaced which I obliged and it was taken care of quickly. A-Plus is stellar when it comes to high-quality service and their techs are top notch in terms of skill and customer service excellence!
I had a shower that had lost water pressure so I called A Plus and they had a technician out within 24 hours to fix it. The technician worked quickly and completely fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. I would highly recommend A Plus for any home service needs.

We observed a leak in our attic unit (water coming through the ceiling) and self-diagnosed it (thanks youtube) as a plugged line. We also noticed that the A/C system would not cool properly by the end of a hot day (we live in Austin, TX) so chose A-Plus based on it being a local family-owned business.We called on Memorial Day Friday (long weekend) and they dispatched a technician by 9AM on Saturday. Joseph did a great job properly diagnosing the issue (turns out was not a plugged line) and correcting it. He was prompt, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. In short order he had the system back in operation and educated us on the type of systems we had and how to best use them.Overall a great experience and we would recommend them to others needing A/C or heating support.
After two previous companies had evaluated my HVAC, and recommended a new system without testing, Zach thoroughly tested and confirmed a leak in the coolant system. He then provided a temporary solution, and showed me where the problem was.The net result for me was a difference in over $10k in equipment replacement.Thanks Zach! Customer for life!
They fixed a shower/tub faucet that was not functioning. The repair was done quickly and easily without charge. They were professional and efficient. The repair was thoroughly explained (so it won’t happen again) and they fixed the ‘drain stopper’ also (which was not in the scope of their work on the faucet). I couldn’t be happier with their work!
After replacing my air conditioner a few months ago, I went to replace the air filter and couldn’t get it out. I called and they sent a service tech out that same day. The filter was stuck with some of the sealer and the tech removed it and inserted a new air filter in and there was no charge. We have used A-Plus for more than 40 years and have always been pleased with their quality, prompt, service.
My AC was not cooling the house. Angel came by twice, once for the assessment and another to repair the unit after getting the necessary parts. Angel spent hours repairing it in the hot Texas heat and was very communicative with me throughout the process to keep me updated on how things were going. Angel was very diligent with the repair, wasting no time to get my AC working as soon as possible. More than anything, I appreciated Angels professionalism and kindness during the process!
Sometimes when youve been doing business with a company for over 30 years and you have to call them for some unexpected equipment problems you get a good feeling for calling in the experts. Today was that kind of day. Our home Air Conditioner was giving us some problems over the weekend and though we were able to get it back up and running we knew it needed a little more attention. (Cause and effect). We contacted the after hours number and left a message hoping to get in line to be serviced some time Monday morning. (Just in case). A few minutes before opening and we were contacted by a member of their professional office staff. They assured us that they would have a tech at our home in an hour. I explained that perhaps our call was now a lower priority and if there were more pressing ones perhaps they could be attended to first. I was assured they had plenty of available techs and they would be sending out one of their best. Shortly after nine as promised our tech Charles arrived and after explaining to him what we had encountered he quickly deduced that our system might have been a little low on freon but he would check it to be certain. He suggested that our 11 year old unit was out of warranty and that the coil make have a slow leak in it. He could charge the system back to full but there was a chance that the leak, if significant might require repair which could be costly. Whenever you find yourself in situations like this you always like options. Charles never attempted to upsell any repairs and understood not wanting to put a lot of money into an aging system. As a consumer that was truly appreciated. He went about charging the system and we went about hoping indeed that what we faced was a one off or at least a slow leak in the system. The A-Plus family, (and they are a family owned operation) have always treated us fairly like that for over 30 years of our AC Needs. Its why we keep going back to them. You cant do better than an A+!(This was a review I left four years ago.....Google only allows you one review but as many Edits as you would like) You know no one wants to pay for a service call these days but our furnace was out and with winters chill upon us there was no time to hesitate in calling the fine folks from A-Plus. There was some concern that a tech might not be able to make it out to our home without an after hours service call but Craig from the office contacted me a short time afterwards and stated that one of their techs was finishing a job and could be at our place around 5:00 PM.. Not thirty minutes later and David informed us that the tech had finished his other stop early and was heading our way and would be there in the next 30 to 40 minutes.Donald arrived and promptly went about diagnosing the problem with the furnace all the while not seeming to being bothered by my watching him over the shoulder. He explained to me the basic functioning of the controls as he went about systematically working through his trouble shoot as I explained to him all of he problem areas that I had previously looked into earlier that day. In short order he had isolated the problem and had the house warm again in no time.Like I say no one wants to pay for a service call but watching Donalds ability to diagnose this problem, (which trust me, didnt show up on any YouTube video I watched that day) was worth the price of admission. In a day in age in which one frets about beingtaken to the cleaners for repair issues outside of ones comprehension once again A Plus and their team of experts in the field of HVAC repair show why you really cant do better than an A-Plus!
Once again, A-Plus saved the day. Our AC unit began cycling erratically and Solomon came by on Friday and quickly diagnosed that our blower motor had malfunctioned. He returned on Monday with a replacement and installed in a flash! Our troubles are over, thanks to Solomon’s knowledge and skills.

My experience was probably pretty average. They were responsive and easy to work with prior to the appointment. After having an issue with a plumbing service they scheduled for me with their plumber, I couldnt get a response from them though. My partner had to call from his phone to get in touch with them.When the other maintenance guys came out to work, already knowing that the bulk of the work we needed was siding replacement, they said they were unable to replace siding that day because of the off-and-on rain, but also were unable to reschedule to a rain free day. Their management had told them to come out and do what they could. They did some work inside and that turned out well. When I asked for an adjustment on one of the doors they fixed, they did that happily as well.They did take a look at our siding and spent the time they would have spent replacing it caulking the cracks to prevent further damage from the rain. It ended up costing nearly the same amount of money to caulk the cracks as wed been quoted to have some sections replaced, which I assume to be because the inspection report wed given them for the quote didnt properly convey the extent of the damage. That seems fair to me and if they had told me that upfront (before starting the caulk work) I think I would have felt better about it.So yeah. Just average.

Angel’s service was absolutely PERFECT. The coldest night of the year was approaching on the day of the service )12-22-22) and HVAC system was not producing heat. Angel arrived at the specified appointment time and repaired the system in 3.5 hours which included time to go to warehouse and obtain a furnace control circuit board.I highly recommend A+ and Angel.
Aplus was so quick at sending someone to my house due to the gas leakage. I highly recommendthem and will definitely use their work and refer them. The contractor Andrew they sent was so helpful and professional. He was so patient and waited until the gas company to arrive so they can fix the issue.

I called A+ last night for heating repairs, and they were going to come out, but it was so late and I had space heaters so I knew would be OK, I push the tech to not come to the house, A+ was more than willing to drive to my property. I was promptly provided a phone call early the following morning, where Donald came out and fixed my issue very quickly. I absolutely love this company, I have been using them for years for heating and HVAC!
They’ve added both a dog shower and a pocket door in our house and both times they were great to work with. They’re on time, responsiveness and I like that they send emails and texts in addition to calling. Also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend them for any home improvement projects.UPDATE: I’ve now also used them for AC repair. They came within 4 hours of calling them in the morning, and Donald quickly and professionally diagnosed and fixed the bad capacitors. Such a relief in the Texas summer! Highly recommend them for any work.
Having your A/C go out in August in Texas is a nightmare, but A-Plus made the experience as pain-free as possible. They got us in quickly for a service call, and when it was determined that our system needed to be replaced, they provided the estimates quickly and scheduled the work within the week.

I have finally had a positive experience with an AC repair thanks to A-Plus! The technician gave me a full diagnostic of my compressor and explained the options to resolve each of the issues. He helped me evaluate the pros and cons of deciding not to go with certain repairs and allowed me to make the judgement on my own. In the end I didnt feel that my only option was to install a brand new system which has been my experience with other companies. Once I decide its time to upgrade my entire system (probably in the near future), Ill be reaching out to A-Plus!Review 2: I ended up having to replace my entire HVAC system due to it being 21 years old and simply too old to repair. Working with A+ Air Conditioning & Home Solutions was a breeze and I would recommend their services to others.

My furnace was on the blink again. Same problem as last year. A+ worked me in Fri 12/23 so I could enjoy the comfort of my home. Next year Ill schedule a preseason checkup for $89 vs a $200 service call or fix it myself now that I know where the flame sensor is!They are a good AC/heating company.
First of all, I was pleasantly surprised that they would send someone out the same afternoon that I called, without charging me overtime rates. Kyle, the technician, was very friendly and professional. Most important, very, very good at his job. My A/C needed a new mother board which had to be picked up the next day. Meanwhile he set up a bypass to keep the A/C running and keep me comfortable overnight. Completed the replacement the next day. Im satisfied with the results and think the price was very reasonable for the work they did.

Old Austin Service at reasonable prices! Hunter is our A-Plus HVAC Service Representative and he has been teaching us about the system as he works on our HVAC system. He determined what the problem was quickly. It was a leak because the HVAC drain P-trap was clogged. He cleaned it out and checked the pan, but not before showing us how it should be maintained/cleared out.It turned out that our P-trap didnt allow for easy flushing or blowing out the drain clogs.We can now take care of the drainage maintenance ourselves.A-Plus doesnt try to sell you a lot of follow up services you dont necessarily need. This type of service harkins back to a time in Austin that ensured customers were a priority. I applaud this businesss ability to keep this level of service at such a high bar.All that said, I highly recommend A-Plus Air-conditioning Service and their superior service

Was a waiste of my time and money. Didnt do anything that needed serviced. Said would cause thing to go out. I wont use them again. I serviced the things that needed work myself. Only want to sell you extra services instead of fixing or cleaning stuff.
