HVAC was having damper issues freezing up air return and chalked it up to two of them being the old style one way electric motor vs the newer two way I had replaced on one of them. Quoted me $1900 to replace a single damper which is patently absurd. Went to diagnose it myself and found they left the housing open and screws scattered about which I had to replace back into the unit. I also found the manual return damper at some point had been sabotaged and inserted backwards so that it could only tilt LEFT or RIGHT and not DOWN CENTER with the attached weight where it would close, as the UP CENTER position is impossible for it to remain closed.I returned it to the normal down position and forced it to stay centered, now the partially iced up coils are rapidly cooling my house down with ice cold air and thawing out. They either didnt notice this or planned to quietly fix it when they bilked me for upwards of three grand. I have had this problem previously and I suspect another operator but cannot narrow it down. However Chill Time, J & S and several others failed to spot this obvious issue and correct it and told me the a damper is sticky and needs to be replaced.Edit: This is a Barometric pressure dampner and it works as a bypass if the filter gets clogged or other issues related to uneven pressure in the system. From what I can figure out someone sabotaged this 2-3 years ago by unscrewing it and flipping it over so it could never enter the normal closed state, as it showed clear signs of having been installed correctly. J & S is clearly NOT responsible for this but the failed to check this on their inspection and it took me less than 5 minutes after reading a basic HVAC guide to go check the barometric and indeed if you see it anything but straight up and down you have an issue!
Absolutely terrible. 1st they worked on the A/C and turned it completely off without telling us it would be off. My dog was in the house in this heat. After this, they ordered a part and it took 3 weeks to get here. They worked on the a/c again. I got home and it was 85 degrees in the house with the outside unit not working. They wrote in their report that everything was fixed and didn’t intend on returning. It’s been almost a month and I’m still living in this heat. Completely unprofessional.
We recently had our old, outdated air conditioner replaced. The initial inspection was very thorough and informative. I was given several options, including helpful financing. They were very prompt and efficient on the day of install. They even went above and beyond to help with some duct work in the attic. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. What a great business. I was looking for the small town customer service and that is exactly what I received with J & S. I highly recommend them.
I have been a customer of J&S Air for over 14 years since my unit was installed by them new. After faithful fall/winter servicing each year and other recent service maintenance, I find my investment for the current condition over the years was not as I had expected. Now I am told service tiers have changed reducing what is done for the money. Very disappointing experience for a company I had expected would do better for my years of loyalty. I guess its time to look elsewhere.
I really hate to downgrade my rating for this company since they really did an amazing job doing a full new HVAC install through Home Depot. Always answered my calls and Bobby even came out to my work location when I couldnt be there to sign some paperwork during install. Everything was installed properly; however, just a few weeks ago I found that the drainage tube needed to be adjusted because the flood sensor was being tripped after a few minutes of running the A/C (my install was in winter so this was not obvious at the time). I called and called and only ever got an answering machine and have never received a call back. Had to call another company to fix it. Maybe they are out of business?
This review is written in the customer services perspective and not in the sales perspective. Sales team does the job right! Id give them an A plus. However customer services is simply not there. Let me explain. J&S installed my AC about 3 years ago. They did an excellent job at selling the products and the installation was OK too. However anyone can sell an AC unit, but not everyone knows the definition of customer service. When I payed over 12k for my brand new AC units (TRANE) all was good. My AC stopped working last week so I called J&S to come and check my AC. The technician came and looked for about 15 minutes and said they needed to replace some stuff and left. Then I got the call from the service department and they told me the fix was gonna cost a little under 1k (labor only, parts were covered by TRANEs warranty). Then, I called the next day to see when I was scheduled for the install and I was told that the parts would need to be ordered and it would take a week and a half to arrive (I guess expedited shipping is not an option). Finally, today (a week and half later) they installed the parts and well I asked customer services if they could tune up my other AC unit so that I wouldnt have to pay a service call twice, but I suppose thats too much to ask. Its not the first time I encounter bad customer service so Ill just give them a bad review and go my merry way. This is not an attack on the technician this is against the person who sits behind a phone at J&S for customer service. Overall this has cost me over 1k and that hurts. The slogan is At J&S Air we are committed to the satisfaction of our customer,... I guess Im not a customer.
Went through Home Depot as they sell they A/C units i need installed. I have placed two calls with Home Deport, both were transferred to J&S which answered promptly. The problem is they claim someone will call you back in 30 minutes. Well almost two days later I missed a call from someone with J&S so I tried to call back immediately and got his voicemail. Waited another five business days and called back and mentioned no one ever follow up with me and once again told someone would call me right back...it has now been four days and no call
J&S just installed our new Trane a/c here in Waxahachie this week (Dec08) - the crew was extremely professional and did an unbelievably nice job - we had this unit replaced about 15 yrs ago when we purchased the house and the difference between that job and the one J&S did was like night and day. The price was very good, and they made certain that I knew that they appreciated my business. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs hvac work - (Contracted with them through Home Depot) -
I have used J&S many times in the past and spent lots of $ over the years. Not any more. After making an appointment for today between 12 and 4, at 415 after nada all day I called. Not only was I not in the dispatch system, the lady who took my appointment could not find it in the system. I guess a/c companies deserve a spot next to the cable company. Ill find me a local company now.
Great service from the start! Easy to schedule an appointment. I had called on a Saturday and had a service appointment on the following Tuesday. Technician orded the part that was needed and came back the same week on Thursday to finish the job! Its the middle of summer and they were super busy but the customer service was great and the service was quick and easy. I will be continuing my service with J & S air!

What a lifesaver these people are!!!! I bought a new house and had them replace all of the ducting. We were doing a lot of other renovations and 3 weeks after we closed the air conditioner completely stopped working! I was 8 MONTHS PREGNANT and had a 19 month old baby so I was in total panic mode. They got a technician out to me right away and he determined my AC was basically ruined from a contractor turning it on while scraping popcorn ceiling which totally ruined it with the dust. The awesome part is he got my air conditioner to at least run again while we discussed options for a new system and even came out another time to fix it again before the new install. Loved this company. Highly recommend!
Ive tried for 2 days to get a return call from J&S Air. They installed the HVAC for my home in 2016. Every year I have had to call them to come out because the AC will stop cooling. As the warranty ended, it has become even harder to get in contact with them as the builder no longer will contact them on the home owners behalf. All calls basically are just dropped, and even if you choose the emergency service option, they dont response to their own voice service.
Fort Worth, TXI had a new Ac/ Heat Pump installed and had very very minor issues with the new install mostly not know exactly how a heat pump and its abilitys. But other than that they are 100% recommended in my books. What sad is that I tried about everyone of those called experts in their field in the yellow pages and none of them could give me a solid quote. This company came out gave me a quote less than the other Trane dealers in DFW and were not pushy what so ever when they did the assessment for a new system for my home. Now they are busy but there is a reason they are is because they are the best and after trying to deal with 11 different AC companies in person and over 30 on the phone I can say for 100% certainly they are. Just for facts my last month bill in December 2010 was $34.98 last year (Dec 2009) same temps different ac unit it was $160. The old system wasnt really that old either only was 8 years old but with that saving this system pays for its self every month. I just wish more Ac contractors would set the same high quality standards that they have. Only draw back with J&S is that they are only open M-F; Saturday and Sunday they are closed.
I had a wonderful experience with J&S Air recently. They gave me a great price and their service people were extremely helpful and professional. The customer service has been incredible as they have been out multiple times after the sale to check on my system and make sure it is working properly. I will refer this company to all of my friends!
Extremely great customer service! A/C worked as advertised but had two issues that was covered under warranty. Even when my warranty expired by two weeks they honored it! Bobby was extremely knowledgeable, he let me know exactly what happened, and why we had to replace a specific part. I would HIGHLY recommend them!

Well I had my a/c unit serviced 2 1/2 yrs. ago. Good service. Bought a service package but I didnt use until now. Well I guess I waited to and its off the books. I was told that half to pay for service now. What!!!!!! Oh well give you 10 % off service. I dont care about your books. In my line off we just make it happen. No morals and dishonorable. I would always take care of my customers.
SCAM! They sold us 3 systems with warranty. Now they are out of business and they dont answer calls or texts! John Jacobs, their tech sold us a system a couple weeks before they closed, and scammed us. They also screwed my attic door shut and I cant open it. The system is not inspected by the city and I am about $30K in the hole with systems that are only covered by the manufacturer!They are terrible!
J&S Air is my go to for all my HVAC needs. They have never disappointed and I have recommended them to several of my friends and family members. If you need someone to take care of you like family I say call them now, you will not regret it.
J&S came out at a moments notice and fixed the problem caused by improper wiring by the alarm company. Very reasonable pricing and no concerns about misdiagnosing or finding problems that dont exist. Overall, honest, fast, reliable, and reasonable.

I call and got a service tech out the same day. I think the consultation is pricey but they are very nice people. Ive used them in the pass, always nice. Good company.
Good service once an appointment can be made. Have called 4 times over three days and sent an email with no luck. Your reception voice mailbox is full and everyone is told “this mailbox is full, goodbye”. Your upcoming schedule may be looking suspiciously smaller 🤔.
I wholeheartedly recommend these folks. They are responsive, knowledgable, & courteous. My 85 yr old father is deaf and his furnace went out during a cold spell. Do not let this company service your air conditioner they over charge freon. You will then have to buy a whole new unit.
While I didnt go with this company, my phone interaction was professional and they answered my questions. When I had to call and cancel they didnt give me any problems.
