We chose Mascot Mechanical to replace our 19 year old air conditioning and furnace system upstairs. We chose Mascot after sifting through many quotes from both large and small companies. Simply put, Mascot had the best and simplest pricing, best verbal and written communication, (thanks to Chris Gage), and, most importantly, the most competent, clean, and polite installation crew. We all know that your system is only as good as the installation.Our initial quotes included systems by Daikin, Lennox, and Rheem. After being tempted by the aggressive pricing for the Daikin Fit by all the big companies, we decided to stay with Lennox since our existing systems were Lennox. We didnt want to be the guinea pig for a new, untested system in hot Texas. We narrowed our choices to 2 Lennox systems, the Elite XC20 and XC16 with a coordinating coil (CHX35), furnace (SL280), and thermostat. The pricing for these systems were steep and the price difference between companies varied from $2000-$5000. Lennox had rebates available for certain systems. Also Oncor had an energy incentive rebate program for Texas with certain energy efficient system configurations. Unfortunately for the consumer, this allows too much price manipulation from companies, especially with all the financing options layered into the matrix (like buying a car). We just wanted the best system at the best price which is how we found Mascot. By July, many companies had depleted their Oncor incentive allotment. We found Mascot while searching for a good company that still had available Oncor incentive funds. We were referred to Chris Cage. Chris is awesome! He is honest and works hard to earn your business. No gimmicks, no games, just straight pricing and a guarantee to ensure your system is installed right the first time. Because their pricing was the best, we decided to go with the XC20 with the slick S30 thermostat.Our installers, Blake and his assistant, arrived on time. They took great care with prepping our house to keep their work path clean. They worked all day to complete the installation and cleaned up as if they were never there. Blake is very skilled and takes great pride in his work. It is evident he wants the job done right the first time. Our 5 ton XC20 is a beast! They had to cut back one of our shrubs to provide enough clearance. Our old downstairs unit looks dwarfed beside this juggernaut.For an additional fee, they also modified a few ducts to optimize airflow in our sons room. Chris returned a week later to make a few adjustments to our liking. Chris also fixed an existing issue with an incorrect drain route. Chris made sure our new system worked flawlessly with our slick new S30 thermostat. Upgrading from from an antiquated 10 SEER system to an energy efficient variable speed 20 SEER system has made a drastic difference in our bills. In August, our kwh usage for same month last year decreased almost 40%! Although our kwh usage decreased, our thermostat settings are the same or lower. We are so glad we decided to go with the XC20. When its time to change out our downstairs system, we will definitely call Mascot!

This firm was recommended to us by a friend at church who was very happy with their work on both his home and office. Our house was built in the 1960s, and our water heater was 20 years old and the HVAC about the same. We used Mascot Mechanical for replacing the water heater and bringing it up to current codes. The city inspector commented that they had done a really nice job and the system now has an expansion tank, drains to outside the house, and other features we had been lacking. We also used Mascot to replace the indoor furnace and the indoor part of the AC system and install a new thermostat. Again, they did a really nice job. The people for both jobs were courteous and easy to work with, they cleaned up well after themselves, and we are happy with the new systems that were installed. They seemed very thorough in exploring options and getting things done. Since these were big jobs, we got multiple bids on each job, and Mascots prices were excellent!

Chris Gage at Mascot Mechanical did a very thorough job quoting and installing a brand new HVAC system that replaced the last one which was decades old. The folks at Mascot even removed some unconnected ducts and cleaned up really well after the job was done. Their prices were very competitive amongst the 6 bids I got. Everyone in the installation crew was super professional and courteous. Work was completed on time. I highly recommend them.

I am very pleased and marveled by the all the services the Mascot provided for the AC. The technician who can to diagnose my old unit was polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He explained to all the findings and how he came to the conclusion for his assessment. He gave two options and I opted to replace my 21 year old system. They immediately gave me very completive quote and schedule the replacement immediately.The crew who came to replace the system was also very courteous and knowledgeable. After the replacement of the system, they also did the extra work to make sure the older system was properly insulated and sealed for the peak performance.Before the crew left they clean both the attic, house and outside and tested and made sure all system worked properly. They also went with me the periodic maintenance items and showed me how I can do it myself.Next day the supervisor came and inspected everything to make sure the installation was completed with their quality standard and picked up the payment.I would recommend their services to everyone. I am very impressed with Mascot Mechanicals work ethics and the quality of their services.

Mascot Mechanical replaced my homes heating and cooling system and I couldnt be happier. A friend of mine who is a retired contractor leading new home construction recommended them (actually recommended Pro Star, which has since rebranded as Mascot Mechanical) as one of the best HVAC companies he had worked with.Chris did a great job explaining the systems available and answering my questions on filtration options. I got bids from a few different places and Mascots was very competitive. Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone replacing their AC.

Mascot has been maintaining my homes heat an air for over 7 years. every year they come out and clean the system, check the freon and all the parts. My system is just over 16 years old and they keep it running strong for me. I highly recommend this company.

The plumber came unprepared. So I was told that he needs to come back again, and it will be $145 dollars. Clearly what I was told. When he arrived, it’s again what I was told, that he will be expecting $145 dollars before he leaves. Then when it was time to leave his boss harassed my son that they need to be paid for the first visit plus this visit (two minutes for his unprepared first visit, less than 30 min for the second visit,) and they started getting really loud and demanding my son for money and took $600 from him when he was clearly saying to “speak to my father I’m not the one to talk to.” The plumber worked for about 30 minutes and charged for 2 hours of labor. I have it on camera. No receipt given. What kind of company is this? These are not ethical business practices and they should be shut down.Also, I had 3 different estimates for the same job. One was $12,000, another was $18,000, and Mascot’s was $75,000. You can decide if you want to call them.

They have provided excellent service over the years. This is the company we chose after interviewing a total of 4 companies. I had a new, 5-ton unit installed at my home by Mascot Mechanical in late July 2018. I chose Mascot for two reasons: 1) they came highly recommended from a number of my coworkers that had used them; 2) the prompt response and customer service provided by Chris Cage.I had just survived the 108 degree temps of Julys weekend heatwave and reached out to Chris on a Monday morning. He promptly answered and scheduled an appointment the same evening to provide an estimate. Not only did he come out, but was very pleasant and professional. The following morning I had a typed quote that had been supplied to me in email, followed by a phone call several hours later to ensure that I understood everything and discuss my options. Other companies I had reached to were not able to schedule a walk-through or estimate until much later in the week.Once I scheduled my appointment, which was for the following Monday, Chris came back out to see if there was anyway to get some comfort from my existing unit that would last me until the date of the install. With a little tinkering, I was able to get some temporary relief. There was no additional expense for this service.On the scheduled date, the crew arrived about 15-20 mins early and were ready to go. They were able to complete the job in one day and the lead, Blake, was very personable and also answered any questions I had. There was a crew of 4 more people that I was able to trust in my home as I stepped out to run a couple of errands and pick up my son from school. They also were very neat and never slacked on the job.The following day, Chris returned just to check everything out, helped me set up my wireless panel, answered any remaining questions, and provided some best practices & energy conservation tips. Chris was extremely engaged during the whole process, which made me feel more comfortable in paying for the service I was provided as well as the job.Im just a couple of days in the use of my new unit, so no problems have arose as of yet. However, if the workmanship is as good as the service, then I am sure that I will have no problems.Thanks Mascot, Chris, Blake & team. I appreciate your service.

Our heater went out the day before a hard freeze was supposed to come. Kyle came out (twice in one day because I wasn’t home the first time) and was extremely helpful. He was able to diagnose our issue quickly and he explained each step as he addressed the resolution. He also let us know what to look for in the future. Couldn’t ask for better service.

We are a General Contractor and used Mascot Mechanical for one of our recent projects and were very disappointed. They fell WAY behind schedule and never caught up. Guys wouldnt show up to work, installed the system to run backwards and missed installing all the specified baffles. Jim H. wouldnt respond to emails or phone calls. All and all, the project came in late and this company was responsible for it. NEVER AGAIN!

Avoid! They do shoddy work. They did the HVAC for my house when it was built 2 years ago and it was nothing but problems. Had to recharge the A/C units 3 times only to find that one of the coolant lines was cracked and needed to be re-soldered. Before that was found, they blamed it on kids huffing the Freon. When I discovered that a bathroom ventilation fan was not working because the vent line was ripped in the attic during install and filled with insulation, they refused to cover it under warranty.

It took 3 visits to diagnose what turned out to be a relatively minor issue. They suggested replacing all of the Nest thermostats to repair the issue, which was unnecessary and expensive. I have the impression the techs work on commission. But in the end the issue was fixed.

Senior Citizens Beware. My outdoor faucet began dripping so I decided to replace it before a bigger problem arose. I called three plumbers and received estimates ranging from $150 to $212.to replace the faucet. I then called Mascot Plumbing because they replaced my neighbors hot water heater and i am going to replace mine before it goes out. I called Mascot and was told it was $95 an hour plus parts and under the mistaken assumption the charges would be about the same as the other estimates, I decided to use Mascot. WRONG WRONG WRONG.The plumber arrived on site and said I understand you want to replace the outdoor faucet and I replied yes unless it is cheaper to replace the washer. He said he would have to get the part and left. On site 15 minutes. He came back approximately 1.5 hours later and screwed the part ( faucet) on to the pipe.The plumber was on site a total of 25 to 35 minutes but I was billed for 2.8 hours of which 2.2 were travel or he stopped for breakfast. I was charged $126.12 for the faucet but an identical faucet can be purchased at a building supply company for under $32. I believe in companies making a profit on resales, but this would be called usury in the lending business.Adding insult to the phantom 2.8 hours of plumber time, $266, 00, I was charged a trip charge of $40. Total $266 + $126.12 + $40 = $432.12 for an outdoor faucet and it is not even gold.This is a prime example of businesses taking advantage of senior citizens. The girl at the office said I had to confirm appointment with a credit card and I foolishly gave her the information. The plumber had me sign two screens with no data. When I inquired about the invoice he told me the office would go through all the information with me. That never happened and my credit card was charged $432.12. I have requested to talk to the owner about the bill but that has never happened. I did receive an e-mail that said I could have purchased the part and only the time to install it would be charged. That point was never mentioned to me.SENIOR CITIZENS AND ALL HOME OWNERS BEWARE IF YOU CHOOSE MASCOT PLUMBING

Mascot Building Services is a great company to subcontract for. We were reached out to about fulfilling a work order for one of their clients in our local area. One of the first things I do when reached out to by another contractor is go and check their reviews. I can say that they were quick to respond to any questions, easy to work with, and paid on time. Jason was our contact at their company, and he made it a really great experience working with them.
