Hightower Service

We have a yearly service contract with Hightower Service. Twice a year a tech comes to our home to inspect our HVAC system to make sure its up to snuff. Today I called to set up our fall inspection. Tim said theyd had a cancellation and a tech could come out today -- In fact, itd be his next job. Phil arrived within an hour and took care of everything for us. He was professional and courteous, and he worked quickly. Thankfully our system was A-OK. I really like the people at Hightower and the work they do. I highly recommend them -- especially if you have a Carrier system.

Super friendly over the phone. Fast service. 3 stars because they are over-priced for a customer like myself. An “$80, 30-minute diagnostic” turned into a $485 charge for having my compressor hosed down and for having a tech inspect my unit for almost 2 hours only to tell me it was an unnecessary hockey puck sensor that was causing it to fail. The actual breakdown:•$80 to show up•$81.25 to hose down the compressor with water•$185/hour for labor and diagnosis (according to my invoice).The next day the unit stopped working again and they came back and said it was actually the blower motor. I was quoted $2,240.60 to have it replaced. Tech said I wouldn’t be able to purchase a Carrier motor or a cheaper option myself because I’m not a licensed technician or dealer of the brand. As soon as he left, and after a 10-minute search, I found this to be otherwise. I ended up purchasing an almost identical gentec motor (which is the kind my Carrier unit uses) from an HVAC store in Garland for $456.06 + tax, where they also installed it into the housing at no additional cost. I was given the same exact warranty offered by Hightower. An A/C tech that I was referred to, installed it back into the unit for $100. Turned out to be a $1,646.92 savings. If you have a lot of money, you can definitely opt for this company. If you don’t have an arm and a leg to give up, be sure to check other options before accepting their high quotes.

We called them regarding a heating issue with our HVAC system. Over the phone, they mentioned an $80 diagnostic fee, with additional charges for any required parts. However, the technician spent an hour diagnosing the issue and charged us $172, explaining that it’s $80 for every 30 minutes of labor. This critical detail was conveniently omitted during the call when I scheduled the appointment. As first-time customers, we chose this company because our usual maintenance provider was unavailable. I believe it’s essential for businesses to clearly communicate all charges upfront to avoid surprising customers when they see the bill.***********Update*********** :Hello John ,Thank you for your response. I want to clarify the situation regarding our recent service.Anandhitha Krishnan, my wife, called your company on December 11th and was told there would be an $80 diagnostic fee. However, it was never mentioned that this fee only covered the first 30 minutes of diagnostics, with additional charges thereafter. This critical detail was omitted, leading us to believe the $80 fee covered the entire diagnostic process.We paid the amount without issue but later called to provide feedback about the lack of clarity. Unfortunately, the response felt dismissive. Our usual provider charges $105 for diagnostics and communicates their pricing clearly, regardless of the time spent.Our concern is not the cost but the communication. Transparent pricing upfront is essential to avoid misunderstandings. I hope this feedback helps improve future customer interactions.And your response is not correct as we never refused the repair. We only called to ask as the 30 minute was never mentioned. And also your manager was repeatedly asking the same thing over and over not even bothered to apologize as me and wife heard what the guys said when we called and never mentioned the 30 minutes.

Exceptional service! The electrician that came to my house (Gage) was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. He installed a plug/ cord for my disposal and repaired a ceiling fan/ light combo in a very short period! Hightower Services is an honest, knowledgeable AC company that has serviced our AC units and solved several emergency situations over the past few year. We recently had our AC quit (right before the Texas summer). We called and they were there to fix the issue the next day. Were very glad we decided to purchase a contract.

But by 9:30 this morning it was operational again and the house was warming up. Hightower always comes through for us. I recommend them to anyone that has HVAC and/or electrician needs.

Hottest day this summer and the A/C goes out. Called HSI and within an hour a technician arrived. He replaced a circuit board to get the A/C running again. Quick, expert response (Orbin). Saved me spending nights in a hotel.

Finally replaced my 25 year old HVAC with a Carrier Infinity heat pump. From the initial contact to the final installation, everything was a breeze. This is a well-oiled professional operation. The crew arrived in the morning on time and did a superior job. I only wish I had done it sooner. Highly, highly recommended!

We are so grateful to Hightower for taking such good care of us yesterday. We arrived home from a trip about 12:30 noon to find our A/C not working and a very hot house. I called Hightower who said they would be out that very afternoon. They sent Brandon to us who did a great job! He washed down the compressor and did other great things to give us awesome air conditioning. Ive been a residential client with Hightower for a few years. I purchased their maintenance agreement, so they come out twice a year and service my equipment. Phil is a regular tech assigned to my area. Hes pleasant. Phil explains everything to me, and I trust his work, along with others from the office. They work to make sure my equipment is maintained. I always recommend Hightower to my neighbors.

I have a top of the line Carrier heating and cooling system. I recently ended up in the ER with CO poisoning. Phil came to check out the dangerous situation and discovered a squirrel in the exhaust pipe blocking it that caused pressure to pop off a cap inside the exhaust unit in the furnace. CO was going directly in my house. Rare occurrence, but he didn’t stop until he figured out the problem. He was professional, kind and worked very hard to make sure that I am safe. I highly recommend them.

My first interaction with Hightower has been very good. They were very kind and helpful on the phone and the technician that arrived was personable and kind.This is how I came to choose Hightower: Last year I had a heater inspection performed by a large HVAC company just before winter. They took a lot of pictures and claimed that my heaters would need to be replaced soon and my heat exchangers were near failure. I didnt believe them. But I did have heating issues that winter and began to wonder if there was some merit (not complete) to my previous inspection.Fast forward to now, and I wanted a second opinion. I searched a lot through reviews and wanted to find someone local with some history and found Hightower. Hightower came out, diagnosed the problem fairly quickly and replaced the part in the same day. I spoke with the technician to educate me uncertain parts of the system and it became apparent that my previous company was trying to manipulate me into buying new stuff.So I can say this - in my first interaction, I really like these guys. They were honest and took time to educate me. Gave me rules of thumb and all the things that I like to know. I think I have finally found my guys!

Our air conditioner went out late one afternoon Hightower sent someone out immediately. He arrived within 30 minutes. The problem was diagnosed quickly, new motor found promptly and came the next day. We are so pleased with the expert and professional help from Nick. He and Mike really care and take excellent care of their customers.

I was having issues with my A/C not cooling fast enough. After calling High tower, James was sent and it could not have been better. He was very knowledgeable and did thorough diagnosis of my A/C. He has a very special skill set in diagnosing and able to explain it to where people can understand exactly whats going on. He knew how work with my older Carrier system I had, which no other tech had explained to me some of things he did about my system. Hightower is so lucky to have him. Had issues with our system and wanted to get a quote for a new system. I called them for a proposal on a new system and they came out the next day. They spent time looking at the existing system and talking me through what they found. Explained everything very clearly and helped me to understand my options. No pressure, very laid back sales. Gave me 6 different options based on what we discussed. We picked the option that worked best for us and scheduled a time for install a week or so later. They showed up on time, did a walk through and got to work. Workers were very friendly and professional and did great work. During installation process, I was made aware of what issues they had found that had been done by other companies over the years (house built in 1978). Work was completed on time as planned and they did great work. Very happy with the system we chose and very glad we used Hightower service. Highly recommend.

EXCELLENT! Exactly as good as ever. BACK 5 YEARS AGO.For some unknown reason, this Google review just popped up and makes it look like only 3 months ago. Unfortunately, its been more like 5 YEARS AGO since our last service from Hightower. Albeit, I know from that experience they were still top notch. But again, I have no idea where that random, recent post and review came from. Truly hope they are still that company. BTW, I did meet Mr. Hightower of the 1990s. At that time he had an incredible service manager that never accepted less than perfection out of the service techs. Dont know if family inherited the business since then. But I found him to be very honest and genuine. He and his associates always kept their word.

The fan on my heat pump went out this morning and they had someone there in 20 minutes. Replaced the fan with OEM parts. Great experience, and signed up for a service contract.

Phil our service tech is fantastic and honest guy. He went over things and explained how a previous HVAC company (that was here 2 days before) had done things wrong in attempt to sell me a new compressor.Phil and the guys at Hightower are definitely the only HVAC company we will be using in the future. They did not try to price gouge me and sell me things they I did not need, like the other company that had come out.

I have never had a bad experience with Hightower. We have been using them for over 10 years now. From replacing a very old ac to maintaining this new one, I gont have a single complaint. They always come on the same day we call, their service people are professional and thorough. I always feel treated honestly and fairly. James, who came out today was amazing and quick. On Wednesday, Oct 18th, Phil Richey came to my home to evaluate my heating and air conditioning systems. Mr. Richey went way beyond my expectations! Of course as expected, he was courteous and professional, but he even used some equipment he carried in his truck to cap off a sprinkler head that was causing damage to my unit. When my sprinkler system came on, I went to check to make sure it was truly not spraying. I discovered that he had even fixed the gate on my fence that had been broken. James is a great HVAC technican! Professional, nice, informed, patient, and my dog likes him! He explained the situation with my HVAC in simple to understand terms. James had my system fixed and up and running pronto. Shout out to Tim with the home office as well. I called at 7:30 am expecting to talk to a machine. Instead Tim picked up within 2 rings and had the order assigned quickly. When was the last time that happened! I do appreciate talking to a human not a machine, no press 1 to leave a voice mail nonsence. Maybe Im old fashioned, but I do appreciate service people wearing a uniform with the company name clearly shown. Quality and professional service. Very pleased!

They were very quick to respond, so I am thankful for that. The technician fixed the problem. However, price gouging is not acceptable in my book. I pulled the part (Carrier motor module) up on Grainger website, the most expensive one being $730, and they upcharged me $1000!! charging me $1700 just for the part. I also got charged for driving to pick up the part. Unbelievable. A $2000 bill for a $700 part.

Our high tower Tech Kip came to do a regular check-up on our heating and air conditioning unit. He did a great job. He also went above and beyond by going up in the attic and checking our duct system. He found a gap in the duct work and fixed it. We were very very happy that he found that. We have been using Hightower services for years and just love every one of their technicians. Thank you Hightower services!

Cliff was precisely on time. He was professional and efficient, going about his inspection procedure. When finished, Cliff covered the Cooling System Inspection Report in detail, and pointed out areas of future potential failures of the equipment. I started using Hightower at my own home 21 years ago. They replaced three units at my house over time as the builder-grade units that came with the house failed. They always provided sound advice about fix vs. replace. When my mother moved nearby, they put in a new unit for her. Recently they replaced two units at an investment property we own. Is Hightower the cheapest? Absolutely not. But, on Carrier equipment they are competitive and, more importantly, they can get Carriers attention when they need to if there is a special issue to address. Above all, they do the job right. Their maintenance technicians are well-trained and respectful of the property. When my daughter and her husband bought their first house, Hightower took over maintenance and addressed issues leftover from the previous owner. Our business has grown with them to the point where they maintain 7 properties for us totaling 12 units. I highly recommend them if you want the job done right the first time and value high quality service. Hey, they are good enough for my elderly mother and my daughter they will certainly do a great job for you!

After paying so much money earlier this year with A#1 Air for extra services we didnt need, I was very hesitant to call anyone to check our a/c unit to find out why it wasnt cooling. After doing some checking online in our neighborhood message board, Hightower came up again and again with excellent recommendations.Our technician, Justin, was very knowledgeable and fixed our a/c unit with the replacement of a capacitor which was quite affordable. Thirty minutes after he arrived, we had cold air again.I highly recommend Hightower Services to anyone! 5 Stars!

Kip Smith from Hightower Service, Inc in Arlington, TX did an excellent job on our preseason air conditioner check. His extensive work experience on air conditioning systems gives him the opportunity to know things about the equipment and develop the wisdom that much less experienced technicians would not likely match. He was so good on sharing useful information and making good suggestions, I will request him for any future air conditioning repairs or checks. Cliff took care of my emergency situation on a Saturday morning and responded quickly to my phone request. Our A/C system went dark yesterday when the outside temperature was predicted to be 97. I called and much to my surprise, they said they could have someone out that very afternoon. Cliff arrived late in the afternoon, and worked for a long time in our attic which had to be 120 degrees, but before he left we were up and running. He is a very professional and dedicated A/C technician and we much appreciate being back in the cool.

We have used Hightower service for over 20 years. They are quick to respond and very efficient. The technician who came yesterday, Justin, was knowledgeable, very polite and explained the problem to me . It was the hottest day of the year and he worked hard to fix the problem with the a/c and even rechecked the issue before he he left, only to find another problem had presented itself! Justin continued to research the issue until he solved it. He was very polite, advised me on some maintenance I should be doing and even changed a light bulb I couldnt reach. More companies should hire quality men such as he is! Thankyou Hightower for having such a professional staff, you should be very proud!!

Our A/C stopped cooling on a 100 degree Sunday night and we called Hightower. Cliff came out a little sooner than expected, but that was appreciated. He quickly determined the problem was me. :) I had failed to keep the outdoor compressor unit clean and it shut itself down to protect from over-heating. Cliff patiently explained everything, cleaned it all out and then went through his standard diagnosis tests to confirm his hunch. Once everything cooled down, it was back to normal. I was very grateful for his gracious attitude and would recommend him to anyone looking for A/C service.

Hightowers employees are knowledgeable and informative. They explain what they are doing and the new programs they are offering. They are not pushy with customers to purchase a new program offered either which I appreciate. They explain and recommend it with no pressure. The employee that came to give a seasonal check today, Juan, was nice and pleasant. Thank you Hightower for always giving good service.

Tenants had smoke blowing into the rental and shut off the air conditioner. I called Hightower and they responded promptly and were able to send someone out a couple hours after I called. They replaced a faulty part and fixed the problem for the tenants within a short time (10-15 min, according to tenants). I got the invoice via email and paid it without issue. I will use them again, if needed.

We recently had to have our AC replace and Hightower did a great job. They came out quickly for our quote and they did a great job with the installation and communicating with us throughout the process. They exceeded our expectations.

Service response was fast for a problem we had with the primary A/C drains being clogged. Both technicians immediately began working and fixed the problem quickly. Hightower Service Inc is dependable and has great employees specializing in performing HVAC and Electrical work.

Hightower was not the dealer who installed this system and am currently holding back from listing installing dealer in hoping they will honor their install an make the necessary adjustments. Ashton Buckner, the service technician from Hightower Service, came today for the annual service and performance checkup. Prior to arrival both he and customer service called to keep me informed of his arrival time. Ashton was courteous and represented Hightower as a knowledgeable professional taking the time to answer questions and further demonstrate features of the Infinity thermostat.From my initial contact with Hightower last year, the evaluation and quote, installation of the new system, through todays service, they have been an excellent company to work with.

Tech, Juan E. is definitely Hightower Service, Inc. 911 A/C Guy! Over 100 degrees and the A/C keeps tripping the breaker. Juan listened carefully to the issues I was experiencing and after a complete and through inspection (inside/out) diagnosed as well as cleaned and repaired my A/C unit with appropriate parts used with my TRANE unit. AMAZING!!!!!!!The reason I say AMAZING is that Id worked with another A/C company for a few years. This particular problem (about 3 weeks) that companies first trip they could find nothing wrong. Their second trip (5 days later) they claimed I needed a new Condenser Fan Motor which was replaced with a suggestion if any further problems I may need a new fan blade.Although I agreed to have the condenser fan motor replaced something just did not feel right whereas Im questioning if they really knew what was actually the cause.Unfortunate but (6) days later the problem continued and that companies only response was that they would replace the original motor and refund all the money except their service charge. WOW!!!!!********And then there is Hightower Service, Inc. to the rescue who went above and beyond to help me checking the electrical with Tech Deno and the A/C with Tech Juan. Through his inspections he established the proper functioning of my original motor (never required replacement) nor any need for a replacement fan blade. He diagnosed the problems with detailed explanations that I could understand and answered all my questions. I just had a regular checkup on our new units installed by Hightower. Cliff the technician brought to my attention the lack of insulation around the pull-down staircase and offered to remedy the issue with a thermal zipping shield. He installed the cover in 15 minuets!Thanks to Cliff for sharing his knowledge and informing me about the issue. Cliff also alerted me to the anomalous heat build up in one of my attics. I will have my handyman inspect for possible clogged soffits.

Hightower service never lets me down. They have come out 3 times for very issues on my older system, and has done a quality job each time and for a reasonable price for 5 star service. Ask for Cliff hes our man

The gentlemen who installed the new unit were professional and very polite. Getting the indoor unit install was not easy but getting the outdoor unit installed was not an easy task due to the confined and tight space. They had to trim and remove some shrubs and they kept me informed along the way. I couldnt ask for a better installation team. Thank you very much.

Eric at Hightower was great. He came to our rescue on a holiday weekend. He had to wait on a part but was back promptly as soon as the part was available. He was very personable and professional.

Eric Carson serviced both of my Carrier HVAC Systems. He checked the filters and told me they did not need to be replaced. Eric did an evaporator wash and a coil wash on both units. He installed a surge protector on both units. This was in addition to my semi-annual RMA service call. Eric also recomended I add pan safeties on the next service call. He did an excellent job!

Professional service tech. Arrival time was on schedule. A written price was quoted for repairs and I feel sound advice was given. I did not have repairs made at the time as I wanted to shop pricing. After price comparison, Hightowers price for this repair is high.

Not recommended for annual maintenance. Technicians were eager to sell their extra cleaning service, but didnt advise to fix potential installation problems that could fail A/C system.
