I had an outstanding experience at AAMCO. After my car started making strange noises, I took it in for an inspection, and the team was incredibly thorough in diagnosing the problem. They were transparent about the issue and provided a clear, detailed explanation of what needed to be fixed and why.The customer service was top-notch – everyone was friendly, professional, and really took the time to answer all my questions. Do not trust this AAMCO location!I had an extremely frustrating experience with this mechanic and would not recommend them to anyone. My car had been having trouble starting, so I took it in to AAMCO hoping to get it fixed. They told me that nothing was wrong with my car and sent me on my way without addressing the issue.However, the worst part of the experience came when I went to pick up my car. The mechanic told me he would leave my keys in the car, but when I arrived, the car was locked. I had to call a locksmith to unlock it, only to find out the keys weren’t even inside the car. This was completely avoidable if the mechanic had simply communicated that he forgot to leave the keys, but he didn’t.To make matters worse, the parking lot was so small that I couldn’t even get a tow truck in to help me. I had to keep calling for updates on my car, and the mechanic was rude and unhelpful throughout the whole process. No apologies, no accountability. It felt like I was just an inconvenience to them.Now I’m left with a car that’s still unreliable, and I feel like I’m driving a ticking time bomb. I have no confidence that my car won’t break down at any moment. Avoid this AAMCO location at all costs. The lack of communication, customer service, and professionalism is unacceptable.

After having an absolutely terrible experience at the Infinity dealership (feel free to read my fun review there!), I brought my 2014 Infiniti Qx60 to AAMCO with a literal 20K list of repairs from the dealership, including a $10,500 transmission and $8,000 transfer case repair. After they actually did a THOROUGH inspection, they found I only needed a new transmission and not all of the other garbage the dealership wanted to rob me for. AAMCO diligently and patiently worked with my awful extended warranty, but we did get them to cover most of the repair! They did not overcharge me, and they did a spectacular job! We ended up swapping out cars and having them do some repairs on our Kia, we were so happy with their service.Colton is absolutely THE BEST!!!! He is funny, honest, transparent, and he will treat you like family. In fact, I feel like we all are family! I will 100% be bringing all of my vehicles here in the future, and so should you! Had to pay another mechanic to find what they left unplugged they didnt put it back together or tightenIt cost money and time to get my truck towed and get Uber to take me to pick it upTheychanged out my radiator and gave it back with engine light on 100 plus degree weatherIt wasnt running right in the air conditioner was blowing hot I called and asked when why my engine light was on so I took it to another mechanic you showed me what they gave me backThe new radiator leaksFinding:The radiator is leaking at the passenger side where the plastic mates with the aluminum. I verified that the upper hose isnt leaking and dripping down. I suggest replacing the radiator. Video addedThe customer complained that he had to fill the radiator a lot. I pressurized the system and found a leak at the connector where the lower radiator hose goes into the thermostat housing. I tightened the hose clamp and the leak stopped. I also tightened all the other adjustable clamps. I suggest replacing the adjustable clamps with constant pressure hose clamps.Finding:The check engine light was on, and there were two codes in the system. P0102 mass airflow sensor circuit low. P0113 intake, air temperature sensor circuit low.Finding:The customer was concerned about a check engine, light, and that the AC would go from cold to ambient air. 100 degrees The codes were for a mass airflow sensor issue. I found that the sensor was unplugged and when I plugged it in it worked normally. I also found a broken vacuum line going to the heater. Core coolant shut off valve. I fix that line and the AC did not shut off at that point.I can only drive my truck about 100 miles each way and my reservoir for the coolant will be completely empty cuz they left me with some kind of leakDriving in hundred plus degree weather with no air conditioner almost gave me heat exhaustionWhatever else they left undone thats leaking my antifreeze out I need it fixed

Alex was great to work with! My vehicle is the only mode of transportation I have for home and work. Alex was able to work with my schedule, dropping off and picking up multiple times for repairs. He explained about any services needed after diagnostics, and the pricing.

Alex was super friendly and helpful to work with. He was upfront and honest on what needed to be done. As well as educating me on what my vehicle specifically needed. Turnaround time was super quick, same day. Plus it was nice having a sweet shop pup to love on in the waiting room.

We cant thank Alex and his team enough for his evaluation after we were told by another shop that our transmission was shot. Including Covert Chevrolet in Hutto denying warranty coverage for a truck with less then 60K miles. Alex and his team determined that they could not find the problem both stipulated and denied. His and Aamcos recognition and appreciation of our Sons Disabled Combat Veteran status and determination to help us to not spend money we did not need too is well appreciated.We feel a sense of trust regardless of what develops in the future but feel confident to be driving the vehicle knowing we have someone in our corner.Thanks AlexDoug Gearheard.

This place has been by far the best auto shop I have ever visited. Alex Moeller was amazing at breaking down the process of the diagnosis steps. He was very patient when I had to reschedule my visit, and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place for auto needs. Honest people with honest, free diagnostics, and very helpful deciding the cars most needed fixes down to the smallest quirk. LOVE THIS PLACEE!!! 💖🥰

I recently had a Transmission rebuilt at your Stassney Location. Im pretty disappointed in the customer service towards the end of my experience with AAMCO Transmission.Here is my experience. My Tahoe gets towed to Aamco, I was very patient in the beginning when it took a long time to diagnose. Business is good and you only have so many bays so I understand not a problem. Alex/John were great to deal with on the phone and every time I called provided updates.I got a call on Friday around 12pm on (4/5) that my vehicle is ready for pick up. I go over around 2pm to pick up my vehicle, and walk into a plastic bin on the desk with my stuff in it. Alex proceeded to inform me that a homeless person broke into my vehicle, and was about to go to sleep in it (had the driver seat fully reclined). And here are my belongings that were scattered around the parking lot. They apparently chased him off and he jumped an extremely high fence.At this point Im in shock. The only thing missing was my collection of card collection memorabilia from when I was a kid. The value of the cards are worth thousands, and quite honestly priceless to me since Ive had it for 20+ years. I go to try and find anything I can in the apartment complex, no luck. When Im driving home I call Alex to see if he can check the footage, Id like to see this break in myself. At first he says it doesnt record that far back, then realizes it happened the previous night and says hell call me back. I never received a call back from Alex. I tried calling them back around 5pm, no answer so I left a voicemail. I go back on Saturday and ask Alex about the footage. Oh sorry it only shows the hood of your vehicle nothing else. At this point, Im extremely disappointed in the overall customer experience Ive had with Aamco. Ive spent $6,300 at this point..Apparently a homeless man used a break in tool to get into my vehicle. There are ZERO marks anywhere to show this. I believe my vehicle was left unlocked by one of the employees.I did not get a call first thing Friday morning to inform me of my vehicle getting broken into. In the future if this happens with other customers, Id highly recommend doing this.Never got a call back about the footage.Terrible overall customer experience for someone spending over $6,000+.I grew up in a family business and am a reasonable person. But Id never want one of my customers to experience what I did at the Aamco Transmission South Location. If the owner Alan, or the General Manager Greg handled this differently Id be a happy customer. Do NOT go here there are plenty of other transmission companies to choose from.

First spoke with Michael one of mechanics and then Alex manager. Described in detail with a video of my coolant system leak and they did not charge for under the hood assessment of work needed. They informed me specifically what needed to be repaired and the parts needed. Performed the repair work next day and my vehicle was completed by Noon that day. Saved me money, by only replacing what was necessary instead of the entire Heating/Coolant System Assembly. Thank you very much for a timely & excellent repair on my vehicle. I am on the road again with no leaks and a safe ride.

My car had begun shuddering at certain speeds, so I took it to a local repair shop. Based on my description they told me I needed to take it to a transmission specialist and recommended AAMCO. Ill be honest, I was a bit hesitant to take my car to a chain shop, but the reviews were good and they offered a free evaluation. Alex was very thorough and explained what appeared to be happening and the steps he recommended to correct the issue. And when I needed a ride home, he took me himself. The repairs werent cheap, but they seemed to be on par with other shops, and way less expensive than a full transmission replacement. My car is running better now with no shuddering, so problem solved. I was pleasantly surprised by the personal service I received and would definitely return, though I hope not to need it any time soon.

Dont waste your money here. After I told them all of the repairs that if already done to my car, they charged me for the same things and told me my car was fixed. On my way home, my car overheated and the engine seized, and had to be totaled.

They were efficient letting me know what the diagnosis was. Explained it all to me so I understood what was needed to be repaired. They worked with me on my time schedule and I’m very satisfied with the work performed. If you are looking for mechanics that are trustworthy this is the place to come.

I had convinced myself I had a head gasket issue on top of everything else going on with my car, they had every opportunity to rip me off but instead choose to be honest and straightforward about what was going on with my car, they were able to explain in full technical detail what was going on in a way that was easily understood.The pricing here is very fair and the work done is high quality

This was the 1st time my husband and I visited AAMCO. The service was stellar. For instance, Alex took the time to explain all the work that was completed. Additionally, he showed us pictures of the issues. Honestly, this was a great customer training. We left knowing our car was in the best care. Aamco on Stassney has great customer service. Alex is very helpful he is good at communicating and responding back to you quickly. I took my car in for a transmission issue both him and his workers were able to get me right!

I took my car in multiple times for the same issue- A/C not cooling. The first time, they replaced the serpentine belt, gave it a recharge and fixed a leak. The second time, they recharged the A/C and found a new leak which they repaired. Third time, they recharged it for free.$800+ later, my A/C is again not cooling very well and my new belt has never stopped squealing which is pretty embarrassing to be honest. They asked me to leave it overnight for the squealing belt and I couldnt because- work.I decided to take matters in my own hands and start small with changing out the air cabin filter- there was none. I had been driving with no filter! Next step is recharging it myself with A/C Pro and imagine my surprise when the low pressure cap is straight up missing. These are just a few things I would expect a well-known company to check, replace and be part of that $800+ to fix.Update: I took my car to a AAA certified mechanic for the same issues. They had to replace the serpentine/drive belt that AAMCO supposedly replaced as well as quite a few other things. My car doesnt squeal anymore and my A/C works like a champ. Dont waste your time or money here.

This business only has good reviews because they bribe their customers. They have a deal where you can get a discount for leaving a good review.At first I was apprehensive about leaving my car with this crew. Something about the guy up front seemed off putting to my intuition. I left my car anyway and then a couple days later, I saw it at an intersection in town on a Saturday evening. No way they were just doing a test drive at that time… I think the staff borrowed my car for the weekend, which makes me extremely uncomfortable. Very unprofessional.

Exceptional service!!! Alex goes above and beyond to make sure that your vehicle is serviced correctly and in a timely manner. Alex was great at negotiating with the warranty company to insure your work gets covered with quality parts and was very good at keeping me informed about what was going on. My car had a lot of work that needed to be done and each time my car was completed and back to me in one day. Mike, the lead mechanic did a great job diagnosing my car and worked till the problem was resolved each time. Mike had to perform a steering system install 3 times because the parts that were arriving were not in good working order. However, Mike and Alex would not give up on the problem and made sure the final install was a good quality factory OEM part to insure the best results. I’m super happy with my experience at this shop and would recommend anyone give them a shot.

Last year, these guys were very helpful in getting my car in the proper shape to pass inspection, engine light and all. They were quite fair and honest, so I came back this year when I found a new set of issues. They are still just as helpful! Even knowing I may shop around or do some work on my own, they gave me a full assessment and answered my questions fairly, without expectation. I AM having them do the work because I really appreciate the transparency... and the financing. :)

I had issues with another shop doing my transmission I took it here and they were able to fix my issues as quickly as possible, Alex and the team here were also very easy to work with and even showed me in person the issues my car was having and the bad parts that the previous shop put into my transmission. I am very thankful to everyone here!

I am extremely impressed with the service I got here! After an extremely subpar experience at A+ Transmission, Alex at AAMCO on Stassney was very transparent about the repairs and so patient when explaining what was wrong with my transmission. He had many phone calls with us talking us through our options. They had the car diagnosed within a day, and said the repairs would take a week or two. They will not take the transmission out of your car without running 2 non invasive tests that dont cost more than $155. Highly recommend working with them! They really put me at ease during this stressful and expensive situation.

We thought that they were awesome at first, but without making us aware of what was happening, they had our vehicle Scrapped without getting back with us or at least telling us where they sent it after it was on the property for a long period of time. When they said that the car was allowed on the lot and told us dont worry about it. Take as much time as you need. Multiple times and continued contact with them over the roughly 4 months with assurance from each time we communicated with them it was there since we werent able to follow through with the next steps for the car until recently such as the possibility of continuing with the work anyways instead of scrapping since the car was sentimental and wanted to move forward with the pricey cost. After this experience I would advise anyone to never trust these people with something as expensive as a car so something like this or much worse doesnt happen again. A horrible loss that I cant get back ever again because of them. You have been warned.

They did not charge to tell me what was wrong with my van. I got a very thorough and free estimate so that I could choose the things in the estimate that I wanted to repair. I was never pressured or sold anything. In just three short days I got my vehicle back and very impressed with the results of the repair. I recommend AAMCO on Stassney to everyone.

I had a problem with my catalytic converter as well as a check engine light that was haunting me for years. I went to many mechanics who lied to me, tried to price gouge me, and over all gave bad info about what was going on with my vehicle. I almost lost hope until I stumbled upon Alex at the Stassney Aamco. This man not only broke down everything wrong with my vehicle like a mad scientist, the price was way more affordable than all the mechanics I attempted to do business with. This man saved my life. I will be only coming here for future repairs. If you know what’s good for you then give this shop a call. They are master magicians.

Ive had to bring my little 2003 Mazda Protege to this AAMCO a multitude of times now. As Im not a car guy, I need trustworthy advice from much more capable hands -- thats where AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care come in. Not only do they fix up the issues my car has in record time, theyve also provided impeccable customer service and the most affordable rates I can find. The last time I brought my car down theynot only fixed the mechanical issues it had, but they even installed new clips for my front bumper (it was literally being held together by duct tape for the longest time). I was dreading getting this body work done and they managed to take care of it for free!Although I had to bring my Mazda down for the second time in the last month, I know Will and the rest of his team will take care of me -- just as they always do. Thanks for the continued great service.

Great experience with this place after I dropped in for the first time today. Mark was very attentive, friendly and helpful in explaining what needed to be fixed, since my check engine light had been on for quite some time. I got an oil change and had the thermostat/coolant repaired and replaced within 2 hours. Although the cost for parts & labor was a little steep, and the wait time was a bit long, I was more than happy that AAMCO got everything taken care of for me within that time frame. Some communication could have changed my situation completely. Told car should be ready by this past Wed but would depend on part availability. Call Mon afternoon to verify if there was any issue getting said parts so I can plan my week and told no issues but now its maybe Wed, Thu at the latest. Hear nothing so call Wed afternoon now told Thu for sure Fri at the latest. Well here we are Thursday 5pm and still no update. Feel like Im being punished for simply calling for some kind of update. If Im spending 4k+ I dont see the ask is unreasonable to have at least one update where Im the one called. Looks like Ill be without my car for the weekend and now have more appts to cancel.

I was nervous about putting my car into the shop, as I am always. However as soon I walked into AAMCO, all my worries disappeared. Everyone there was welcoming. Even people from the shop greeted me. I was offered credit to help fix my car from inside the office. They partner with a bank so I didnt have to run around town to get a loan approved. My original estimate was just for work done on my cooling system and oil leak. However when they took my car apart they notice that my power steering pump was shot. They called me up a said they they didnt feel comfortable letting my drive my car in that condition. Instead on asking for more money to fix it, they offered to fix the power steering at no additional charge. Which I looked up saved me $500 in parts and labor. They really do care about you.

Hate dealing with car issues? Me too. I loathe having to deal with anything car-related but now that I found AAMCO off Stassney - I feel so much better if I were to ever need anything. From the second I called AAMCO, Will was very friendly and personable over the phone. Through my worry and frustration, I was actually feeling pretty at ease after getting off the phone with him. A couple days later, I arrived for my appointment and there was Will with a big ole smile on his face and ready to help. I cannot say enough great things about AAMCO off Stassney - not only are they professional and efficient, but they made me feel so comfortable. My car is back to working order and it didnt even take forever! You can tell they all really enjoy getting to know their customers, and are very honest about their work and price. I never felt like I was getting taken advantage of (like I have at other places), and in fact, they really tried to help me where they could. I greatly appreciated everything they did and I will forever be a customer now!

The place is packed with cars out to the street. Saw cars being moved around to service other cars.Business is very poorly run. Customers agree on an appointment time to drop off a car, but will probably be a few days before anyone looks at your car.No one will contact you the entire time, even after multiple days have passed.Do not trust your car or time with Aamco on Stassney Ln. They arent paying attention to anything.

I came in for a clutch replacement. Highly recommend this shop. I ended up paying within $100 of the over-the-phone quote. Im the kind of customer that checks for updates frequently and knows about cars; Will and John never got annoyed and were always happy to give me a detailed update. The repair did take a few days longer than they suggested, but they got it done within a week, and that feels about right to me for having to remove the transmission and order parts. Car is running just like I expected it to after the repair.

Overall a good experience with AAMCO Transmission. My Jeep Grand Cherokee was in bad shape after a long drive from Colorado to Texas . Took it to them and got it back feeling better than before. Great costumer service and able to work with me for best results.

Over paid to have transportation rebuilt. 18 month warranty transmission went out in 20 months! I suspect they didnt actually fully rebuild like they changed me for. I dont run the pickup hard just normal driving.

I just moved to Austin from California and needed to have my check engine light checked...The team was able to diagnose the issue and replace the part that I needed. They were also able to solve other issues I was having with my car. Mark, the manager was very responsive and communicated with me every step of the way to ensure that any work they needed to do was approved. I appreciate this up front communication and the bill was exactly what he quoted, no surprises. Although this location is a bit out of my way and there are other AAMCOs closer to my residence, I would come back based on the customer service experience alone.

Car problems are stressful, no doubt. Especially for someone like me who dearly depends on their car ! Alas, the team of Will & Co. at this AAMCO location always do their best to fix issues and give you an overall great, no hassle experience. I want to say thank you to all the guys at AAMCO. I had my car towed in to AAMCO due to a transmission issue. Will was awesome!! He is straight forward and honest about the work that needs to be done. About a week after my transmission was done I had a wheel bearing go bad. I knew that I could take it to Will and his guys and get it fixed without any worries. Thank you again for all the hard work and great customer service. This for sure will be my new go to place to get my car fixed.

Will and his crew are awesome! Got my A/C fixed there and they did an amazing job. The detailed explanation given about the problem showed me that they knew what they were talking about. They quoted me a price (which after taking the invoice to a couple of other places) that was fair and didnt find another problem when starting the work. He even discounted me a good amount for work previously done. Now my air blows cold and it is much better. Thank you guys!

AAMCO was so generous to my boyfriend and I this week when we brought in my boyfriend’s brother’s car. My boyfriend’s younger brother had recently passed away tragically. His car needed a lot of testing done and required a lot of work. We were gone for over a week for funeral services and they let us keep his car there. The car ultimately needed a new engine, and the car was 1,000 miles over warranty to get it- so we were unable to get it fixed. The customer service manager, Will, was so nice to us. He made all the testing they did complimentary, knowing that we had a ton of other expenses to deal with for a funeral. I’d recommend this place to anyone who needs car repairs done, thank you AAMCO!

I called AAMCO Transmission to have a fluid change done on my transmission. Alex was very pleasant and told me I could drop it off on the day I requested. He performed rhe work requested with no issues and was very informative about what he did with the vehicle. Thanks AAMCO!

I was happy with the service I received from Will and Mike. I brought my Subaru in for what I thought was a completely unrelated repair, but Will explained the issue they found and the potential consequences for not fixing the repair in a very clear manner. Mike took the time to show me any signs of wear and tear under the hood and explained some of the work he would need to do. He also gave me some pointers for extending the life of my Subaru now that Its over 130k miles.

Great place, great care, great prices.I used their repair services for an 07 Mazda twice in the past year, all for unrelated issues on my aging car. Typically im very skeptical and non-trusting of any auto repair company but they earned my business for both visits. I checked around to multiple shops to confirm price quotes were fair and legit....and they were spot on! No funny business there.Will (GM) is always there manning the phones providing quick updates. The car was ready either on time or ahead of time for both visits. He worked with us on prices as things starting getting financially heavy for us, was able to work in some courtesy items, gave tips to treat things outside of the shop, etc. In the long run we saved about $717 by solving issues intelligently versus tossing money at it.Ill be going back, for sure!

Mark and his crew were awesome! It is always scary taking your car to a shop not knowing if you will be cheated. However the experience I had with Mark and his crew was exceptional. He kept me informed every step of the way and put me at ease during the process. He even kept all of my broken parts to show how extensive the damage was. I was in despair after I took my Mustang to a family mechanic to repair my car as the transmission was slipping. $500 later I go and get my car and he did everything BUT check the transmission without even calling us.I heard a commercial for AAMCO and called them right away. Mark called me after hours to get my information and sent a wrecker to get my car the very next morning. He was with me every step of the way letting me know what they found and what the price would be. There were no surprises with AAMCO as opposed to the last mechanic!Mark walked us through the financing and my car now runs better than it did when we drove it off the lot.I will be taking my car to AAMCO from now on. In October of 2019 I went to Kwik Kar to get a simple oil change. Within the next 24-48 hours (it happened to be cold out), I noticed my AC was no longer blowing out cold air (fans were still working). I called up Kwik Kar and they told me it would be $100 to take a look. To no surprise, I decided to look elsewhere which is how I ended up at AAMCO...a few months later. I scheduled my appointment online and Will followed up to confirm. On the date of my appointment I was promptly checked in by Will and Mike quickly ran the diagnostics on my car. I was hoping it was just a simple freon fill and recharge, but it turned out the compressor was no longer functioning properly. Mike said he could get the part in and fixed by the afternoon, but I didnt want to spend several hours waiting in their lobby. He was so kind to lend me his car so I could do work from home instead. Although I wasnt happy to hear the news of my car issue, everyone was extremely pleasant to work with and explained everything in detail of what was going on. Although I hope I wont have any need to be returning for additional car issues, I will be returning for future oil changes. All around great customer service.

My air conditioning went out at a very inconvenient time, and led me to bring my car in to Mark shortly before closing. Despite being busy, he had his guys look at my car and diagnose the problem. He found a less expensive supplier for the parts I needed, and I dropped my car off that night before I left for a week long business trip. He did call me when they found an additional problem that required an additional repair, but they still were able to complete the repairs and have my car waiting for me when I returned from my business trip. My AC has been working great, and I could not be happier.I will be back the next time I have a repair. Mark was respectful of me, and of the several other people with whom I saw him interact. He has won my loyalty, and my repeat business.

Will and the team at AAMCO (special shout out to Andrew) took care of me. Spending thousands of dollars on a transmission repair is scary. But they explained my options (all of which were less than half of the dealer quote) and kept me informed of progress through the Thanksgiving holiday. Its now 7 weeks since I got it back. Ive been all over Texas in my repaired V8 Hyundai and the transmission is back to running like new. These guys clearly care about maintaining an excellent reputation as an honest repair shop.

Will was very communicative and worked within my budget for a tune up. Very close. Easily accessible and they have a lot of space and employees so making a appointment wasnt as necessary as just getting the car there. Will definitively return.

I did business with AAmco back in the late 80s when I was living in Mississippi. I was pleased with the job they did for me then and decided to go with them again. Upon picking my vehicle up after the transmission replacement, Mark told me if I had any issues to bring my truck back and they would be addressed. My vehicle unfortunately has to go to car heaven. After giving me the bad news Andy was nice enough to drop the initial repair quote down to just the diagnostic he ran to see I needed a whole new motor. It wouldn’t make sense to sink the money into an 2007 vehicle but Andy’s honesty and transparency on prices will make him my go to guy for my next vehicle.

The techs did a good job repairing my car. But Jose the service manager didnt call and tell me it needed a new computer system until i called to check to see if my car ready. At first I was told my car would be ready at the end of the day Aug 3rd. I waited all day for a phone call from Aamco. I was also denied for a payment plan. I would of payed half down to get my car fixed. Jose didnt seem like he wanted to help me out. I would of gladly given him my bank information.

DO NOT GO HERE. A while back we were charged for no work that was done on our vehicle. We were told we cannot help you with your electrical work even though we were promised they were able to work on Mercedes Benz. Long story short, the car sat in their lot for 1 week and then they called and told us they dont know how to work on Mercedes Benz. When we picked our car up they printed out a stack of papers about how to work on a Mercedes Benz and charged us for labor even though they did nothing. Unethical car business practices and would recommend other reliable shops.

Been there on three separate occasions, First time have breaks and rotors fixed and it cost less then they quoted (also had my AC was out so they looked at for free). Second trip I went to get my AC fixed (Mark remembered whom I was from my previous visit a month earlier), it took them two days and cost barley over the quote. The third time I went due to radiator issues, It was a complicated issue due to GMs lovely decision to you a corrosive coolant back in the late 90-2000s. It took them about four days to fix (one of which is Sunday, so they werent even open) and it came in exactly at the quoted price. To sum it all up Awesome, Friendly staff who actually know what they are doing.

I brought my 88 Toyota pickup to these guys with Carburetor issues . Long story short I got charged over $1000 dollars and was told my truck was fine . That was far from the truth . I got told this BS to put premium fuel in the truck and it would start working fine , here it is almost a month later and truck still running the same . The Mgr Will is a smooth talker that will take advantage of you if you don’t know about cars . I usually work on my own cars but in this case didn’t know much about Carbuerators, so I brought it to these fake mechanics only to get screwed with over a $1000 bill . Now I have to take it somewhere else where they can actually fix it . Beware of this shop .

I Have a Chevy Equinox 2012, I brought my car in and talk to Will, Great guy, my car was weak and was told that i might had to change the engine.Will did an entire diagnosis found that I just needed transmission service. Now my car is running smooth.The Water Pump was leaking, if Will hadnt found out about it I probably had lost my car. He also found other problems that others mechanics couldnt find.The bill was high but he got me the financing deal that help me cover must of the expense.On top of that I had to replace the rotors but he told me that that is easy to do depending how handy I was, so explained to me how so i could save that money which was around another $700.Thanks will

Well, turns out the solution was simple and easy, and Will walked me through the solution in a clear and professional manner. He had an opportunity to fleece me but instead only further solidified the trust I have in his business. If youre looking for a shop you can trust, look no further than Aamco on Stassney in South Austin.

DO NOT GO HERE. I had a minor issue with my steering. I demonstrated the noise and friction that occurred when I dropped my vehicle off. The tech confirmed he heard and felt what I was experiencing when he turned the wheel as well. $900 of parts later they said it was fixed. As soon as I got into my vehicle the exact same issue was occurring. I then made the mistake of asking them to service it again, since they did not fix the problem. $350 in parts later, they said it was fixed. Returned to pick up my vehicle. Same issue, never fixed. The manager acknowledged that he could hear and feel what I was experiencing, and simply said he didnt know. So, $1,250 later, the issue was never fixed and they just simply didnt know. Oh, and they incorrectly reassembled a belt leading to a loud whining noise when accelerating. A new problem. For your own sake, find another shop.

I was told my AC blower motor repair would take 3-4 hours and cost $430 for parts and labor. Mark really stressed what a great deal I was getting because he was only charging me for an hour and a half of labor. I dropped off my car at 10am and went home. I told Mark that my husband and I had an appointment at 3:45pm, and he said they would likely have the car done by then. I left my car, and one of the mechanics gave me a ride home, which was nice. 3pm rolls around and I havent heard anything back, so I call, and Mark says hes been swamped with work, but it should be done by the end of their work day (6pm). He tells me they will be staying late to work on all of these cars that have come in, and I will have it by that night. Im annoyed, but try to be understanding, so I reschedule the appointment my husband and I had, and wait. At 5:30pm I havent heard anything, so I call back. Its taking a lot longer than we thought, my guys are working really hard out here, weve just got so much going on. Were going to have to keep it overnight. Im more annoyed, but I keep my cool and say, Ok, thats not great... but itll be done by morning? He says yes, his mechanics are staying late to work on it.That was Friday night, and my husband had no car to go to work, so he walked. That was rough, but hey, Mark said they were working hard, right? I needed this AC fixed, its 105 degrees out... So Saturday morning I wake up at 10am and call to see if the car is done. Its not. Mark says it should be done by the end of the day though. On Saturdays they close at 1pm, so thats just a few more hours. Im pretty upset, but since thats not much longer to wait, I say ok. I need my car fixed. Its my husbands birthday and we have plans to go out. We have a 7-month old and have to take her with us, and we cant take her anywhere in a car that hot. I really want to give him a great birthday, so Im trying to be patient and tolerate these delays. Mark also reminds me what a great deal hes giving me, only charging an hour-and-a-half of labor when its taking this long. He assures me theyre all working very hard. Let me also say I know my car pretty well, and I know where the blower motor is. Its right behind the glove box in a white plastic frame, right below the cabin air filter, which Ive changed before. Ive seen it with my own eyes. There are a LOT of screws and cables to mess with, more complicated than Im comfortable handling myself, and thats the only reason I took it in. But the motor itself is right there.12:30pm on Saturday (30 min til they close) and I get a call. Im so excited to pick up the phone, the car must be done! But no... Mark says they are so swamped they will have to keep the car til Monday. Now Ive had it. Mark, I know where that blower motor is, there is no acceptable reason it should have taken this long, and I need my car. All this man does is defend himself, he wont take blame for anything. Hes got guys working late. Hes giving me a great deal. The blower motor is buried in my dash, and he stresses that he told me from the first it would be a very long repair and he made no promises about time. That is simply not true. Several times he gave me an estimated time and then extended it. I had to call him for updates. He never communicated the issues to me, and if he had told me up front that the repair might take a few days instead of a few hours, I wouldnt have been so upset.I went and got my car, AC still not working, and I am never going back to that place. He had the decency not to charge me, but when I looked at my dashboard, it looked like no one had even touched it. No one had taken off the glove box door or anything. I would expect a few new scratches from that kind of disassembly, or at least some smudging. It was still dusty.Dont go to this AAMCO. They dont know how to manage their time or workload. I think they gave me a short estimate so they could get my business, knowing the time was unrealistic. Dishonest and manipulative.

Will and his guys are great. They were able to evacuate my a/c, let me take it home to do work to the a/c system and bring it back in for recharge the next day, which a bunch of places cant do. Plus they were quick and all around great. Highly recommend!

Well first off, I took my 03 beetle to the Stassney Lane Aamco about a year ago. Of course my check engine light was on and I came in for a free inspection. The manager at the time didnt hesitate to tell me that I had a faulty catalytic converter. Their expected quotation came up to 950$ labor included. I decided to give them a chance and went for it. They didnt tell me I would need a tune up to go with that, so here I am one year later and the check engine light comes on again. It is no surprise that I take my car in again and guess what the same faulty catalytic converter problem shows up again. However, this time, the repair comes up to more than 1500$. I cannot believe that the warranty expires after 1 year and so I would have to repay for something that should have been fixed a long time ago. Bottom line is I would not recommend this place to anyone in Austin! If you want to keep paying for the same job over and over again go ahead. I will keep spreading my word out and tell everyone not to come here ever again. RIDICULOUS PLACE!! I will be calling corporate and they will hear about this!!!

AAMCO did a good job on my 2000 dodge ram truck they fix the problem and were honest about the work they did thats what a shop should have honesty and integrity. Plus they can help with getting financial help in paying for the work they did as long as you can pay it and thats great for me and anyone else who cant pay it all at once so thanks again. Do not I repeat do not trust Will and whoever helps him try to scam people. Took my car to get a free ac check because it blew hot and cold in and out. I knew it didnt have a leak because Im familiar with car problems. I knew it had to be electrical and I thought maybe a relay. Of course they are not going to replace a 30 dollar part and diag fee. They want to rip you off. Tried to charge me about 400 to fix a leak that didnt exist plus recharge and who knows what else. Took my car somewhere else and guess what? It was the relay. Never go to big corporate repair shops. Go to family owned.

I brought my car here because the AC wasnt working correctly and after the initial inspection they wanted to charge me $1000 for replacing half a dozen other things in my car. When I pointed out that I had already replaced one of those parts less than a year ago, they replied that they hadnt actually checked before running the estimate. This seemed like a pretty big red flag. I took my car somewhere else where I had a much better experience.

I own a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Z71 4X4. I bought the truck new, and after 215,000 miles the auto transmission finally decided to go. I decided on Aamco Transmissions on Stassney Lane in Austin Texas. I spoke with the manager for a time about the repair work. I explained that the truck is a work truck, and I do lots of trailer pulling. I wanted some upgrades like a better torque converter, and shift kit. I also asked that all shift solenoids be replaced, and all new parts be used. The manager told me that the work would take 3 days to complete, and price was set at $2600.00. I picked up the truck as scheduled. After some time on the road, I knew the converter was not locking up in high gear. Plus I was still getting DTC codes about the shift solenoids. I had to take it back in and was told that the solenoids had not been replaced as I had asked. That they rarely go bad. I explained that the price agreed upon was to include new solenoids. The work took an additional 2 days, but when I got the truck back it was fixed properly, with no extra charge. I am satisfied with the work performed, but feel that the level of communication needs a bit of work. Im a business professional myself, and require straight answers and info. But, overall, my experience with this business was good, although time on both sides was wasted in my view. I do recommend this shop to others as the work did turn out well in the end. Thanks guys for a job well done, but trying to cut corners only creates wasted time. Could have been 5 stars.

I usually use the Lamar location but this one was closer. My husbands truck was vibrating and Firestone told him it was tires. I wanted another opinion because we just bought the tires last year. We havent put hardly any miles on them. Anyway, they found a universal joint that was worn. Mark, the manager, had us going the same day. It didnt even cost what 1 tire would have. Its nice to not be treated like a woman that doesnt know anything about cars. Ladys you can trust these guys.

I took my car into Aamco about a month ago after having driven it with the check engine light on for far too long; I choose Aamco because i had heard the name all over the radio, and because its right in my neighborhood.From the moment i stepped in Mark took care of me like an old friend; he was great about giving me the information i wanted as soon as he got it. When it came down to finally figuring out what needed to be fixed, Mark sat down and explained it all to me, explained WHY those things needed to be fixed and worked with me on price. He even set me up for a title loan to help pay for the repairs. I really appreciated Mark taking the time to explain the process of everything to me, as i tend to ask a lot of questions, he never lost his patience or seemed annoyed at my barrage of questions. While my car spent a week at Aamco, it was returned to me with a new timing belt, a new hub bearing, and repairs to my oil system.Since i lost my personal mechanic last year, i have been in desperate need of another mechanic i know wont rip me off, and will also do quality work; Mark and the guys at Aamco have absolutely earned a return customer as i am confident not only in their ability to efficiently fix my car trouble, but quickly as well.

Will gave me a call after the exam to explain what they found, what theyd like to do, and how much it would cost before just fixing things without asking. Horrible. Horrible horrible experience. I almost never write reviews for anything But I will take the time to explain my experience because it was profoundly unprofessional, waste of time including no resolution to my initial reason for bringing the car in, and costly-- for disclosure:the painful process starts off at the South Lamar location, and continues at stassney location, and then south Lamar again. Providing south Lamar location preface for context,Air conditioning was blowing hot air prior to bringing it in, Kevin (at South Lamar) told me I needed everything replaced the whole Ac system and cost me 2 grand. And could just replace compressor for 1200 but Id probably continue having problems. Had to take car to dealership for coolant valve leaking only a few weeks later (unrelated). and also stuck thermometer down vent. Blowing 70 , not good in 90+ degree weather; spec is 40 degrees. Especially for 2 grand this is completely unacceptable.Took it to stassney location because Lamar was supposedly so backed up indeterminantly where Will took it on and said to drop it off early after making him aware of the situation. Kudos for this quick turnaround BUT It sat in the lot until end of day where next day they told me it was an oil leaking compressor and to take the car back the next day on a Saturday because part wouldnt come in until Monday and couldnt squeeze me in until Wednesdaya. Monday came, part didnt arrive, Will anxiously redirected me to south Lamar location to fix the issue, said the repair guys would be getting stiffed on the job at his location like bits of saltine crackers in a ramen soup -- what? How is that my problem for a re repair how employees get compensated? Also back pedaled and said he took on the inspection to do me a solid and really didnt have to and I asked why we were regressing when he already agreed to it --- to clarify Aamco policy is bring car to same location unless there arent any others within a 50 mile range or something. But same owner at stassney and south Lamar supposedly so they allowed it.Will, though well intentioned, was unprofessional telling me a black car in Texas may be culprit to lack of cold Ac--with a straight face, when Ive had cold Ac in my black car historically. What are you talking about? He also was always thinking out loud about how squeezing me in an appointment is a balance of how many customers will be pissed for delays vs my needs being addressed.Brought car back to south Lamar.. (continues, but not relevant to this location)

Id been having charging system issues for almost two months. I took my car to Auto Zone (diagnostic came back with nothing), took it to Firestone (nothing wrong), took it to Midas (they repaired my battery terminals for $31) and said the rest of the system appeared fine. After being stranded yet again, I took my car to the Aamco on Stassney. They came back with a bad alternator as the culprit. The work was done correctly and in a timely manner. Everyone I dealt with was professional. I would have rated 5 star, except the actual job only took 30 mins to complete and I was charged for 1.5 hours of labor. I will be taking my car and truck here from now on.

I went to stassney and 1st, all I told him was can you fix the check engine light he said yes. The manager and mechanic both asked me about my profession...... what they have to do with that. I am sure they charge their customers by looking at their profession not by looking at the problem/issue they may have.I got my car back on 3rd day instead of 2nd day, while they mentioned it will be done tomorrow afternoon sometime but that was just a big lie. Finally I got my car back and as soon I got to home the light was on back it was late night so i went back to aamco next morning and this time the manger after taking 5-hours told me that they are going to charge me more and I said what this is not my problem and they have to fix it as they already have received their services cost and I paid it at once.What I learn is that dont ever go to Aamco transmission ..... they dont satisfy their customers but just love to charge them for doing nothing.Please go online or some where else but not to aamco (ridiculous place)

Mgr Will Nobles gets right to the point. Told me how long its gonna take till someone can look at my vehicle. Once they test drove it and put it on the rack, Will showed me the part that needed replaced. A few hours later they got me fixed up. I learned a couple things about my vehicle, and drove away happy. Had a transmission issue and radiator issue with my jeep. Brought it in, and got it fixed in about a week. It was expensive, but still cheaper than going somewhere else for a new transmisson. Had another issue with the radiator a few days after I picked the car up. They fixed it for free within the day. Would definitely reccomend this AAMCO.

Awful. Was lied to and not even well. Took my truck in 5 months ago with the check engine light on. Told me i needed to replace a cat and so we did it. They ordered the wrong one, then put it on wrong and i had to bring it back for them to put it on right. Check engine light came back on immediately. went back in and got another part replaced. Check engine light came back on immediately. Went back and they say Both cats are bad. are you sure you replaced the right one last time? Yeah, i think so. Ok, so we order both replacement cats, with one of them being free under warranty. First, it takes over a week for the part to come in (im guessing they forgot to order it). Then when they get it, they decide, oh, we just realized it has four cats...and its the ones in the front that are bad. Its been pulling the same p0420 code this entire time. How did you get the wrong cat? Well, i dont really have an answer for that So wait, what youre telling me is that first off, you didnt know there was four on there. Second, you didnt ACTUALLY check to see which ones were bad. And third, that entire initial cat replacement probably wasnt even necessary?! HOW do you still have a job?? Absolutely crazy.DO NOT GO HERE. They will lie to you every step of the way, never fix your vehicle, and rob you all at once.

Second time visiting this place and still impressed. They are very competent with transmission repair and did a great job explaining everything to me so that I could understand. They also got the job done ahead of schedule even though everyone else is struggling to get anything done during this pandemic and shortages.

New transmission clutch replacement.Had to bring it back after 6 weeks dueto grinding noise when clutch pressed.Bringing it back was no issue with me,Currently Waiting 2 weeks for Completion.Looks like they got upset on me bringing itback. Was quoted $2,000, but paid $2,700when picked up with no explanation aboutthe added charges and still waiting for theRepair.

They diagnosed, ordered the part, and fixed my car in about an hour and half, and it was a same day appointment. It was a Monday so that probably helped the speed, but it was still the most fast service I have ever gotten.

I took my Jeep Cherokee in not knowing what was wrong with the transmission. They didnt try to up sale me on everything. Quality work & great warranty.This shop is hands down the best experience Ive had with a mechanic.

I went to get my A/C fixed. They told me it was $120 to flush and about $200.To get my orings replaced both sides $400 because they detected a leak. I went to another mechanic and he fixed for $100. That place is not legit and is trying to scam your money so i would be step in there place again..if I were you!!!!!!

All and all very trust worthy! They Know what they are doing and do it well the frist time no b.s. Had transmission issue that they would look at it and diagnosed the transmission for free to give me a idea of what can be done and stuck to there word! Alex Mueller is a professional.. I went into get my engine light checked out.. he had me in and out in 3 hours.. he dealt with warranty people and I had to dish out 72 dollars for partial parts cost .. I absolutely recommend this guy .. his professional and considerate.. thanks Alex

Dont waste your time with these morons. Took my car in and they told me they needed to hook up the diagnostic machine to it. $200 later they tell me i need a new motor. Took my car to a real mechanic $600 later problem solved. If all you need is an oil change they might be able to help but at this point i wouldnt even trust them to tighten a lug nut.

We took our Suburban in because our check engine light was on talked with Will about what was going on he said they would check it out and let us know well it turned out our transmission was going out. Will told us are options and how much it would cost without pressure for them to do it said it was up to us so we decided to get the transmission done and our suburban is running like a champ. They were great to fix our dodge intrepid after running a diagnostics test to figure out the problem. I would recommend them to anybody! I love them, you should try them if you are having car problems.

Brought my truck at 8 am to get looked at. Alex told me they will take a look at it the same day. Called me at 5:20 pm [ they close at 6pm ] just to tell me that they didn’t look at it and that I would have to wait until Monday.

Took my truck in for check engine light they charge us 2000 to fix it when i pick it up was told everything was fix an was safe to drive i drove of the engine light came back on my wheel locks an all lights come on they had to get it tow back to there shop they get a call back 3 days after saying that it was something else they charge me for the tow an gave me another estimate for 2000 i just pick up my truck took it to another mechanic that charge me 150 to fix the problem just show how much of a rip off this company is they change the wrong wheel bearing on my truck so the problem wasnt solve an they still try to get more money from us please do not take your vehicles here there a rip off over charging an adding to your estimate things that dont really need to be replace worst experience ever
