Later, we had a different problem, and again, he explained in detail what was not functioning and what his crew could do to fix it. The team are highly competent and charge very reasonable rates. They are our go-to HVAC service.

Shelley and the guys went above and beyond to get us serviced, tested and replaced with a new Bryant unit. They fit us in on a tight schedule and modified drain lines and tested system. There were 5 guys here all day and allowed me to watch and learn all about the install. But the first reason I chose them was Shelley. My first call to others would be just a dispatch person but when I called Shelley she took control, assessed my unit with my repair guy and they worked together to find the right unit. She walked me thru every aspect of the paperwork and completed all the paperwork for rebates etc. Shelley was amazing. The guys were super helpful all day as well. Ive referred them to everyone Ive told about our project.

Totally Cool installed a mini-split for my garage and they were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They offered a very reasonable bid, communicated clearly, and did great work on the install. 10/10 would use again for my next A/C needs.

Anthony (owner) personally came out after hours when our home’s AC unit went out on the HOTTEST DAY ALL YEAR in 2024. Our unit is only 3 years old but had blown a capacitor due to buildup of residue over the outside coils. Anthony quickly addressed this and had us back up and running just an hour after he arrived. He also took the time to show me how to care for the unit and perform routine maintenance myself to avoid this problem in the future. He stuck around to ensure our house was cooling appropriately and he gave us a fair and honest rate for the service despite being short notice and after hours. These guys should be your first call if you have AC issues!

We knew our AC was on its last leg and wanted to handle it before summer. Looking into rebates, I discovered that we could finance at 0% for TEN YEARS if we did a few more home performance improvements. Totally Cool was one of Austin Energys approved contractors and they made the whole process smooth as butter. Really excellent communication, quick and responsive about questions, and went above and beyond to resolve a concern. Now we have a new system with better home performance and monthly payment under $90 with no interest. They earned their name and I highly recommend them.

We just purchased two AC units and thermostats from Totally Cool. They came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! Their service from the service call with Jeff through installation with the rest of the crew was outstanding. We had questions about the units, etc. and Shelly was great to work with too. The whole group was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we could not be happier that we used them. I highly recommend Totally Cool for any AC or heating need you may have.

I learned about this heating, ventilating, and air conditioning company through the City of Austin’s weatherization program. I regret that I did not know about them sooner! I used this business to perform the weatherization needed to bring my home up to code and to install a new energy efficient HVAC system. This was a large amount of work on an older Austin home. Their bid was competitive. And the crew that did the work was exceptional. They coordinated with me and kept me well informed throughout the project. I love that this is a locally owned, family business that takes a great deal of pride in the quality of their work. I highly recommend them and will be using them in the future for maintenance.

Not recommended for new installation. Got a very high-level quote with 6 options (2 types and 3 brands). Choose 1 brand and asked few questions but response was not apt/clear in email, so asked for a call back that i never got. When called they never picked-up and no-response.

Totally Cool came by today to install exhaust vents for my bathrooms and microwave that had been neglected. Was buried in insulation and rough to find, but they did a great job and explained the process and hurdles to me as they went. Would definitely recommend

Almost two decades ago we purchased a new AC unit from this company. We needed a maintenance check on this system so it was good to know they were still in business.This company has great inventory - needed equipment + supplies for on the job sites. Jeff was the technician who showed up. He gave us a through explanation of what was going on with our system - what the job covered + guarantees/warranties, etc. Jeff was very knowledgeable, experienced + did quality work.I appreciated him explaining the process as well as providing us with a few tips to help us maintain our system. a great company that I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is having issues with their AC/heating unit(s).

Im very happy I went with Totally Cool to replace my AC unit. I did my research and knew what I wanted and the expected cost. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all my questions. Their price was in the ballpark for what I expected to pay, unlike the other bids I received. They did a great job and my home is comfortable again. Shelly sent Anthony M out and he knew exactly how to troubleshoot my aging AC unit at a very reasonable price and my house is cool and comfortable now! I am so thankful and feel like their honesty and reliability is bar-none.(previous post and 4 stars) Totally Cool cane out in 2020 to weatherize my house and thank god they did because the following year we had SnowVID and I like to think that what they did was like a warm blanket. :)I mainly wanted to talk about how Shelly is the perfect example of superior customer service. The smart thermostat (Sensi) that the City of Austin suggested they install ended up failing in the hottest part of 2022 and they responded very quickly to save the day.Solutions are their strong suit and quality is a top priority and I appreciate it! I’m happy to call them my HVAC contractor from here on out!

Tl;dr: Totally Cool will save you money and is HONEST.Totally Cool saved me 10k. This is not an exaggeration. Jeff spent time figuring out the issue, found multiple mistakes with my original installation and actually FIXED my AC with adding more coolant. I now have cooler air than ever before. Mostly, I appreciate Jeffs professionalism and willingness to explain what was going on.My experience with two OTHER companies:1) Youll deal with a callcenter that is not local2) Spent under 10 minutes diagnosing my issue, which was incorrect3) Upsold me on a whole new AC unit; literally had a salesperson on the phone4) Was told a replacement part was not under warranty and would take over a month to arrive. This was NOT TRUE; Jeff confirmed the part (which I dont need) was actually under warranty5) Neither company followed-up on the cheaper option of replacing the part (again, dont need) which they inflated by thousands of dollars to make the AC unit seem like a bargainBe wary and know that most other companies are taking advantage of your desperation.Questions to ask: Does it sound like a script? Are they immediately trying to sell you a new unit?Most of all, call Totally Cool and save yourself days without AC, thousands of dollars, and a headache!!!

Was absolute floored by Totally Cools level of service. Shelley was quick to respond every time I reached out and always very helpful in her responses - she made the scheduling, payment, and rebate a breeze. Mark was beyond knowledgeable and took his time to figure out a game-plan that would be best for the house as it was built in 1972 and needed a complete gut of existing, relocation, and install of new system. Mark also never stopped checking in on the project from start to finish - he ensured it was being installed accurately and professionally by his team. The class didnt stop there as the entire installation crew was always on time and professional. My gf and I both work from home and they were as polite as possible and so respectful. I collected four quotes for this project and Totally cool was very competitive and fair with their pricing. Will personally recommend this company to anybody in the market.

Totally Cool took good care of us through the process of putting in a new AC and furnace. Mark was straight forward about the options, pricing and timeframe. Their pricing was very reasonable allowing us to choose a two stage system inside and out. We had them insulate and seal up cracks, taking advantage of the city rebate program. They took care of dealing with the city and Austin Energy. Their crews were professional and courteous and they followed up during the whole process making sure everything was right. I chose these guys over 3 other AC companies because they were the cheapest and Mark explained the different options and prices without trying to up sell. He was very flexible with me wanting to get a heat pump hybrid system and even recommended installing another register in a room that gets a hot spot. He was not a high pressure salesman with fancy brochures and high prices. Other bids were asking 3-4 thousand more dollars. Shelley works in the office and was extremely good about communication and was polite. Anthony has been in the business for 16 years and was very knowledgeable and nice. He did the final walk through with me.

Our AC stopped working, totally Cool came out the same day, diagnosed the problem. They made an attempt to reset the hipressure valve to try and fix the issue at a low cost. The reset didn’t hold and they needed to replace the outside fan. They were back the very next day and fixed everything. AC works great. Really appreciate a company that offers and tries a lower cost alternative rather than just going straight to replacement. The bill came in cheaper than expected and was extremely fair. Great experience over all and will be a repeat customer.

Once again Totally Cool exceeded expectations. Jeff came to do a maintenance check on the A/C. Hes friendly, VERY knowledgeable and explained what he was doing and taught me a little about how A/Cs actually cool and dehumidify the air - cuz Im a nerd that way. Ive used these folks for many years and recommended them to many others. Highly recommend them!

My AC suddenly stopped turning on. I called and a technician was at my house within an hour. He quickly found what caused the initial problem, but was thorough in making sure there wasnt a secondary problem. He caught another big issue that I wasnt aware of and did a great job explaining what it was while never trying to upsale me. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone needing repairs.

Anthony is very knowledgeable about ac units and gave us a lot of info about our unit. He checked out our ac system and added coolant to our system. We enjoyed meeting him. Everyone at Totally Cool is so nice and helpful, and we are so glad we can depend on them.

Great service!! Anthony got up on a 2 story roof (it was 107 degrees), and quickly diagnosed the problem with my a/c. Replaced a capacitor, cleaned the coils, added a little freon, and it is working better than ever now! He also cleaned the drain while he was up there. This is the second time I have used this company, and I would highly recommend them!!

I guess the experience varies a lot by technician assigned to you. Mine did a ver poor job cleaning the condenser, and I was charged for 1lb of freon without being told about it, guy came, did the poor cleaning and said he “added” 1lb of freon, without telling me in advance I get $89 added to the visit because of that, seemed scammy nit to let me know they were going to do that, specially since I didn’t have cooling problem and would like to be present for that, to make sure something is actually added. I complained via email and the guy came back to tell me if I wanted that lb taken out, but the problem is I don’t even know if it was really added after the fishy approach they took.Maybe if you have an issue they are great, but for regular maintenance in my area I do not recommend them, as a matter of fact, I would recommend against them.

Wonderful experience with this company. Everyone we worked with was helpful, patient and kind - dealt with our 1 million questions with grace, handled all the warranties and rebates and loans through Austin Energy - would recommend them to absolutely anyone.

Totally Cool did a GREAT job installing new air conditioner ducts and also insulation at my home. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to have this type of work done.

Totally Cool diagnosed my ac issue and quoted @ $1,300. I authorized the repair, and was greeted by a different technician for the repair. Without looking at my ac im immediately told he doesnt believe their diagnosis was correct, although I still had to pay for their mid-diagnosis. He went on to say he’s a 20yr veteran and is actually about to buy the company. He very confidently claims he’s gonna take a look and get me up and running for way less than $1,300. I said I will stay out of your way but would like to ask occasionally questions to learn about my system. He has no problem talking to me, but he does say soo much technical jargon, could make your head swim. During his diagnosing he changed his mind 3 times, yet again wants to say im a 20yr veteran, about to buy the company, and u can look me up online...he had a nickname for himself. At one point his 3rd idea is apparently wrong, he gets frustrated with me for watching and threatens to just walk off on the job! I had to ensure him i’m just watching to learn and your the pro, please move ahead and do the repair. I had my own r-22 they agreed to use if needed. He believed it was not the reversing valve diagnosed originally, but simply my blower motor fins were too dirty creating restriction, and wanted to clean my coils and increase fan speed. He drained system of my r-22 then said he could not put it back in. Not sure why he took it out anyway! So he offered to save me $ and replace it with the drop-in refrigerant MO99, for only $50! I told him to either use my own tank of r-22 or his proposed MO99, and I’d leave it to his expertise. He went with MO99...AC lasted about 3 weeks and no longer works. New company noted on their paperwork that previous company left no indication of them putting MO99 in system as required, compressor locked-up and when a drop-in replacement is not done properly your compressor will cease up.

Great company! Came in to the house did the inspection and quickly had a date for them to come back and improve my home to save energy and money in bills. Always available when I called for any questions and overall great work.
