We had our AC go out on the hottest day of the year. We called several companies who couldn’t get to us for 3 days or up to 2 weeks! I gave Legit Heat and Air a call and they were able to get to us within 2 hours. The technician was very professional, polite, and informative. I appreciate that they take pictures and leave comments on potential issues that they keep record of and include this info on your receipt. Luckily for us, our AC only needed minor repair that did not require parts so we were able to pay only the service fee which was very reasonable. The technician reassured us that if he needed to return for the same issue we would not need to pay an additional service fee. Amazing service!!! Would definitely recommend them for your AC needs.

Weve used Legit Heating and AC for several repairs and replacements on our rental units. Rod is truly a knowledgeable professional, and was able to make repairs to some older units to buy us time. When it was time to replace some older heat pumps, he and his crew worked quickly and completed the installations within the estimated time. Even when one unit malfunctioned, he contacted the supplier and did some creative troubleshooting to identify the faulty part quickly and get it replaced asap. The cash price for the new heat pumps was quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend Legit for repairs and replacements.

First time needing a professional Technician to fix our AC unit. Called Legit Heating and Air, Rod squeezed me in that same day, I have a baby and needed warm house.Rod fixed our AC Unit that same day, had parts in van and was working soon. Ive seen many knowledgeable people in my life, but Rod is by far a genius! I got home after work and noticed my AC went out. I called around town to get someone out as quickly as possible, and I got Rod on the line. As soon as I described my issue I heard a confident Ah, Okay I got it. He assured me that hed arrive within the hour, and he did just that! (Not a minute late) As soon as he got out the van he conducted a few quick test and grabbed the part I needed. Less than 20 minutes Rod was on his way out. Not only did he resolve the issue, he explained everything entirely. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and LEGIT AC has a customer for life! Everyone knows how hot Texas temps can get, Rod saved the day! Thank you, sir! Very professional, timely, and knowledgeable. LEGIT AC you have a STELLAR employee in Rod!

I called Rod at 5 am this morning. He answered the phone. Told him my AC was out and what it was doing. He told me I could change the capacitor and save myself a couple hundred bucks. I told him I didn’t know anything about the unit but would look but to please keep me on the schedule. He told me it would be around 11 am. I pulled the capacitor and took it to town and had it tested. The capacitor was good. I called Rod back at 8:48 am to let him know the capacitor was good and asked if it would still be around 11. He said “I’ll let you know”. At 3 pm they still had not showed or called so I called Rod again. He informed me that he had taken me off the schedule because he sent me a text, which was not received and I didn’t respond, mind you he didn’t try to call me which is how our communication had been all morning. When I expressed my frustrations Rod told me they could come out in 2 days from now and take a look, mind you it is 106+ degrees with children in the house. A complete lack of professionalism and a man that can’t keep his word. Legit has serviced all 4 of my units previously and I have given them all my business until now, Rods lack of compassion and honesty will not soon be forgotten.

My family has been in the service industry for 35 years. The lack of professionalism I received today was unfathomable. Rod claims they are too busy to pick the phone up and call a customer that is already on the schedule, he instead took the most passive and in personable route and sent a text asking if his services were still needed, or so he claims then canceled me and left my family with no AC in 106 degree heat. But he’s very quick to respond on google! I would recommend anyone needing service immediately to call anyone else in town as Rod has proven to be unreliable when an existing customer repeat customer needed him the most. Sorry Rod, you lost my business and my respect today in how you handled matters. If you’re upset by the language I used I would welcome you the opportunity to have your family put out like this and see how you feel. Best of luck in your future endeavors, hopefully you will learn from this and be better!

So thankful for Rod! He was pleasant to work with and got us fixed up quicker than he had to. He really knows his stuff, thoroughly explained and educated us to help us keep it running well. He was even patient with our home warranty and those aren’t usually the best/easiest calls for them. A lot of hoops to jump through and he was kind and patient to get it done for us. Our AC froze up Sat evening(triple digit heat). The first company I contacted was not sure when they could get out and put me on their list. They did say the unit had to be down for 24 hours before anyone would touch it. After 24 hours and no response I started calling other companies, left messages and no one replied. This morning (Mon) I called LEGIT, they picked up on the first ring and said they could get out today. The technician was here within the hour. Rod did an excellent job and got us up and running within a couple of hours. He was very professional and took the time to explain what he found and what he did to fix the issues. Cost was extremely reasonable. This is a go to company and I say that without any hesitation. Kudos to a job well done and thank you for keeping us cool!

After being misquoted, and misdiagnosed from another company, I called Legit at the recommendation of a friend. What I was previously told, from the initial company, would take either a week to repair, or my only other choice was to replace the entire unit, took Legit only until the end of the day to complete the job (repair existing) and at a significantly lower price. Legit also identified two improperly installed parts, the initial company, who had serviced my AC system for years, never acknowledged. This incorrect installation, caused premature damage to my unit. All work before and after was documented by Legit, via pictures and explained in writing in great detail. It is obvious to me the initial company was completely trying to take advantage of the 100+ degrees, and get me to spend entirely more than necessary. Honesty, integrity, and a professional work ethic, is definitely what you get with Legit!

Awesome. Our heater went out during the cold with a 1yr old at home. We made a service call and they came out the same day after work hours to help us. Junior and Ron were very professional and found a problem that doesn’t typically happen with heaters and was able to detect it and fix it. We are very appreciative of their services and will continue to use them going forward. Thank you!!!

Had a small problem with ac draining.Rod responded within a halfhour and quickly installed a quick disconect allowing easy access to the house drain so maintenance is much easier for all. THANKS ROD!!

By far the best experience! Extremely fast and friendly! He knows his stuff! Gave fair and honest estimates and opinions of issues. Was able to replace our entire unit with in 24 hours! With us living in another city its very reassuring that we have someone that we can contact for our college kids that live in Abilene.

The man who came and replaced our central air & heat was amazing! He was so polite, was able to squeeze us in the next day after we called, he was on time, and finished the services quickly. I can’t say enough great things about this crew! They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, timely, amazing communication, friendly, all around great guys! They responded within 3hrs of our A/C going out to quickly diagnose the issue. They were able to get it working while they found a local unit to replace the badly rusted furnace we had in our home. They dropped off the new unit same day and installed it the next business day. I would recommend them for all of your HVAC needs and they were even able to recommend a plumber and went out of their way to assist during a freak water pipe rupture (not at all related to their work on the property). If you are someone like me who doesnt know anything about AC units Legit is the company for you. Rod is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything and give you multiple options to choose from, each thoroughly explained with risk and benefits of each. He is conscience of your needs and does not try and over sale a product or suggest unnecessary fixes. I will not ever use another company. I will be calling him anytime I have an issue with my units. I waited 3 days for another company to show up only for them to tell me they just put us on a list. I called Legit and they came same day. My Air Conditioner had turned off out of no where and i tried to figure it out on my own to no success. so i called and Rod told me everything i needed to know with extreme professionalism. he was knowledgeable on how my unit worked and the wiring past owners had did to make everything all weird. he informed me of how things worked and how not to end up shocking myself. best experience I have had with any repair/ maintenance service in Abilene, highly recommend.

LEGIT IS THE BEST! My AC went out on Sunday and I called around and everyone said they couldn’t be there until the next day or later. I called Legit and he was there in 15 minutes! He was so kind and helpful! Got my AC running in no time which was awesome because it was over 100 degrees outside and at least 85 in my home. Other companies could care less that I would’ve been out AC in the hottest time of the year but not Legit. They are amazing 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

Showed up 15 minutes after I called during the week of the freezing weather and snow. Got our heater up and running appropriately and let us know of some other things that may need attention soon. Du the the rolling blackouts he had to make a second trip next day to inspect his repairs from the day prior but stayed in contact throughout the process. Not to mention when I called him I had been waiting over 48 hours for a call back from a message I left with our regular company. Will definitely be calling for future service needs.

Rod our Technician was incredible. He knows about Air conditioner specs and technical issues and was right on point. Just like the company legit, that is the right word for this business. He was right on point. I would recommend you using an honest technician and also very personable. Going above and beyond call of duty!

During all this crazy cold weather we have been having and power outages my heater started blowing out cold air and wasn’t working properly at all. At 1am I panicked and called legit heating and air and was able to talk to someone right away and even though he couldn’t make it out he was able to talk me through how to get some heat back in my house until someone could get out to me. They sent out Rod a few hours later and he has been great working with me through everything! I really appreciate everything he has done and how quickly he was able to respond and help.

He was quick, professional and did an amazing job for us. Came same day (within an hour of calling him!) and fixed our AC and saved us from the crazy Texas heat. Will recommend him to anyone who needs HVAC services.

Amazing service with no issues coming to Hodges and Merkel. Absolutely brilliant and we have found all information provided to be truthful and consideration of budgets kept in mind. our AC die in the middle of the summer and we got a technician over that evening. He spent a lot of time checking out system and making recommendations of how to move forward. Called again when my parents AC stopped working completely. Someone was there within a few hours and had them up and running in no time. Prices are unbelievably reasonable and the fees for the service are even more reasonable. I dont believe we got any out of area additional charge either for Hodges or Merkel.

Amazing service! So professional! Quick response! I will be using this company anytime I EVER need air conditioning or heating assistance. I also will be recommending him to anyone who needs these services. He was able to respond same day and get my air conditioning fixed within 24 hours. With two kids under two in the Texas heat, that was huge!!! So impressed!

He can after hours to check out the system, then returned the next night to put the new part in. He was kind and and considerate a pure lifesaver. I have cats and they were feeling the affects of the heat.i was surprised that he was able to come so quickly. Others companys said at least one to two days if that. Great company they are going to be my go to people from now on.

I just had a great experience with this company and owner. He was prompt and really had that customer service attitude. We had such a good experience that we are signing up for his maintenance plan.UPDATE 10/1/19:We ended up having to replace our entire air unit. He was running a little behind this morning but instead of me wondering when or if he would show up, he called and kept me informed! The absolute worst experience ever! This man, Rod, came to my rental house and stayed 25 minutes repairing my HVAC unit. What he did was replace a $12 transformer and maybe move around some low voltage wire. He charged me $500 for this service. Less than three hours later the unit was performing worse than ever, so I called Rod back. He declared that it was an electrical issue and left without doing anything else. I called out the electrician and corrected the issue that Rod said would fix my problem. Now, Rod refuses to return without being paid more money! Stay away from this scam artist. He charges you upfront and then runs when the services he provides fail.***Update after contractor reply: First of all, lets definitely set the record straight. I am a licensed HVAC technician - not a contractor. That is why I had my wife call you in the first place. I was stumped on a diagnosis and wanted a second opinion. Big mistake calling you! After spending $500 total with you (easily verified by my Paypal receipts) I still had to spend more money with another company to have the system repaired correctly.You were there 25 minutes because we verified it with security camera footage of you onsite. I find it very telling of your true nature that you would accuse an 80 year old disabled lady of lying about how long you were on site.As for disrespecting you and your business, I find this hilarious. You called me with your electrician buddy in the background and then had him ambush me once you thought it appropriate. Of course I was angered that a third party was listening in on my conversation with you unannounced. This was very creepy and rude of you. If your friend had something relevant to say, you should have introduced him at the start of the call.Hopefully, people will take time to read your reviews, like I did, and make an informed decision about your true business model.

Rodrick was on time, he had all the necessary tools and equipment to perform the inspection on my camper rooftop air conditioner. After inspection of wiring, fuses, and mechanical parts he determined that there was a faulty relay switch that controls the AC compressor, he installed a new stand alone relay switch and it has been working great since. He gave me options on how I should proceed. Overall I am very happy and satisfied with the level of customer service I received.

Rod was real down to earth. Broke everything down from what our least expensive option to the best option. Of course, we went with the best option. We haven’t had AC for quite some time and our unit was installed with the house in ‘06. It began to fail. Everybody expects the best and expects to pay the least, i’ll admit that’s what i wanted. What i didn’t expect was for him to accommodate the lack of AC in our home by buying a portable AC unit we could temporarily use to give us some comfort for the days he’d be installing our new unit. We didn’t have any cold air so of course i accepted. Dude is a good guy, trustworthy too. Highly recommend.

We had issues with our AC not blowing cold air raising the temp in the house well above 80 degrees. After a 5 minute phone call Legit was able to walk us through fixing our issue and it immediately resolved the problem. Not only were they knowledgeable, but they answered immediately on a sunday. They have installed a new unit at my Dads house and have done a pull & clean at my house couldnt ask for more professional people they take their time to make sure everything is working properly and done right.... They dont try to upsell anything you dont need & make sure you are aware of issues that other companies wont point out to you so that you have even more issues.... They installed a furnace and a ac unit. The furnace had problems staying running. After a phone call a guy came out and looked at it. Said he had to order a part. So while we waited with no heat. Needless to say never heard from them again. I would not recommend this company

Rodwick was there within two hours of my call on Sunday came in and checked out my furnace and discovered that the motor was on fire. We decided to replace the outdated furnace and ac unit. He is very professional and explains everything in detail We highly recommend this company for all of your heating and air conditioning needs. If you want fast and professional service call Legit.

Rod was on the ball and responded within an hour of my call for help to repair my HVAC unit during a cold front! He did timely and effective troubleshooting and also worked with my home warranty company to get approval for repairs to get us up and going!
